Star Trek fans are nerdier. Star Wars still sucks. Star Trek sucks slightly less. They're both a million times better than Lord of the Rings.

Tyson would get killed in MMA. One low kick and he's running. One takedown and he's tapping. -
He's almost 40 for petesake. Almost 40, hasn't beaten anyone of note in over a decade... I knew the general masses still considered Tyson worth a crap...but I didn't think anyone who would click a boxing link on this board would be that naive.
-
I guess people will always think Tyson can beat good fighters...even though it's been over a decade since he's done so.
-
He'd have to catch him in round 1...because Tyson is gased after that. I'd take Vitali all day long in that match up.
-
Hey Spiff...I'm thinking of answering back rudely...but if you give me a 4th round pick I won't...

The policy of thesmartmarks has always seemed to be that the two (messageboard and main site) are seperate. In most cases, a messageboard is just an attachment to a site...but in our case, the board came first...and the site was started as a seperate project. For example...you can be fired as a writer on the site...but that doesn't mean you will be banned from the board. Given that the two are seperate...why should someone banned not be allowed to write for the site?

The story was that the Giants told him they were going to take him at #4, and then decided on Rivers to make a deal with the Chargers. They showed today on the draft Big Ben getting told by NY that he was there guy...and then watching them pick Rivers to trade. So...I think circumstance is what dropped him behind Rivers. On Losman...I think Wyche and Clements can fix him mechanically...but I know what can happen to talented QBs that can't get there head straight (watch Drew Bledsoe the last year and a half). This kids starting out with questions about his head already...which scares the hell out of me. That is one positive I will give to Roethlisberger. He is very smart, and football smart.
-
"And considering his experience was in the MAC, it's risky as hell" That's not true. Pennington and Leftwich played in the MAC, and I'm pretty high on them. Roethlisberger has skills AND smarts (smarts being what my team's pick is unfortunatley lacking) so he should be able to put it together. Part of my unrest comes from his team knocking my team out of the top 25...and then beating them at home in the MAC Championship. The other part is because the latest trend in football seems to say that these talented guys are having a harder and harder time putting it all together on the pro level. Plus...The Steelers did lose their QB Coach and Offensive Coordinator that turned Stewart and Maddox into something...at least briefly. Their on my team now...and they've got their work cut out for them over here...I'll tell you that.
-
That's not my problem with him. He's got all the tools, and he's smart...which is why everyone sees him as a can't miss. I just don't think what he did in college is going to translate well to the NFL. I'm also not convinced he can throw from the pocket. He's always running. Which is fine against the MAC linebackers...but I wouldn't recommend rolling out that often against the Ravens.

"Is it possible, as BPS says, that he could be the "Big Bust"? " Yes. But don't worry. My team's right there with him.

He's looking very season 2 Angelus in that pic. -
To update: From Bill Banks' column on the TNA site TNA SIGNS MORE TALENT Big things are on the horizon for TNA, and the front office was busy this week finalizing contracts with various superstars. We're happy to announce that The Amazing Red, Traci and Sonjay Dutt have all signed deals with TNA. All three are young talent with a bright future in the business, and great to work with as well. Read: These are the guys we also didn't want working RoH but had to sign to a contract.

If Sakuraba is going to fight in June, I'd like to see him face Dan Henderson. I've kind of wanted to see that for a while. -

I ordered the replay. Since my two favorite fighters got KOed hard last year (Sakuraba and Vovchanchyn) I've been searching for a new fighter to call my favorite. Sergei Kharatonov made a good case to be my guy today. Two fights in...and both were great. -

You had no intention of buying the show because you're a tool. This is easily one of those "Must-buy" shows, the spoilers only proved that. There's a reason to see every match on this show, especially Silva-Sentoryu. Maybe it was the two straight months of Meltzer putting the show down and half a joke, followed by there not being a card until like two days ago that did't breed confidence. -

I read them because I had no intention of buying this show. Then after I read them...I wanted to see it. -
Thanks. About this time every year I like to put up a Madden picture of what my team's new first round picked player with a recent major knee injury looks like.

I'll take it further... just imagine Regal, horribly embarrased to be his manager before his first match. Then the match starts and Eugene is slaughtering some nobody...and Regal's facial expressions of shock and realization that he's got something. Then after the match, and in between his matches he could try to give him advice but Eugene is back to being mentally handicaped. Comedy GOLD. Also...anyone who listened to Raven on WOL the other week knows that he already solved the Eugene puzzle. The character will get stale sooner or later...and when it does Raven came up with how to turn him heel. You just have Dinsmore say he was never retarded, but was making fun of those people and had to pretend he was "special" just to get a shot. Then he goes back to killing people.
-
Man...what they should do with Eugene is so obvious. He should walk around being the loveable mentaly handicapped guy...until the bell rings. From bell to bell he should just kill people. He should be a machine that just takes people apart.

I'm reading the spoiler on the observer site. I'll put this in spoiler text: OH MY FUCKING GOD. You'll see what I mean -
Holyfield and even Buster Douglas are other examples. Big guys don't fear him...and that was his edge.
-
He'd have a tough time with Vitali because Tyson can't beat bigger men with any talent. He couldn't in his prime...and he can't now.
