Well...I'm one of the few people on this board that doesn't have a problem with a DQ finish. I'm just surprised they did it.
-
A DQ Main Event Finish? In Ring of Honor?

How'd Zito work out for you tonight? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I'll still probably look at ESPN Football. I liked last years alot better than I liked last years' Madden.

Just to clarify here. Does Manning just not want to play in San Diego, or is it specifically New York that he wants to play for? Would he be happy with Arizona or Oakland? No one knows. Archie stated that he never mentioned a particular team to the Chargers...just that he'd sit out if they picked him.

I've seen some mocks lately that have Rivers going ahead of Big Bust Roethlisberger. There are a few teams that are higher on Rivers than Ben (Buffalo, Pittsburgh) and there's been talk of both trying to trade up to take him.

I think Irvin is actually pretty good.

I think it's much simpler than that. I think they're plan was to say these 6 guys are the main event players (Truth, JJ, AJ, Abyss, Raven and Harris). They were all jumbled together leading to a cage match where TNA spelled out as much as possible that Jarrett would be losing the strap. 3 of them were given storylines leading up to the cage (Styles not trusting Russo after there last partnership, Raven destroying the shows wanting his shot, and Harris earning the shot by winning his matches throughout the road to the cage). Cut to Wednesday...and all three storylines played out. Raven ruined Harris' earned shot...and Russo picked AJ to earn his trust back. Ther problem is it's not on TV, it's on PPV. I think they thought they could get away with it because no one really wanted Harris to win the title, and AJ is everyone's favorite. In theory...Styles is better off now that he's the champion, Harris is better off because he wasn't ready to be champion and can stay in the picture, and everyone else is better off because Jarrett lost the title. In practice...everything TNA does is wrong. Boo.

Then let's just get rid of the draft altogether. The fucking point of the DRAFT is that it benefits the bad teams and not the good players. The good players are taken care of 5 years later when they PROVE to be good and can choose where they play. Free agency isn't a right...it's a priveledge that is earned over time.

You know...if someone ran an angle like this prior to the internet being around...it would have been huge for the people watching. But now we're all cynical overcritical losers. And Mike is our leader.

I'm stealing what you did with your sig by the way

NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

True. And allowing him to cheat and nail AJ with a guitar would have prevented that. All he did was give AJ time to regain his footing. He didn't take the guitar out of his hand...he just prevented the cheating long enough for Styles to do it himself. Once Styles was back to his feet he knocked the guitar out of play and rolled JJ up clean.

I'm just marveling at the discussion of how HHH being distracted was clean...and Jarrett being distracted wasn't. Anyway...The match needed about 5 minutes of Jarrett beating the crap out of Styles after his bump off the cage to the floor before the finish. That could have had some good near falls and a better face comeback for Styles. Unfortunately...as has been the case for cage matches done at the end of the show (instead of at the beginning like XXX/AMW) they ran out of time. This was the 5th cage match. XXX/AMW started the show so it didn't get cut short... Wednesday Bloody Wednesday and Gathering vs. Abyss and RedShirts were pretaped so they had time... But the two live main event cage matches (AJ/DLo and AJ/JJ) were both rushed because they forget how long it takes to set up the thing.

It certainly didn't hurt us. He's 100% now. The Draft isn't about the first year...you get to keep these guys for longer than that. Hell...let's say the Bills were to take a WR in the first round this year...that's great for the future...but they've basically taken a kick returner in year 1.

Let's make sure that someone keeps up with easports putting the pics of the rookies in their new uniforms like last year. That's where I got my retrosig:

TNA Backstage Notes From Last Night
The Ghost of bps21 replied to BoboBrazil's topic in TNA Wrestling
Hell Yes! The man spent over a year doing nothing...they make it appear for a couple weeks like he's going to be a top player again...and he's the #1 face on the roster again. -
They were dumb for not just advertising Styles vs. Jarrett. I'd have to think the belief that Styles had a good chance to win would have netted more buys than believing Chris Harris might win. That's what I love about TNA. They go about doing the right thing in such wrong ways. At least they always keep me guessing. Plus...Daniels beat Shane...so the World X Cup just got better.

I think Eddy's winning the title is #1 for me. Brock leaving is #2..people leave all the time. How often do sub-6 foot ultra talented workers get to the top following overcoming real life setbacks?
-
Even with game 7 down the street... $2 tickets to Pedro vs. Halladay? I can't buy the excuses for the lack of fan support tonight.
-
Wow...if Martin gets fired (and by everything I've heard he woul be if they lost today)... that makes Sabres coach Lindy Ruff the longest tenured coach in the league... and his team has missed the last 3 playoffs (a first in team history!).

I go up to Toronto to see games...the place is always empty unless the Yankees come to town. And then the crowd is pro-Yankees. Toronto won't support them again unless they're winning.
