updated rumored WrestleMania card
The Ghost of bps21 replied to The Ghost of bps21's topic in The WWE Folder
I don't understand how you're supposed to build a program around a guy who won't even be on RAW until 2 weeks before Mania. His presence in the Foley feud isn't even built up...he's just being thrown into it. The only way to build it up would be to keep running promos that Rock will return on so and so day... -

Oh I love Rock as a heel. Anytime he's going to be around for a few months he should be a heel. I'm just thinking down the line if RVD signs a new contract...he's not going to get any fresher by staying a face. Even if they wanted to push him the stink of failure and midcarder won't come off without a lot of spit and polish. -

But he's not going to be a heel in this few week run. -

But it works BECAUSE it's so last minute. Rock can just show up (which is going to happen) and his place is still warm for him. RVD has a legit gripe about last year, and anyone can play a heel when they believe in what they are being a heel for. Plus...he'll get booed facing the Rock. -

I would use Rock differently than they are planning. I'd have Rock come back on RAW this week to all his pomp and circumstance (cause he's a big star)...and get on the mic and say he's back for Mania. The crowd can go nuts... and Then I'd have someone like RVD or Booker come down and say it's Bullshit that they bust there ass for WWE night in and night out and Rock can just come back and be put right on Mania...while they have to scratch and claw to try and get on (this would probably work best with Van Dam...who wasn't on Mania last year). Rock can put him over and you've started creating a new star just like that. -
Vince McMahon has made an offer to Bret Hart about appearing at WrestleMania XX. The offer was for Hart to appear and give a speech, not to be inducted into the Hall of Fame or be part of the Chris Benoit angle. At this point, most believe that if WWE decides to put the World Title on Benoit, it will happen at Backlash in Edmonton, not at 'Mania. Credit: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Well...if he can't have one with Jericho at Mania...he's not going to have one. At least not until Benoit gets demoted to the midcard of RAW. -

They should just put it on Mania too. They can find room for another...what...8 minutes total on a 5 hour show? -
This has to be the most clever flame in the history of the sports folder.

I don't have that problem with the hype since I never buy into wrestling hype anymore...OK just that one time for Truth/Jarrett... There's enough mix between good matches and big event matches for me. Angle/Eddy, Jericho/Christian, Cruiser stuff. Brock/Berg, Taker/Kane Whatsmore...I actually LIKE the way most of these matches have been built up. Cena/Show for example. It's going to be awesome to see Cena take him down finally. -

That would certainly make more sense since there are 11 guys listed there. Take him out and you have an even 10...with Chavo waiting to take advantage of the winner (probably Rey) with his heel like tactics. Of course...Rey would overcome and win...and *boom* WrestleMania moment. -
You know what I would do? I'd have Team TNA be Lynn, Sabin, Dutt and Skipper again...and have them lose to RoH by a point with a big deal being made about how RoH was clever to put the Briscoe's in their team and their 2 point win in the tag round being the difference. Then the next time TNA could put AMW in to counter.
-
There is certainly a point to be made about people seeing how much better RoH is and switching promotions...but their business models are just so different. If you want to see great wrestling...you order some RoH tapes. If you're looking for something to watch on Wednesday and TNA has a solid lineup...you order that. Hell...if anything it may lead to TNA putting on a better product. The quick and dirty bottomline for TNA is obvious. I think a TNA vs. RoH show would easily be the most purchased show since Jarrett/Raven. It literally is the two best known indy feds in the country going head to head. RoH fans would order, TNA fans would order, and even people who only follow both companies on the net (or have just seen a couple tapes or shows) would be more inclined to order...and you could see both promotions pick up new fans. The bottomline for RoH is picking up anyone who watches TNA but doesn't order RoH tapes and DVDs because they don't like buying on the net (I'm one of them...I watch all the RoH from my friends tapes...but will buy any they put in stores soon...and bought some at the RoH show I went to). They could plug all the upcoming RoH dates (and mention that TNA stars like Styles, Punk, Daniels, Low Ki will be there) and plug RFvideo. Most importantly...the fans win. Screw the constantly postponed Bound For Glory ppv...throw all the money they were going to waste on Savage or Nash and put it into advertising a TNA/RoH show. I think it can only help both in the long run.

I wouldn't use Samoa Joe (and not because he's a big guy when everyone on TNA's side is smaller) because he's the RoH champion and he: 1. Should be above what the X Cup stands for 2. Shouldn't job in any way in TNA whlie he's the champion of RoH. RoH was respectful of AJ Styles NWA title...to the point where it cost them a finish to the London/Styles match. 3. He's huge and the other guys are small. (I guess I couldn't leave it out) Wins over Samoa Joe are hard to come by and should be more important when they come. I'm still bothered that I watched him job to Mike Awesome in MLW. Although I understand that different companies means different places and so forth...but in this case...he would be representing the company he is the champ of...and shouldn't job. IMO anyway

Joe Gibbs has some funny ideas about the NFL this time around. PATRICK RAMSEY >>>> MARK BRUNELL

All this is nice...but it doesn't explain to me why Angle turned heel. HE ALREADY HAS THE TITLE SHOT. If the turn is going to be explained away as "Angle doesn't like seeing a cheater with the title"... Then why the fuck would he beatdown his opponent before Mania? That doesn't work. For it to work Angle's character would want to keep everything fair and clean...since he's trying to paint the cheater as the face. Plus...HE ALREADY HAD THE TITLE SHOT.

Anyway...back on topic... I was thinking about this when Michrome mentioned it earlier...and I came up with the idea (in my head anyway) that a team RoH would actually be easier to pull off than team AAA and team Canada were. TNA doesn't seem to have a problem plugging RoH (on the TNA site at least) anyway...so I bet they could mention RFVideo several times throughout the show. Plus...look at TNA's X division who would be in the X Cup. Except Elix Skipper...all those guys (Daniels, Sabin, LowKi, Lynn, Dutt) work both TNA and RoH at least occasionaly. There'd be less travel involved...and I don't think either company would care who wins and loses since as I mentioned...the guys work both places anyway. And hell...TNA put AAA over...I bet they'd put over team RoH too...especially since it's easier to book guys from the Northeast than Mexico and Canada...and they could do it more than once. Throw together a team RoH with Danielson, The Briscoes (which I think would be BRILLIANT booking since one of the matches in the cup is a tag match...which you'd have the Briscoes win since they are a team and not just two singles wrestlers), and someone else (maybe Spanky since he'll be returning to RoH soon and this could be his entrance to TNA which I'm sure he'll work as well)...of course I'd love Homicide... Team TNA and Team RoH in the X Cup seems easier to me...and great for everyone.

Well...I didn't watch the show yet (It's recorded on my DVR for later) but what was the catalyst for the turn? -

I would have prefered Eddy beating him at Mania then having Angle turn heel after not pulling out the win. -

I'm sure it's already been posted and discussed, but I just looked at the guest stars list for the next 3 episodes and marked out 3 times for 3 of my favorite actors. First of all...Knox is going to be more important...which I love because I think that guy is great. Second...Adam Baldwin of Firefly fame will be on three eps from now. Third...*spoiler* Lindsey is coming back. -

Where would you have the money go then? They bring in so much revenue...and you'd rather they not get it back?
