"Nintendo announces that its recent GameCube price drop has seen sales of the console quadruple in the last week. Following last week's GameCube price reduction, Nintendo of America has today announced that sales of the $99 console have quadrupled as a result of the move. Nintendo has also recently announced a $100 million "who are you?" marketing campaign, which it plans to spend around $50 million launching ahead of Christmas. "Clearly, this move is what game players desired, and also what our retail partners wanted," said George Harrison, senior vice president, marketing and corporate communications, Nintendo of America. "We're already receiving requests for additional shipments of Nintendo GameCube systems between now and the holidays." "The price cut is working great," added Dan DeMatteo, president of GameStop. "Our sales of Nintendo GameCube have increased more than fourfold. We are currently increasing our shipment requests for the system throughout the holidays."" Also...in two observations...one that is kind of surprising...the other that really isnt: 1. The GC version of Soul Calibur 2 sold best...which doesn't surprise me since Link was the go to guy. The PS2 version sold worst...which does kind of surprise me given how many mor ePS2 owners there are. 2. For some reason I don't understand...the latest rental chart sees XBox games renting like mad. They hold 6 of the top ten spots...and they outrent the PS2 version of the same games. I don't get that part.

Nope. I can tell when RVD is in pain. All of Edge's faces look like... confused discomfort.

They could have done a better job with match selections for the X division one...but there's some good stuff there. First of all...2 Kash/Red matches when neither was that good...and only 1 of the great Styles/Red matches...weird. I am glad to see the 4 way tag match that came down to XXX vs. Lynn and Red (Sabin's debut match) AND they have the XXX vs. Lynn and Red match on the other DVD...so good stuff there. What they needed was (as has been said) the regular 3 way instead of...or in addition to the ladder verision. Also...no XXX vs. SATs from the last show of 2002! I figure next X division DVD will pick up from the debut of Sabin and move into the new class of guys "Sabin, Shane, Kazarian and the Super X Cup" and then whatever comes next.

Part of the problem is that Edge is roughly 3 inches too tall for his moveset...making everything look "funny". His facial expressions are the worst in the history of the business. He did have a real good match with Test and another one with Storm...but those are the exceptions and not the rule. If anything those were succesful because we weren't subjected to the Edge slow methodical "Edge in peril" crap that drags his other matches down. Both the Test and Storm match were fast paced, big move after big move matches that worked beautifully.

I'm glad the Cubs are going to win. The only Series final I really didn't want was Yankees vs. Marlins because that held no appeal to me. The Marlins were a nice story...and if the A's had beaten the Red Sox and the Cubs had lost to the Braves...I'd be rooting for them... but the Cubs story is just better.

Rock and HHH are MUCH bigger than Spanky and Matt Hardy. Rock was pushed from the MINUTE he arrived in the company despite not being over (hey...just like Brock was). I don't recall Spanky or Hardy getting that.
-
The irony of everyone else from the Texas Wrestling Academy using that to get bookings around the indys...having it be a whole movement in RoH AND his cousin using THAT as his character in TNA just hit me. It seems the only one who gets nothing from the deal IS Spanky...who's connection probably goes as far as "You're hired"/
-
Then why is he still jobber to the lower midcard? If Shawn training him gave him some kind of connection you'd think he'd make a ppv every now and then.

Regal's offense isn't what killed the feud for me. I rather like Regal's offense. What killed me was how out of place Edge is in almost every match unless his opponent (which is why matches with Angle and Eddy are his only REAL good stuff) completely adapts to Edge's weird style of moving super fast on offense and SUPER SLOW on defense. That Edge face of trying to get to the ropes makes a minute feel like an hour...and is then immediately followed up by runnign aroung the ring and leaping around.
-
People think that because no one in the WWE is going to spend a second thinking about how to elavate Spanky let alone two years. It's impossible to do because no one will ever try it. He's too small.
-
Long. Slow. Boring. All good adjectives for the entire Edge/Regal feud. I blame Edge mostly.
-
I just imagined it...and it was HILARIOUS
-
That's just dumb booking. When he was losing to Hardy JR was going on about the HUGE upset while Show would dominate most of the match. Spanky's been around for like a year...and I'm not sure I know more than 4 of his moves.
-
"you really think is ok for a young man to drop on the ground a senior citizen" I do. But that's neither here nor there. "There's always a reason. There's a reason to kick an old man down a flight of stairs...just don't do it" - Chris Rock
-
But they've already (Spanky more than Hardy) been proven as worthless jobbers. Come off it AS. It's not like they can't change that in an instant. They can make anyone look credible in a couple of months, never mind a couple years. I disagree. If they could do that...even by accident SOMEONE would have broken through by now.
-
It really is all Manny's fault.
-
The main problem with that scenario is that one of them would have to actually WIN the world title for it to work. Anyone can get a shot at the title... Hell...Paul London got a shot and he's just a no name jobber with no offense who isn't over. I was confused for a minute...as he looked a lot like a guy that was SOOO awesome that I'd seen...thankfully Brock ended the match before my head started to hurt.
-
Let's take a stroll back in time three years to 2000 shall we. There was a ppv called Fully Loaded that featured a triple main event with an established main eventer against a guy on the cusp of being a top guy. HHH vs. Jericho Rock vs. Benoit Taker vs. Angle The old guard won all three... HHH is still the top guy on RAW. Who's getting the title shot at No Mercy on SD!? Benoit and Jericho are midcarders. Only Angle has made it through. If in THREE years only Angle could make it (and we'll ignore the wasted use of RVD and Booker on Raw for now) do you HONESTLY believe that MATT HARDY and SPANKY have a prayer?
-
At the end of the day...Pedro lost...and that's all that matters.
-
By World title do you mean the World Cruiserweight Championship? If so...I still say no.
-
I think I'm going to go add Trish to my list. Someone was thinking outside of the box...which shouldn't be allowed in these parts!
-
I love Willingham. I think he's going to take Notre Dame back to a powerhouse once he can start seeing the fruits of recruiting for his own system.
-
I hereby present further evidence that preseason rankings are garbage. Ranked high based on LAST YEAR and barely pulling off wins against BAD teams AT HOME. Go on the road and lose.
-
That's fine, and I actually like the Trish pick alot. But how does HAAS get in ahead of Benjamin?
