Info On Hogan/TNA From The Torch Newsletter
The Ghost of bps21 replied to BoboBrazil's topic in TNA Wrestling
Hogan's title win single handedly cost RAW a full ratings point that it still pretty much hasn't recovered. The novelty wore off as soon as they gave him the belt...and everyone stopped watching -
I like Cuba Gooding Jr. too...and I love Ed Harris (on a manly way of course...) but this doesn't look good. It's not because it's "feel good" I loved Rudy and Rocky... It's because it looks bad.

What looks good about Radio?
-
There must be two...only because the EA deal seemed imminent a month ago and then they talked with someone else (and we went through the Aclaim scare then too). Then EA met with them more recently down in Nashville. Def Jam proved that wrestling games can sell without the WWE trademark...so it's not surprising that people want to make wrestling games as a result. Since they have an open channel at least with a couple groups...I mean...I think I could seal this deal eventually.

Radio looks terrible. I couldn't sit and watch that for an hour and a half...especially when the trailer is so geared towards telling you the entire story right away. House of the Dead is guaranteed to suck.

I'm telling you. It's all about the body. a guy shaped like Steiner, Brock or Trips are far more likely to gte injured on a basic move than a guy like Jericho, RVD or Hurricane are on harder moves. To be fair, Brock has not been a problem with injuries because he possesses the sack to work around them. That's true...but he has had a lot of injuries in a short time. He's just tough. No one denies that.

Hey...now that London has realized his dream and worked a WWE show... does he click his heels together three times, wake up and go back to kicking ass now? ... Please?
-
I'll be buying it. I've fallen behind on my previous sets though. I own them...but I haven't watched any of season 2 (either set)
-
Sometimes things are so obvious they shouldn't even be written about. This is one such time.
-
They said he watched football instead of Raw. He said he watched football instead of Raw. ... What am I missing?
-
They did a segment on Xplosion that kind of explained that. They went with Jarrett being unsure about the status of HIS title shot now that Dusty grabbed one. Watts assured him that he'd get it either way. What they'll end up doing though, started last week. Russo told Jarrett not to trust Dusty and Dusty asking for the match to be for the title knowing that his "friend" has a shot coming up kind of plays into that. The seeds are being sown for Jarrett's overdue heel turn...and with Styles smacking down Russo and (in another angle from Xplosion) telling him that he needed the match with Dusty because he's been embarrased and that he'd go against russo to do it...they'll probably do a double turn with Styles going face.
-
Why don't they ban Shane McMahon from killing people??? hmm???? hmmm???? HMMMM????
-
I figure this angle will run it's course by then. I'm just Spanky and Dragon as my reasoning.
-
I just can't wait till next month when he hits Velocity and the talent on that show makes it the best show in the history of the company.

I think it had more to do with no one knowing who London was at house shows. See...BEFORE people didn't know who he was so he was worthless... NOW People know he's worthless going in. Cuts out the middle man.
-
One would have thought that the onset of FREAKING TELEVISION would have made the need for everyone to BE larger than life go away and replaced by the ability to APPEAR larger than life. They aren't running stadium shows with no big screen monitors anymore for Pete's sake.
-
"Michaels/Jericho" I'll never understand.
-
The FANS!!! You just KNOW that Patrick is going to be involved in the McMahon angle somehow as crooked ref!
-
It isn't a specific move that's injuring people...it's the principle of flexability vs. muscle mass. HHH is oft injured...and has 0 flexability and a ton of muscle. RVD is never injured...and has a ton of flexability and 0 muscle mass. Which one takes the harder bumps night in and night out?

Not in a popularity contest. If you want to throw a bunch of superior old movies that 3 out of 100 people have seen into the mix only to get blown away so you can bitch about it... -
I don't know. Let's even look at London. In the long run he'll make more money AND extend his career not having to kill himself every night. It's rare that a guy that size can get away with that in the indys...and other than Styles (who's toned his highspots down totally now that he's got security) I can't think of many.
-
No one in TNA will have to worry about that for at least a year with the contracts. Those contracts are actually a pretty good thing for indy fans. Guys like Styles, CM Punk and Chris Sabin won't get the opportunity to be jobbed out on Velocity for a while...which is good for a company like RoH too...since they use all three.
-
TNA will give it to whoever cuts them the best deal. I'm kind of suprised that there is enough interest out there to do that... On the other hand...as long as the game gets made, and is advertised in gaming mags and on TV...its a win win for TNA. As a gamer...I want EA to hand this one over to AKI and make me my No Mercy sequal.
