They turn a small profit according to the observer and other sites...but they're no where near paying off the debt they owe Panda Energy for sustaining them for the first 5 years or so. But yeah, they run under their own income now.

The sweeping MEM angle has streamlined the show and elminated a lot of the uselessness of segments. ... But boy howdy do Morgan and Abyss make me feel uncomfortable...

I loved this episode. It was just the perfect combination of the absurd and Craig pointing out the absurd.

At some point you have to recognize that as a natural cultural reaction when the last guy FUCKED UP THE WORLD.

I loved Sorry. I had to turn it off because it was scratching loudly after a minute...but I loved it.

Hey...if you lose...McCain will buy your house!

What's the spread?

Yeah, this thing was really dry...but it wasn't meant for the people that are really following the election. I guess it was meant to make him put up a face of being a "safe" face of "change" that will benefit the middle class working folks. Although how anyone could be undecided with 2 candidates that are so different from each other boggles my mind.

I like the drawn out stuff too. When he asked out Stella she had to throw in a throwaway line just to keep the possability that she could be the mother. "I've been out once in months (or whatever) St. Patricks Day was a disaster...I left early" which we know the mother was out on St. Patricks day and left her umbrella at the bar Ted was at. I like little things like that. Besides...a lot of season 3 was important for getting accross that Ted wasn't ready to be the person he had to be when he meets the mother. Getting left at the alter (or close enough) by Stella should help him on that path this season. He can't just rebound into the one.

Here's another way to assess the state of the race right now: We've drawn up a chart comparing the Real Clear Politics averages right now in 13 core battleground states with the RCP averages in the same states from right before the 2004 election. The results are startling. Obama is currently leading in eight swing states that Bush led in just before Election Day 2004, in several cases by big margins, and he's leading in all of the selected battleground states except for West Virginia. Take a look: RCP 2004 Result 2004 RCP Now Colorado Bush +5.2 Bush +4.7 Obama +6.2 Florida Bush +0.6 Bush +5.0 Obama +2.7 Iowa Bush +0.3 Bush +0.7 Obama +11.4 Michigan Kerry +3.5 Kerry +3.4 Obama +17.0 Minnesota Kerry +3.2 Kerry +3.5 Obama +11.3 Missouri Bush +4.2 Bush +7.2 Obama +0.6 Nevada Bush +6.3 Bush +2.6 Obama +3.5 New Hampshire Kerry +1.0 Kerry +1.3 Obama +7.7 New Mexico Bush +1.4 Bush +0.7 Obama +8.4 Ohio Bush +2.1 Bush +2.1 Obama +6.3 Pennsylvania Kerry +0.9 Kerry +2.5 Obama +10.8 West Virginia Bush +8.5 Bush +12.9 McCain +8.0 Wisconsin Bush +0.9 Kerry +0.4 Obama +10.6 http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmem...2004rcp_now.php

They were better last year. Peters has been an absolute turd since he ended his holdout. It was his guy on the safety last week, and it's generally his or Fowler's guy in the backfield. Peters will get his form back. And Fowler is taking second team snaps despite being healthy. That benching is a year too late...but it's not like Duke Preston is any good either.

How I became Danny Tanner isn't a show I want to watch.

Edwards getting sacked 13 times in 6 games isn't nearly as bad as Lynch getting about 60 yards every game has been. Especially since, all things considered, he's been running well. Plus...think about that for a second. 5 in 1 game for Losman, 13 in 6 for Edwards. Same line. Losman is complete crap.

The Beatles' Apple Corps Ltd. and MTV have scheduled a press teleconference tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. ET to announce "an exclusive agreement to develop a global music project." Although the announcement does not offer details on the agreement, representatives for the Beatles have been talking to MTV's "Rock Band" team for months. Credit: Billboard.com

Well, we DO still have games left against KC and SF. I think we could beat them even with Losman. The problem with Losman is that he can't for the life of him figure out how to throw a short pass. The running game still isn't going that well (for some reason the Oline is better at pass protection than runblocking...again) so Edwards short passing is the running game at this point. But my main issue with JP is that whether he's throwing 80 yard TDs or going 3 and out (or fumbling it away) he puts the D on the field every 2 minutes. And we burn.
-
If the Bills were 7-0 and Edwards went down they'd go 7-9. Losman absolutely SUCKS.
-
What do they do after that?
-
That really does suck. He was very entertaining to watch on any show they'd pop him up on. Hope he heals quick.

It has been a good play on their part to keep him off the radar. That's 100% true. Funnily I saw a listing of the scheduled rallys of the candidates a few days ago and they had McCain and Palin doing their thing, Obama doing his thing, and Biden was listed as having the day off. The Obama camp has been pretty smart about keeping the negative attention on them to a minimum of late. Once Biden made the stupid Obama will be tested remark, they've done precisely 0 things that could even be seen as borderline risky. Hell if Biden hadn't made that comment in the first place the entire campaign from the last debate on would be pretty low key.
-
Pretty much all media is saying that though. It appears that the popular vote is getting closer, but Obama shouldn't have any trouble getting to the 270 electoral votes that he needs. He's still up double digits in Pennsylvania, which McCain needs to win and has shifted his resources to it. The questions about the Bradley Effect will still be around...but on the other side of that coin Obama outperformed polls all throughout the primaries and early voting has had a huge turnout.

I actually agree with your idea...but the McCain campaign was hitting experience HARD and then let that die when he picked Palin and switched to Celebrity and eventually Socialist. Biden goes out and gives speeches that are part stupid statements and part explaining what Obama's policies are to the voters. He's not exactly out there saying that he's going to suddenly change his ways after all these decades...because he seems to at least understand that the VP doesn't do a whole lot. On the other hand Palin thinks they make policies in the Senate...which along with McCain's record of taking on his own party actually doesn't make his claim of maverick that bad to the people that want to forget that the VP doesn't actually do that...and that McCain has become more of a follower since he decided to take a last run at being president. The major problem I have with comparing the claims of the two campaigns is that Biden (when not saying stupid things that hurt Obama) only really goes out and does what a VP candidate does...stresses what Obama is going to do, and attacks McCain. Wheras the McCain campaign has changed focus so many times your head would spin. Obama's inexperienced, he's a celebrity, he's a socialist, I'll buy your bad mortgages, I'm suspending my campaign, Ayers, Joe the Plummer, we're the underdog...and that's not even getting in to all things Sarah Palin. Most of that is the product of Obama having been ahead and not having to do anything to shake up his message...but Biden's role has seemed to only be selling that he believes in Obama and his plan for change. I know I have the pro-Obama bias, but it's hard to argue that Biden has been a distant 4th in conversation this campaign.
-
The electorate doesn't get to decide on Palin. They're going to choose between Obama and McCain. Biden and Palin got free tickets to the second best seat at the bighouse without one american having the opportunity to vote for them. That's why Palin and Biden are issues to take up with the guys who picked them.
-
The main storyline has definitely started to streamline things, which should make a lot of what goes on less confusing. I'm also interested to see what they do with the Guns. They've been the one young entity in the company that actually has been disrespectful to everyone for months...so they could be being set up as heels who just don't give a fuck. Which is better than...you know...nothing.
-
I can't be the only one who finds it funny that you openly support a VP candidate who's own main selling point is that she's not a part of the Washington establishment...but oppose the same quality in a prospective senator. Not to mention, yet again, that in order for Franken to win...people actually have to vote for him, wheras if McCain wins, Palin gets to be VP after being selected by exactly...one person.

I missed on that one. The correct response should have been: If being the Governor of ALASKA is infintiely more important than being a Senator (which...I know I heard somewhere recently...think think think)...than your argument holds no water when comparing being the Governor of California.
