The most memorable thing I recall from watching Olbermann was him ripping the shit out of Hillary when she made the assasination comment in the primaries. When Hannity spends 7 minutes blasting Palin for saying something stupid...then they can be even.

"Call me a purist, but if I see a good game, I'm satisfied, even if it ends in a tie." I just disagree with this on a personal level. I remember sitting and watching those ties...and I much prefer a system that lets you be excited that you won. Or that at least somebody won. And this is from a fan who's team couldn't buy a shootout win last season.

Yeah...but at least you get to put your team out there and play...even if it's defending because of a coin toss.

My friend and I were discussing ties after the Sabres lost the shootout to Atlanta. We both agreed that getting that L in the OT/SO column was better than the tie. I sat in the arena and watched fucking ties and went home more angry than I did when we'd lose in the OT or Shootout. Cause...you don't know if you win or not. You're angry you left points on the table... This way at least it's settled. With the price of tickets nowadays...ther must be a winner. Even if it's decided in a ridiculous manner like the shootout. Which to me is the equivelent of playing a tie football game for 60 mintues...and having the game decided by wich punter can kick the ball the farthest.

I've got a lot of friends around here who don't really follow the election at all...but they're pretty much voting McCain accross the board because they either won't vote for a black guy or they think Palin is hot. ... I think that sums up almost every independent McCain voter.

I had a cd player in my car in 97...standard. Neither I, nor anyone I know bought anything but a CD after 1992.

I agree with his assessment. I heard them play the song Chinese Democracy live back when Buckethead was still in the band...and I really liked it as a live rocker...but it wasn't until they put that cool intro into it that the song became one of my favorites of the leaks.

I don't think his impression is that bad...he hits the right notes on the way Obama talks... The problem is that Obama isn't funny. No one has really been able to find the angle to make him a funny character. He doesn't say funny things like Palin or Biden or Bush. He doesn't look crabby and mean like McCain or Cheyne. He doesn't come with the baggage of Hillary. He's certainly not the easy target that Bill was. He's probably the most mock proof guy that I've seen on a national stage. Seriously...what's the angle? Doesn't bode well for the next 4 years of political satire.
