    Pikachu > Kane

Here's something I wrote about Kane for the front page way back in 2002. I feel like I ripped it off from someone, but I don't remember who. I wasn't getting a lot of female attention in those days, admittedly.

    Freaks & Geeks

I rewatched the whole series over the last few days. Such a funny show, and so charming and affecting. It saddens me that the last we see of Lindsay is her going off to see the Grateful Dead. She could do better. Bill is the best fucking thing ever, though. Every scene with him is hysterical. Is that actor doing anything of note these days?

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

I wanted to respond to this, but felt that doing so in the CE folder would take that thread scandalously off-topic and probably raise somebody's ire. But, listen, if you have to take a job at a gas station, then so be it. I didn't want to do it, either, but I did. In the process, I made some pretty good contacts should I ever want to start smoking crack. Plus, I saw some things--horrible things, unspeakable things--that I hope to someday write about. And chicks dig bullet wounds, so whatever. I say go for it. I'd really like to have a college degree just so that I could have some sort of hope for the future, but I've had plenty of friends over the years who have similarly lamented having gotten a degree in something that didn't really create a lot of job opportunities for them. Where are the jobs, man? I'm to the point where I just want to be one of those office blobs at the Pit. In fact, that sometimes sounds like almost too much to ask of life.

What sort of mac 'n' cheese

Did you guys hear that pbone is running for public office? Our government probably needs more privileged children of great wealth calling the shots, so cool. I'm hopeful that I can somehow use the few thousand words about sodomy and his love of racist jokes that he's written here to blackmail him.

What sort of mac 'n' cheese

You know, that stuff really isn't any good for you. I hope your parents fired the nanny or butler who let you eat that tripe. As for the rest of us, well...we were lucky just to get a meal.

What sort of mac 'n' cheese

Honestly, there are certain instances where nothing but Velveeta "cheese" will do.

What sort of mac 'n' cheese

I find the store brand stuff to be indistinguishable from Kraft mac 'n cheese. The best is the slightly more high-end mac that comes in white cheddar. I forget what it's called, but it has a bunny on the box, if that's any help. Put some tuna in there and that's good eating.

    NFL Week 11

Wow. Couple of fucking duds on Thanksgiving this year. Maybe I'll go see a movie instead.

    NFL Week 11

People need to come to terms with the fact that we'll all be watching Detroit and Tennessee on Thanksgiving. I mean, holy shit. There aren't even any other options. Everything is closed.

    NFL Week 11

So Cadillac Williams was officially added to the active roster today. This is really good news, as it gives the Bucs three viable running backs to power what has been at times an almost non-existant running game. Of probably greater relevance to the upcoming Minnesota game is the improved condition of fullback B.J. Askew, who has been dearly missed over the last month. Although I guess you can't run against the Vikings, can you? Oh, well. Still great to see all of our guys getting healthy in time for the stretch run.

    NFL Week 11

NY Jets at New England I hope BenJarvus Green-Ellis becomes a huge star. Best name in football, bar none. Plus, . As for this game, I think New England takes it. They're the better team and it's in Foxboro. Denver at Atlanta Atlanta showed last week that they can give up a ton of passing yards to a prolific offense and still win. See no reason why this game won't play out the same. Falcons by 10. Houston at Indianapolis Houston just can't get anything going and the Colts are starting to get their shit together. I'll take Indy. Tennessee at Jacksonville I actually like the Jaguars to win this one. Collins will throw a few picks and the Jags offense will capitalize. Oakland at Miami Boy, Miami is getting fat on these marshmallows right now. Is it inconceivable to think that they could win their division? Dolphins all the way here. Baltimore at NY Giants Hmm. Good matchup here. The Ravens are coming in hot and the Giants just played a tough intradivision game. Still, I like the Giants to keep rolling in this one. Detroit at Carolina The Panthers should crush Detroit. Carolina is another team that only ever seems to play garbage teams. Philadelphia at Cincinnati Philadelphia by 30. They always beat up on shitty teams. Chicago at Green Bay I loves me some Ortman here. Matt Forte should have a big day, too. Bears win a close one. New Orleans at Kansas City My mild upset special. KC has been flirting with winning all of these games recently and I think they'll finally break through in this one. Minnesota at Tampa Bay I'm sure I'll post a million times about this in the coming week. The short version is that I like Tampa to win. St. Louis at San Francisco Mike Singletary gets his first win as a head coach. Arizona at Seattle Seattle is fucking awful. Cards by 20. San Diego at Pittsburgh I'm not a believer in San Diego. The Steelers should expose them here. Dallas at Washington Hmm. Romo returns, but it's at Washington. Portis should have a field day. 'Skins win. Cleveland at Buffalo Buffalo gets back on track at home. Cleveland is officially done.

    The College Football Thread 11/11 - 11/15

I can agree a bit with what you and Cheech are saying. In some ways, USC are victims of circumstance this year, as it's not really their fault that the rest of the Pac-10 is so awful. But considering the way that the two teams' respective schedules play out, there's no way that you could reasonably argue that a one-loss USC deserves to play in the NC game more than a one-loss Florida. USC's only win of any substance will have been against a not-very-good Ohio State team playing without their best offensive player.

    T. Rex - Electric Warrior

haha. But, listen, read this: What the hell is this guy talking about? Say what you will about his records, but Marc Bolan is the worst lyricist this side of Donovan. Or Robert Plant.

    T. Rex - Electric Warrior

I'm listening to this now and, yeah, you're dead wrong. Shit, I have almost no tolerance for "the blues" or blues riffs but "Lean Woman Blues" is awesome. In over five years of dating, this was one of the few records that I was able to get the ex-girlfriend into.

    T. Rex - Electric Warrior

I can't deny any album that has "Cosmic Dancer" on it. Or even a song called "Cosmic Dancer." And "Monolith" is actually really good. It showcases those crazy, howling backing vocals that are all over Electric Warrior. The latter half of the album is a little more in line with Marc Bolan's pre-glam Tyrannosaurus Rex style.

    NFL Week 11

Something with his ankle, I think. Watching the game, it was obvious that he was badly hurt. His leg was bent in a very unnatural position and Steve Smith was jumping up and down, pleading for some medical attention for the guy. Rumor had it that he would never play again. I don't know that it would rate all that high on the Theismann scale, but for a running back an injury like that can be pretty bad news.
