You're right, you know. I've at least done one really great thing, which is more than most of these miserable fuckers can claim. But having already painted my masterpiece, where do I find the will to continue painting?

So this is happening pretty soon. I'll be flying out on the 22nd. I understand that the town I'll be living in, Bremerton, is a hotbed of drug-related violent crime. But on the plus side, it's only a 60 minute ferry ride away from downtown Seattle. And once there, I'll be but a 60 minute fairy ride away from ecstasy. So, all right.

I sometimes fear that I peaked both as a poster and as a person with that underwear picture back in 2003. Like it was the one perfect thing that I ever did and I've just been spinning my wheels ever since, trying to recapture some long-lost magic.

Now I read that Shockey is hated in the New Orleans locker room and could potentially get DeAngelo Hall-ed before too long. I should probably just drop the guy altogether, but I can't help but think that he's eventually going to bounce back and have a big game. Especially with Brees throwing 50 times a game, and with the Saints constantly playing from behind because their defense is so awful. I don't know. It'll definitely be Zack Miller next week, though.

The Saints are pretty much done, which makes the NFC South a threeway race between the Bucs, Falcons, and Panthers. Carolina has a one game lead in the division, but one of their two losses came in an embarrassing thrashing at the hands of Tampa a few weeks back. Tampa also holds a head-to-head victory over Atlanta. If we can take care of business at home against a deflated and injury-depleted Saints team, I'd feel pretty okay about splitting the other two remaining division games, both of which are on the road. I think the division title will ultimately go to either us or Carolina, and the other team will be one of the two wild cards.

Hey, good thing I signed BenJarvus Green-Ellis. A big rebound from last week's narrow victory, as I crushed the War Daddies by something like 20 points. I'm done with this fucking Jeremy Shockey horseshit, though. Until that whiny bitch starts doing anything, he's benched.

Just tell me it'll all be over soon, Gene.

In preparing for my contribution here, I went back and read a bunch of threads from the 2004-2006 period. It's sort of fascinating to see how much more vicious everyone was back then in contrast to how generally polite this folder is now. I attribute it to Inc posting less and Agent not being on drugs anymore. I had actually never seen that Val Venis post before. That's pretty funny. And I missed Banders entirely the first time through, so I read a bunch of his threads. Had to be there, I guess.

This will not happen. I hope you're not pinning your hopes on this happening. And I have absolutely no problem with Texas being ahead of Florida in the BCS rankings. If the Gators continue to play the way they have since that Ole Miss debacle, there won't be any keeping them out of the title game.

Whatever that was notwithstanding, Tyler Thigpen looks pretty good. He could potentially save that team the trouble of having to draft a QB in the 1st round next year.
-
Oh, yes. Just win, baby. The Panthers losing to Oakland would make my weekend. Edit: Oh, well. It was probably unwise of me to pin my hopes to the Raiders.
-
They also have a new coach, running back, GM, etc. Remember when they took all of those wide receivers with early-round picks and none of them really worked out? Well, turns out that was because they had a shitty, overrated glorified running back at QB. Now that there's a real QB under center, all of those guys are shining.
-
Horrible pass protection. Jamal Brown has been getting abused by John Abraham all day. And it doesn't help Brees any that the team has no running game. Atlanta has been the better team all day and in all phases. This one just about sticks a fork in New Orleans.
-
Yeesh. The Jets are up 40-0 on the Rams. So much for that thing getting turned around. Trent Green is in at QB.
-
Didn't the Saints trade for Jeremy Shockey before the season? Watching this game, you'd have no idea that he was even on the team. For a guy with such a brash, obnoxious, Kid Rock-esque personality, he sure seems to disappear a lot. And, yeah, I know he's been hurt. Suck it up. A sports hernia? Get the fuck out of here. Oh, and Matt Ryan is really, really good.

Even if I had any money, I wouldn't pay $100+ to stay the night at a hotel. I'm likely just going there to sleep, so who gives a shit what the place is like? As long as it isn't obviously filthy or in a bad neighborhood, I'm game.

Texas Tech is looking damn near unstoppable tonight. A Texas Tech-Florida National Championship game could be pretty wild.
-
Actually, it occurs to me now that he's staying at a hostel on W. 107th street. I've never been to NYC, so none of that means anything to me. In fact, I'm having a little trouble imagining a place with 107 streets.
-
You'd have to ask him. That's why I posted the number.

What's up with that song in the country music awards commercial? Both "Werewolves of London" and "Sweet Home Alabama?" Things are setting up really well for Florida. If the 41 year old Mike Gundy can pull one out tonight, I'll be feeling even better.
-
So it's a friend of Gorilla Monsoon's? How disappointing.
-
So it looks like Daunte Culpepper is going to get the start for the Lions on Sunday. You'll recall that Culpepper "retired" not too long ago and just signed with Detroit this week. I see no way that this team wins a game this year. It just isn't going to happen.
-
Well, who is it? As a pending TSM Hall of Famer, I feel that I have a right to know.
-
Good thing you grew out of that. Yeah, Kwanzaa is bullshit. It's telling that the thing has been around for the entirety of our lives, but none of us know what it's about or what purpose it serves. Black people are overwhelmingly Christian, and thus celebrate Christmas. There's no need for a secondary holiday.

The OAO TSM "Happy Birthday, you!" Thread
Kinetic replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in No Holds Barred
Lots of birthdays today. Incandenza is 5 (gonna get you that BMX we've been talking about, sport). niskie is 34! Old as fucking dirt. 34! Holy shit. Second tier poster Zetterberg is God also celebrated a birthday today, as did foleyfanforever88.
