Well, with the Cardinals it has a lot more to do with the overall crappiness of their division than the quality of that team. We should all be so fortunate as to have a team in the NFC West. Or the AFC West, for that matter.

Yeah! Fist pump! I needed something out of Hines Ward to get a victory last night, and he gave me just enough. I'm somehow 6-3 now, even though most of my key guys have been going through a bit of slump recently. God bless Antonio Bryant. Without him, I would have scored in the high 20s this week.

Yeah, I was going to say that for whatever the reasons behind the constant QB benchings/injuries and coach firings, it's led to one of the more wildly unpredictable NFL seasons in recent memory. It's pretty refreshing after last year's inevitable march toward destiny, which was only unpredictable at the end.

Woof. 8-6 for the week. 81-49 overall.

I actually think Gruden would be an excellent college coach--possibly better than he is a pro coach--but would rather him stay in Tampa. I'm just not sure who we could hire that would be any better. And with things going fairly well this year and him just signing an extension a few months ago, I doubt the guy is going anywhere.

Should probably replace that first one. Perhaps with Love's "Alone Again Or."

I voted here (although I won't say for whom), but neglected to register in real life. I assumed--probably incorrectly, as it turns out--that Georgia wouldn't be in play, and decided not to waste the time or effort on voting. If McCain ends up winning, I have no right to say a bad word about the man for the next four years or until he dies, whichever comes first.

The timing of this whole "elderly grandmother dying" thing just seems a little suspicious to me. I think the guy checked The Pit, saw his lagging poll numbers, and decided to have her taken out for the inevitable sympathy bump.

I'll be spending tomorrow evening in the university's library, as I feel that's the last place the rampaging darkies will strike as they celebrate or protest the result of the election. If I don't make it back, tell all of my OkCupid contacts that I love them.

How good are we willing to consider Atlanta right now? That was a really dominant performance on the road yesterday, even if it was against a terrible team. It looked considerably more impressive than Tampa having to battle back from a 21 point deficit against Kansas City. The thing with Atlanta is that is seems like they must have run through every shitty team in the league by now. They've played Oakland, Detroit, Kansas City, etc. Their best win is over Chicago, I guess. Maybe Green Bay. So while I'm actually willing to let the Falcons into the "For Real" tent right now, I don't think they'll be able to overcome Tampa and/or Carolina in the NFC South. Matt Ryan is going to really good for a long time, though. Ron Mexico getting thrown in jail will prove to be the best thing that ever happened to that franchise.

Let's say, just for the sake of argument, that Tennessee doesn't end up in the Super Bowl. Who else is there in the AFC? The usual suspects--Indy, New England, and San Diego--are all down and haven't been able to string together more than few good quarters here and there. I wouldn't favor any of them to beat Tennessee. After a promising start, Buffalo has faded. Does anyone really buy the Jets as a championship contender? Denver's defense is terrible. I think Pittsburgh might be the only other viable contender, and I seriously doubt that Roethlisberger would survive the first half with his o-line matched up against Tennessee's d-line. Anything can happen, obviously, but it's looking more and more like the Titans are clearly the best team in the AFC, while the NFC is a total toss-up.

That is correct. Can't call it unexpected, although I thought they'd wait until after the season. What massively-hyped coach from outside the BCS conferences will they bring in to replace him?
-
You're on. And it'd sweeten the pot considerably if you could get a picture of you doing that while a nearby Israel Idonije ties his shoes from a fully-erect position. All right. Go Titans!

I probably just need a blowjob. That usually cheers me up.

The camera was out of juice, so I didn't take any. The sorta ex-girlfriend went as The Butcher. She had quite a bit of luck at getting these tramp-stamped sorority girl types to dance with her. It was the strangest thing. The other girl went as a Cub Scout and got hit on by a bunch of pedophiles. She eventually went home with one of them, I guess. While I had a decent time, I've been in a horrible funk since that night. I've just felt completely defeated all weekend. Both of my football games went well and I quit my shit-ass convenience store job, but I'm still sulking around. Holidays, I guess.

I had a friend who I would often refer to as "Professor Asshole" due to his very conservative wardrobe. I was channeling him a little this Halloween, I think.

Just to follow up on that: Fuck me, New Day Rising is so fucking good. And to think of all the years I wasted thinking that I didn't like this band.

Yeah, I kind of felt like I was watching two below average teams tonight. The Colts show glimpses of being the offensive force they've been in years past, but then do nothing for long periods of time. The Pats are just really vanilla on offense. I think I'm finally ready to come around to the idea that the Titans are the best team in football.
-
I went in drag a few years ago and actually attracted more female attention than usual. Probably should have done that this year. The Professor got no play.
-
And that's in Oakland, too. JaMarcus Russell is awful, but I don't even blame him. No one could succeed in that situation.
-
Actually, here's one positive I can take away from Tampa's win today: Antonio Bryant is "for real." He had what I believe was his best game for us so far, and he caught the TD pass that enabled us to go to overtime. And Michael Clayton had a couple of big plays. So, y'know, there's some stuff. It wasn't all bad.
-
Oh, there's no way in hell that I'm going to argue that the Bucs are the 2nd best team in the NFC. This team absolutely cannot play well on the road. Can't run the ball, can't complete a pass for more than five yards, can't stop the run, can't do anything. We were incredibly fortunate to win this game. I don't know what the fuck was going on with Earnest Graham and his two fumbles, but we badly need Warrick Dunn to get healthy and back on the field. God bless Clifton Smith, even though he had a fumble, too. And despite the fact that it was embarrassing for my team, I sorta marked out for the Thigpen TD catch. So, yeah, even though we ended up winning, it's hard to take anything positive away from this game. We barely edged a horrible Chiefs team. Super Bowl, here we come.

I'd second all of Richard's nominees and add "Waterloo Sunset" and "You Really Got Me" by the Kinks and "I Can't Explain" by the Who.

I ended up talking to this one guy in a Hulk Hogan costume. His knowledge of pro wrestling history was sorely lacking.

That whole run of Mike Singletary jokes made me laugh really hard.
