Uh, yeah. It'd be a lot more awesome than you playing guitar for that Asian guy, I tell you what.
-
Also traded today was former Bills 1st rounder DT John McCargo, who was shipped to Indianapolis for a 4th round pick.
-
This occured to me, as well. They obviously can't just go with "R. Williams" for either guy, nor could they spell out the entire first name. Do we get into middle initials here or is it just assumed that people will be able to tell the difference because they won't ever be on the field at the same time? If the Cowboys were to sign Roydell Williams in the offseason, I think my head might explode.

His evidently earth-shattering stint as director of Thomas the Tank Engine puts the lie to that notion, Cheech. He's also been a part of a lot of all-star jams over the years. And he was on The Simpsons, although that episode will now seem bittersweet considering these new developments.

So, yeah, it's picks in the 1st, 3rd, and 6th rounds for Roy Williams and a 7th rounder. Remember when the Pats got Randy Moss for a 4th round pick? LOL.
-
That seems like a lot to give up for Roy Williams. Unless they thought Philly was going to get him if they didn't act now, I don't know why you wouldn't just wait until the offseason and try to sign him as a free agent. A lot of people have attributed Dallas's recent resurgence to the savvy of Bill Parcells and have predicted that they'd fall back into mediocrity after a few years of Jerry Jones making all of the personnel decisions. So, uh...yeah. I don't really get this trade.

But...but...what's to become of all of my charcoal drawings of Pete Best?? Who will sign and/or greenlight the two-piece beard-and-glasses Ringo Starr Halloween costume I've been perfecting for the last decade? To whom will I send the pages and pages of diary entries in which I analyze clues in recent Paul McCartney albums that suggest that Linda McCartney has died? Fuck this, man, so depressing. Here's Ringo back when he was cool: name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>&"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350" /> "The famous ex-Beatle who of course went on to even greater fame directing 'Thomas the Tank Engine.'" WTF.

Pacman Jones has been suspended indefinitely by the league. How 'bout them Cowboys? Is it really that hard to envision a scenario in which this team completely melts down and fails to make the playoffs? Romo's out for a month, TO is living on a powderkeg and giving off sparks, Pacman's been suspended, Terrance Newman and Sam Hurd and Felix Jones are also hurt, they've got a lame-duck coach...on and on and on. And they have a very small margin for error playing in that brutal division. I think these guys are in a lot of trouble.

Just replace him with Frank Caliendo. No one would be able to tell the difference.

The trade deadline is in a few hours, so look for a lot of speculation but very few actual trades. That said, Kansas City and Detroit are rumored to have a lot of name guys on the block, and I sort of hope that Tony Gonzalez manages to get off of that awful Chiefs team. Although we've been fairly active in trades over the last few years, I don't see the Bucs doing anything this time around. Our only area of need right now is at FB, and I can't imagine our FO giving up a draft pick or anything to fill that position.

It's 11:30 here. The store I work at actually doesn't sell alcohol at all. On Fridays and Saturdays, I spend much of the evening redirecting the frat boys and football people to the "package store" across the street.

Hipsters and Asians works for me. I know it's sort of silly and I'm probably setting myself up for disappointment, but the one overwhelming positive that I can take from this whole situation is that I finally get to start fucking different bitches.

I got crushed yesterday. My receiving corps is a mess at the moment, with Roy Williams having a down year. I can't seem to get anything consistent out of my TEs, either. It seems like if Cutler and Marion Barber don't have monster days, I'm sunk.

Here's the Asheville Tourists logo I was referring to earlier. I always thought this was one of the sillier, least-imposing nicknames in all of American sports.
-
I assume Brad Johnson will be starting. I had marked the Dallas game as being a real "prove it" game for the Bucs and had more or less assumed that they would lose. This helps a lot. We could be looking at a 7-2 start.
-
I'm thinking that I'm probably going to end up doing this. How are the women up there? Lots of hippies and Asians, I hope.

Just outside of Seattle. The short version is that my girlfriend wants to move to Raleigh (her hometown) and doesn't want me to go with her, so my options are either going back to Asheville or moving up with my parents in Washington. Living with my parents would obviously be a temporary thing.
-
The minor league baseball team in Asheville is known as "the Tourists." Their logo is a bear with a suitcase and maps. I believe he's also wearing a Hawaiin shirt. We had the D-League "Asheville Altitude" up there for a while, too.

Guy's a sociopath. I feel sorry for his relatives, whose only crime was being sexy. He should be locked up somewhere safe, where he can never start any topics at this board ever again.

It's just like, it's just like, a message board

I don't really "get" black people, y'know? But it isn't anything serious. I don't really "get" the show "Hole in the Wall," either. -
Y'know, the best part of the year is football season. But the best part of football season is the part where Joe Buck is doing baseball instead. Although I do kind of miss Buck Facts, I guess.

Seriously, fuck Texas being the new #1. They beat OU in a very tough game at a neutral site. Alabama completely embarrassed the preseason #1 at home. I couldn't give a shit about Bama one way or another, but they deserve to go to #1. Just picked the wrong week to take off, I guess.

Warrick Dunn had over 100 yards rushing today. Warrick Dunn.

The game-winning Atlanta kick got the pop of the week at the sports bar I was at. Pretty fun stuff. The end of the Washington-St. Louis game was awesome, too. Whooo, football.
