Bucs trade an as yet undisclosed 2nd day pick to Chicago for Brian Griese. What the fuck?
-
Alas, it had an unfamiliar file extension.
-
I'm now having trouble finding where I read that. Looks like it was just the 2nd this year.
-
I read that it was a 2nd this year and a 2nd next year, I think. As it stands, the Browns won't have a pick on the first day this year.
-
Same here. I'm also partial to "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart," having lost certain elements of my virginity while listening to it.

The Bucs have $44 million in cap room heading into free agency. Unfortunately, this crop of free agents is weak in most of the areas where we need help.

Walking home from work the other night, I saw one that read "I need a drink." That was exactly what I had been thinking. Do you think God was trying to tell me to get wasted? -

Also: They say a man should always dress for the job he wants So why am I dressed up like a pirate in this restaurant? It's all because some hackers stole my identity Now I'm in here every evening serving chowder and iced tea Should have gone to Free Credit Report dot com I could have seen this coming at me like an atom bomb They monitor your credit Send you e-mail alerts So you don't end up selling fish to tourists in t-shirts This one hits especially close to home. -

Off the top of my head: Well, I married my dream girl I married my dream girl But she didn't tell me her credit was bad So now instead of living in a pleasant suburb We're living in the basement at her Mom and Dad's No, we can't get a loan for a respectable home Just because my girl defaulted on some old credit cards If I'd gone to Free Credit Report dot com I'd be a happy bachelor with a dog and a yard I watch a lot of TV at work. -
I'd make an Allen Iverson joke, but what's the point? You've never even heard of the guy!

There is something decidedly unAmerican about a hockey highlight being ESPN's all-time greatest highlight. The fact that it comes down to Boise State's game-winning play vs. the "Miracle on Ice" suggests to me that it's people my age voting either for something that they actually saw or something that they saw in a movie.

Wonderful. My unholy trinity of awful on-air personalities at ESPN had been Salisbury-Screamin' A.-Skip Bayless.

Yeah, Austin-Hogan would have zero appeal to anyone who wouldn't already be inclined to order Wrestlemania. I don't know that Mayweather's involvement is going to push this show over the top, but it does create discussion of wrestling in circles where it's typically ignored. A dream match (of sorts) involving two guys known primarily for wrestling would not do that.

Kevin Faulk was apparently arrested for marijuana possession at a Lil Wayne show. Make your own punchline.

Yes. And the period between 1980 and now has pushed the entire conversation so far to the right that what passes for liberalism in a general election is really just a less harsh version of what the Republicans are selling.
-
Do you know what would have happened if the Supreme Court had elected Al Gore back in 2000? Gore has this reputation as being a staunch environmentalist, but the liberal media fails to report major advancements being made by Bush. For instance, did you know that there are more trees now than there have ever been at any point in human history? It's true. I know because I read it on a message board. Also, 9/11 almost certainly still would have happened under Gore. Liberals being notoriously soft on 9/11s probably would have emboldened the terrorists, so it's hardly a stretch to suggest that Gore being elected in 2000 would have been the beginning of the end for the American skyscraper.

John Cena calls out the The Rock for leaving wrestling
Kinetic replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
I would imagine that this is the consensus opinion within WWE. There's got to be some harsh feelings considering that he's a guy who owes his career to them, and here they are having to pander to him by inducting his relatives into their "Hall of Fame" just to get him to show up at any of their events. -
Can you imagine Tiger Woods cutting a wrestling promo? I haven't paid money to watch wrestling in about five years, but brotha...I would pay to see that.

John Cena calls out the The Rock for leaving wrestling
Kinetic replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
I guess you could argue that it would be nice for The Rock to do things like RAW anniversary specials and other self-congratulatory back-pattings (like the HOF induction, which he is doing), but he's clearly under no obligation to do so. From a realistic fan's perspective, the ideal role for Rock in WWE is basically for him to do what Austin does: show up once or twice a year, run through his litany of catchphrases, interact with some of the current talent, and then go away. -
All right, that's a 4.59 for Manningham. He'll be around in the 2nd round, no doubt.
-
My pick looks awful after the Combine. Did I read correctly that Manningham ran the 40 in the 4.9 area? Good god.

See, the way I've got it figured is that Garcia's good for another two seasons. After that, we can ride the wave of the Jake Plummer comeback until the 2012-2013 season, easily. Then Chris Simms, with it having been established that his previous deficiencies as a QB were almost entirely due to his abnormally heavy spleen, will lead us to championship glory many times over. So we're set, thanks.

Atlanta would be the other one where every guy currently on the roster has been a failure. Carolina still has Delhomme and Miami may or may not like John Beck. Minnesota would be another team that might be interested. Lovie Smith likes the guy too much to get rid of him, though. Rex is your quarterback.
-
He might have some trouble unseating the guy who hasn't started a game since junior high for the backup spot.

Tell that to his mother, who recently celebrated her 125th birthday.
