So, are the 1972 Miami Dolphins really the greatest team ever?
Kinetic replied to JimmyHendricks's topic in Sports
This year's New England team will be remembered, by virtue of having posted the only 16-0 regular season record in NFL history. Beyond that, their legacy is as the best single-season team to not win a championship. -
As someone who lives in the South and couldn't possibly care less about baseball, I don't give a shit about any kind of New York-Boston rivalry. My issue with the Pats themselves is their incredible smugness. Beyond that, the only issue is the way that the media walks on eggshells around Belichick and just goes fucking nuts any time anyone on any team says anything that could even abstractly be interpreted as something that doesn't just assume that the Patriots will crush any team they play. Honestly, I didn't even really dislike New England until this year.

I was walking on air today. I haven't felt this good coming off of an NFL game in five years.

It's kind of bizarre and amusing (though soon to turn frustrating, I'm sure) that we're going to get an offseason full of "What's wrong with New England" and "How can they rebuild?"
-
That doesn't exactly live up to their earlier claim that Perfectville would be changed forever.

What a game. Regardless of whatever happens for the rest of his career, I will never speak a negative word about Eli Manning ever again.

Don't kill the messenger. More reputable news sources than TSM's Kinetic are using the word "Report."

Yes, the only indie rock publication bold enough to suggest that aborting children is better than letting them be raised by liberals. How I long to write for them, to be in their midst. I think we can agree that the only four viable candidates left are Romney, McCain, Obama, and Clinton. Let's look at this: Romney: Mormon. Seedy used car salesman type. Can't be trusted. McCain: A wolf in sheep's clothing. There's a bit of chipmunk in there, too. Obama: Ties to al-Qaeda. Clinton: Do we really want another Clinton presidency? The answer is clear: Four more years!

I suspect that Arlen Spector's heart is in the right place here, but I can't help but feel that his campaign to get to the bottom of this situation will be undermined by his strong physical resemblance to the Noid: Uncanny.

I can't vouch for the veracity of this piece. Still, it brings up some interesting points:

The clincher in Inc's Darryl Worley scrapbook has sadly disappeared.

So it's being reported that the Patriots filmed the Rams walk-through the day before their Super Bowl game a few years ago. The period between then and the beginning of this season would obviously encompass the three SB victories New England's had this decade, and there's no reason to believe that they stopped taping their opponents at any point prior to the second week of this season. It might be time to pull out the asterisks (*).

Some real patriots in here. Anyone want to join me in protesting a screening of Cloverfield tonight?

I actually considered posting the lyrics to that song. Because I was concerned, y'know. That people had forgotten.

Like that of America's--nay, God's-- Team, my Pursuit of Perfection is alive and well.

What gimmick? This is my 4,500th post. I didn't register here six years ago and post thousands of times for the sole purpose of eventually arguing this point. Or did I?

My research shows that no less a figure than Ronald Reagan supported repealing the 22nd amendment. And that was before 9/11! What a visionary.
-
I'm not saying dictatorship. You're putting words in my mouth. Don't do that. All I'm saying is that complexities of the situation we've been in since 9/11 require more than the normal two terms a president is allowed under the current system. Give the man at least four more years to finish the job. Besides, what says "Greetings From America" better than a big ol' Texas-sized cowboy boot up the ass? You're just not going to get that from this current crop of presidential candidates.
-
Damn right, JSYK! But does it make sense for a nation still reeling from an unprecedented attack on its own soil and the various things on top of that soil to literally change the foot that the boot is on? The ass hasn't changed. Why should the foot? Why should the boot?
-
It so changed everything that we're only now beginning to realize how it changed things and the extent to which they were changed.
-
Hey, ErnieRowe. 9/10 called. They want their thinking back.

Only 22? Don't forget special teams players and reserves.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

Can Marvin just go ahead and succumb to his terminal illness? Guy's killing me with his Glenn Beck horseshit up in CE.
