Well, IDRM, it may be and it may not be. ICP are huge wrestling fans, and drop as many references to hardcore wrestling as they do old-school. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if it was a reference to Boris Malenko. Speaking of ICP, one of the lines in the Dark Lotus song "I Don't Care" (which is featured in JCW vol. 2 during the music video, FYI) is: That was actually Jamie Madrox that rapped that line, I believe.

The only reality shows I've ever liked was "Murder in Small Town X" and "Fear," and that's because they weren't just some stupid fucking "HEY! WACKY SITUATIONS! HEY LOOK! THIS GUY IS VOTING AGAINST THAT OTHER GUY, AND HE DOESN'T KNOW IT! OH MY! THIS RICH GIRL IS GOING TO HAVE TO WORK NOW!" horseshit we get now. My friend Monica put it best: "I'm just expecting 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire's Janitor For A Week' to come on Fox any day now." Ricochet doesn't look too bad. That 70's Show is still on? I'm surprised. I mean, the first season took place in 1977, right? Who would've thought that they'd squeeze 6 seasons out of a show that has a 3-year span (story-wise). Plus, the show's sucked ever since Eric and Donna broke up. That...and Hyde started caring for Jackie. Motherfucker, WHY?!

I realy started watching right when the Attitude era was kicking off, so I was about 11 at the time. I always knew wrestling was fake, but I just started watching because my friend Billy was always quoting Steve Austin (specifically the "and that's the bottom line" bit) around me, and he informed me that he was quoting a WWF wrestler. I started watching, curious, and became hooked. The first match I remember is actually the Tag Team Flag match between Bret Hart/British Bulldog and Vader/The Patriot. Of course, my first PPV was Badd Blood, so hey, it ended with the legendary Hell In A Cell match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels when both men were in their prime. I dig it. It's funny, though, because I was a smark before I even had the 'net. I got the 'net in October 1999, and I already forged my own smark-like opinions about who I liked (mostly a lot of the same guys the smarks liked, coincidentally), didn't like, and the reasons why. I didn't like Hogan outside of the fact that he could get a place interested in a shitty match. I didn't like Kevin Nash outside of his mic work. And I fucking HATED HATED HATED Billy Gunn when Road Dogg wasn't carrying his ass. I also felt there were too many old guys in WCW and not enough good matches in the WWF. Weird, eh?

Or possibly anymore, as this week begins my senior finals, next week finishes off my senior finals, and the following week? Hopefully a full-time job to allow myself to save up for an apartment so I can get the hell out of my parent's house. Although, in truth, I may revamp the Rush and present it in an easier format that would take less time to do (as it is, it's taking nearly 3 and a half hours to do all of the PBP and talk about why I did or did not like the match) and still be pretty in-depth. I contacted somebody about it, but they have yet to hit me back.

Yeah, I have to agree with Mike here. Kash has been in some fun matches in TNA, and while not a stellar wrestler, he has the heel stick down enough to make the matches interesting. He pulls off his moves usually very crisp, and the MoneyMaker is still a SICK looking move, regardless of who he does it to. Besides...look at the roster. Who DOES have an offense that doesn't consist of either generic moves for their style, few moves, or just make their moves look like shit? Seriously. It seems that TNA is limiting the quality of matches even more than WWE has in the past few years.

Mike Tenay's column up on NWATNA.com
Corey_Lazarus replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in TNA Wrestling
I saw one XPW match of his from Go Funk Yourself against Pogo...it was terrible, and it didn't seem to be because of that worthless sack of shit Pogo either. Sure, he dragged down the rating, but all Nosawa did was...guess. Yep, that's right...DROPKICKS! If the man is this great worker that you claim him to be, then why doesn't he do at least something OTHER than a fucking basement dropkick or a knife-edge chop in TNA? -

...WHY NOSAWA?! He's SHIT in the ring, has NO uniqe characteristics or abilities, and his entire offense is BASEMENT DROPKICKS! FUCK NOSAWA. -
...who feuded with a heel "HACKSAW" JIM DUGGAN when he joined Team Canada in late 2000 WCW...

I think the match from the 5/5/00 FMW Anniversary show (Hayabusa/Tanaka) is better than the one on the Flying Assassin DVD, personally. Bad ending, though.

I highly doubt that I'll be doing the TNA Lazarush anymore here at TSM. Or anywhere else, for that matter. I'm too pressed for time, and the TNA product in general has become a chore for me to watch after seeing every match resemble one another for so long now.

Well, considering it's just a reference, and Milenko, according to the Dark Carnival story, is a Joker's Card that shows you visions of what could have been in order to lure you to your death...they can spell it wrong. But yes, I'd imagine it's a reference to Boris Malenko.

YELLOW HAT GUY!~!~~! **marks out** I think Hunter needs to at least get back to how he looked in 2000. Do more cardio and sit-up's, focus less on weights.

Meh. Better than the 13 week deal, but since it's still only one hour long, and is going to be on during a time when most people are either working or in school or going out with friends, I'd say it's still fucked. Now, give it a Saturday morning position if they want to attract the kiddies? Probably do a little better.

Try to find out where the band Nevermore rehearses...and ask Warrell Dane to stop thinking he can sing high. Unique singing voice, but he can't go too high-pitched, yet he tries to all the time.

Why did you name yourself THAT?
Corey_Lazarus replied to Prophet of Mike Zagurski's topic in General Chat
I was born, first, they threw me in a shit pile. So I dealt with it, and lived there for a while. I got flipped off, pissed off, and beaten down. Mutilated, and tossed out a dead clown. The next thing you know, I'm chilling at the big top. Tons of money, and mad bitches nonstop. No water, it's Faygo I tap. I wash my hair and my neck and buttcrack with it, because I can. Because I'm phat paid. I've got a five-story funhouse with a maid. And she walks around with her titties hanging out. And when I cough? Woo, she comes and dusts my balls off. Heading to show, we're gonna see: Jimi Hendrix, Selena, and Eazy E. Elvis tried to open up but got dissed off. We got pissed off, because he sounded like BUTT. There's not fights, it's a perfect match. Hillbillies in the crowd trying to cabbage patch. And to think, I've always been afraid to die. But I ain't ever going back to wondering why. -
...I think this may be the last Lazarush I do for a lonnnnng time...
-
At the beginning of Skinless' "The Optimist," they have a sample of Vince McMahon saying "life sucks, and then you die." Quality. I'm surprised Slayer hasn't done a song with ANY wrestling reference whatsoever in it, considering Kerry King is a huge fucking wrestling fan (even appeared at XPW's inaugural Baptized In Blood to announce the main event).

How sad is it when TNA has had more ladder matches in a year than WWE has in 3, and none of the TNA ones match up at all? Something should be said about Styles/Raven, though. Decent match, hampered only by interference and an overall clash of styles (since AJ is a high-flyer usually, and Raven is a pure brawler).
-
Yeah. I find it funny how Hayabusa was the first to do the Phoenix Splash...but his is so much sloppier than that of others (especially LowKi, who has the most beautiful Phoenix Splash I've ever seen), and he's botched it plenty of times. My favorite spot (not sure if it's in that match or the one between Gannosuke and Hayabusa on the Flying Assassin DVD) is when Gannosuke hits a SNAP Falcon Arrow. That just made the move look so much cooler.
-
I have that DVD where Gannosuke and Hayabusa wrestle with HBK as the ref. Solid, solid match. Undercard BLOWS (aside from Masato Tanka and some fat, shitty worker in an Electrified Cage, which was decent because of Masato Tanaka's awesomeness as a brawler), but Gannosuke and Hayabusa pulled off a nice, nice match.

From a work perspective, yes. But from an atmosphere perspective? Going to an NECW show is like being a little mark again. Plus...Sabotage fucking rules. Eddie Edwards is going to be a big indy name one day, mark my words.
