House Of The Dead, Time Crisis 2, and Virtua Cop 2 get my vote. Crypt Killers and CarnEvil get my vote for "worst."

Rolling Stones Top Ten Movies of 2003.
Corey_Lazarus replied to BlackFlagg's topic in Television & Film
The complete lack of Pirates Of The Caribbean has made me bitter, as I LOVED that movie. -
If Russo and somebody known for their great old-school booking, say Watts, were to join forces and find a happy medium, the product could be outstanding. That is, of course, if they let the workers do anything within a list of guidelines (like, not using the finisher of another opponent, not brushing off a DEATH maneuever, etc.). Old-School Booking + Sports Entertainment + Solid In-Ring Competition = Quality Wow...I just described TNA from this summer...

Your favorite state to live in? Somewhere in Canada where they don't speak French. Maybe "province" would be better. Your favorite store? Newbury Comics, hands-down. DVDs, funny looking clothes, cool band tees/hoodies, CDs, guitar strings/picks, comic books...etc. Your favorite country to live in? I'm moving to Canada. Your favorite vacation spot? My house with my parents gone and a shitload of alcohol and my best friends. Your favorite sport? Professional wrestling, but if that doesn't count, then hockey. Your favorite actor/ actress? Clea DuVall and Sigourney Weaver are my favorite actresses. As for actor? I'd have to say Edward Norton or Arnold Schwarzenegger (if only because I can only think of one downright GOD-AWFUL movie he's been in, which is Junior). Your favorite (dream) car? 1958 Cadillac Hearse. Your favorite junk food place to eat at? Wendy's, hands-down. Quality food, affordable prices, and guess what? NOTHING TASTES BAD~! Your favorite restaurant to eat at? Main Street Café. Best steak tips in all of Massachusetts.

The one where he's persecuted for being a suburban white teenager and thinks he's being made fun of for being "different," when in reality he's being made fun of because he's a pussy, and cries because of the (much deserved) harassment he endures every day at school...before he goes to the mall to hang with his other persecuted suburban white teenage friends in front of Hot Topic and the comic book store, making fun of everybody that walks by. "You laugh at us because we're different, but I laugh at you because you're all the same." No. I laugh at you because you think dressing like other people makes you different. Take off the uniform, stop your bitching, and that stupid-ass lip piercing your friend did in his basement? That's gotta go. ...oh, and go to a costume shop and buy a tube of white facepaint. It has to be a TUBE, though. That's the white facepaint Raven uses. And I doubt I'd be too far off if I said that the black is just black eyeliner.

^Perhaps a deeper reason as to why Sting left his awesome instrumental theme from '97 and the first half of '98 to use "Seek And Destroy" for his heel turn?! Storm/Townsend is good...but I think a better one would have been Bret/Townsend, if only because Bret > Storm, and Townsend > every other Canadian musician ever.

I thought, from an angle standpoint, that era sucked. However, the matches were still very, very good. Right now, both the angles and the matches suck.
-
Here we go. I'm predicting a shitload of interference tonight, and more slow-as-a-snail booking featuring short, bland matches.
-
Sucks, because he was the only person I've ever seen to pull a watchable (not just one, but TWO) match out of Don Harris. Underrated big man that even kept a SABU match coherent. DING... DING... DING... DING... DING... DING... DING... DING... DING... DING...

Every single fucking album/song but "Seven Nation Army" (White Stripes), "Times Like These" (Foo Fighters), and "Go With The Flow" (Queens Of The Stone Age) sucks. Yep...I fucking hate the Grammies.

Slap your brother for accepting a deal being put together by the father of a member of one of the worst fucking bands in the past decade. That'd almost be as bad as signing a deal with Fred Durst...ALMOST.

I've seen every TNA since Week 4 (7/10/02), and I can honestly say the product has never been as bad as it is right now. Boring-as-fuck workers holding the titles? Check. Consistently disappointing matches that are at a corpse's pace compared to bouts that took place 6 months ago? Check. Boring matches + boring booking = boring show. Nothing TNA is doing is particularly interesting, as Mantel books like Hemingway made sentences: too simple to be drawn into.

With Dusty Rhodes on the shows, NOBODY shouldn't be brought in because they have a gut.

So...it's like a religious zealot of wrestling, only without religion at all? Reboot Code Breaker Firewall {insert character's last name} Virus

Back to Boston? In all honesty, despite the fact that it's a given that something will happen on SD since it's right after WM, I think something big will happen in Boston. They do a LOT of big things in Boston, it seems.

The TitanTron also works as an aid for those in the cheap seats, as they can look at the Tron to see what's happening in the ring.

WWE News: UK drops PPVs, McMahon vs Old-Timers

Wait...WWE is doing something...SMART?! -
I heard Henry also became something of a competent wrestler in OVW while slimming down and being able to move. Re: Val Venis I think he's now just a ladies' man. A playa, if you will. So just give him the gimmick that I have for my e-fed Corey Lazarus (minus the movie star bit; Lazarus is a solid in-ring competitor that likes to joke around, is a ladies' man, and is basically just all-around "what women want, and what men want to be" and stuff), and tell him to focus more on impact than submissions in the ring. Hell, he could continue to try to make Lance into a ladies' man, with Lance being the Richie to Val's Fonz. Yeah, not too much of a stretch from their current schtick, but do you know what? If they focused on putting the angle/gimmick/storyline over while having comedy, like BookDust did, then it could be GOLD. I'd like to see Maven just get fed up with everything and go on a killing streak. Like, not a Goldberg-like streak, or one reserved for a monster, but just going into all-out rampage mode regardless of who he's wrestling. Chairs, tables, cheating, whatever. He has some charisma, a good basic sense of how to wrestle, and just REALLY needs a gimmick. Have Kane go back to his pre-Shane gimmick, where he was the vicious monster that was a little "out there" in the head. Maybe turn him face and make his gimmick more of a "tortured soul" than the EVIL HOSS~!, and try to pair RVD back with him, ie. Rob tries to bring the old Kane back, the one he used to like hanging out with, the REAL Kane, and Kane's torn by his current identity and being human again. Even have him wear the mask here and there to help signify his psychological breakdown. Of course, most of these would require competent writing, which Raw has shown cases of recently...so hey, they just might work.

Steele is gone because his TNA work was the drizzling shits. We're talking Siaki levels.

My favorite episode this season, with Faith+1 being a close second. Then again, I'm an informed smoker, so I have a personal vendetta against the assholes trying to take away something I consciously do without REALLY hurting anybody else...

You could've just hit "reply" instead of "new topic." EZ - His TNA matches weren't that good, really. His one singles match (I forget against who, but it was an X-Division jobber) was just the same old EZ spots, and his only tag match (w/ Siaki vs. Divine Storm) was pretty good. If TNA were to ever bring him back, I'd say put him in a tag team with somebody they either have no ideas on how to use as a singles competitor, or tell him to work how he did in WCW (his best work, IMO). Backseatz - AWESOME tag team. Tons of charisma, excellent masters of their gimmick, and solid in-ring competitors. Acid carries the team, and will be a break-away star one day, but Kashmere is very good as well. If they were to be brought in on a consistent basis, they'd show up too many teams in TNA, and thus would probably be buried or fired due to being, you know...GREAT.

A major booking flaw I found in the main was that Jarrett had complete control during the brawling portions. I do suppose it makes some sense, since Jarrett has been in more brawls, but why didn't AJ get the upper hand during ther brawl seemingly at all? He's been in a few brawls in TNA (vs. Lynn, vs. Raven, vs. D'Lo), and he's held his own there. Why not against Jarrett? Dutch, go watch every ep of TNA from its inception until your latest effort. Should take about a week and a half, but the value of how to book the current roster is immense. I have two RoH comps that Helmet made for me, and I love the matches on them (except for Shane/London, which I thought was boring as fuck, and it certainly wasn't due to London). The only reason I don't buy more RoH tapes is due to monetary constraints, what with having no current employment and all. And JHawk, you'd be that much more pissed off if you were an avid viewer of the product. Just knowing that TNA is capable of so much better and has been reduced to Memphis 2003 makes me pissed off very much.

EXCELLENT plot tonight. EX*CELL*ENT.

I'd rather his paycheck get lost in the shuffle, and his contract fed through a paper shredder.

Cartman: I DON'T IDOLIZE YOU ANYMORE, ASSHOLE! **pokes Rob Reiner in the gut with a fork, and green slime begins pouring out** Rob Reiner: OH NO, MY GOO! MY PRECIOUS GOOOOO!!!!!
