YES!!! AJ KICKED OUT!!!
-
Don West (earlier, when AJ rolled Jarrett Christ back into the ring): "It seems the fans are actually CHEERING AJ!" Duh. 1. AJ's alone, meaning we're not GUARANTEED interference tonight. 2. AJ's great. Every TNA fan knows this. 3. FUCK JEFF JARRETT.
-
Well, considering AJ has been the only main-eventer (besides Raven) to constantly get the same amount of reactions since Jarrett/Raven...I'd say that makes too much sense. And Jarrett Christ has a SECOND-WIND!
-
Here comes Jarrett Christ! He's here to save us all from exciting television and younger, better, more marketable talent from getting over... Wow...I sound almost like 1inch... Well, after tonight, if Jarrett Christ regains the title...hell, it's in my sig anyways. FUCK JEFF JARRETT. As for earlier, specifically Sabin/Daniels/Shane... FUCK MICHAEL SHANE.

Then I guess ALL Romero-based zombie films are "post-Apocalyptic" sci-fi flicks. But being one of TSM's leading horror marks (along with SATANICO~!, ZACK~!, and EVENFLOW~!), I'd say that this is EASILY a horror. If slashers can be considered horror pictures (and they have LESS to do with horror than movies like 28 Days Later and the such), then this is most CERTAINLY a horror picture. And whoever says Alien isn't sci-fi/horror is a dumbass.

All the schools in MA charge an insane amount of money. Also, I'm about 5'10", 225 lbs...how do you think I'd fare at a wrestling school?

Setback or Blessing in Disguise??
Corey_Lazarus replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in TNA Wrestling
I wish TNA would have gone ahead with the Bound For Glory show. Lower the price? Of course. Paying $30-$35 for a show by a promotion you've probably never heard of before is absurd. Hell, ECW only charged $20 or $25 for their shows, and they were the #3 company in America, with national and mainstream exposure. TNA has neither to the point that ECW had. Bound For Glory should have only been priced at $20, MAYBE $25, and that's it. Also, should they go "screw it" and go ahead with the PPV, advertising should go into full-steam-ahead, and they should market their product as "THE alternative to WWE." -
But they're events that are current. Why should the be in General Chat if they are, by definition, current events? Just because something isn't serious doesn't mean it's not current, nor an event.

Jarrett's not as over as you think he is, LFV. Remember the crowd chanting "Triple J" after he beat Raven? Many fans don't want to see JJ anymore, especially in the position they have him in. That said, AJ will still lose tonight, JJ will be all "I'm an entertaining heel, but I guess I'll book myself as a face" for a few, and live attendance will drop.

Dawn of the Dead: The trailer has been released...
Corey_Lazarus replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
Think about it like this: Dawn Of The Dead is to zombie films what The Godfather is to crime films. Would you want to see a remake of The Godfather, one that changes many of the elements of the story? -
You must've missed every X-Division match but the exhibition multi-man's that exist to help get new talent over with the fans before they're put into a program. The X-Division has had alignments (heel/tweener/face) since Week 6, when the Styles/Lynn feud really kicked off. Here, I'll even go down a list of X-Division mainstays and their alignments (for the most part). FACES Jerry Lynn Joel Maximo Jose Maximo The Amazing Red Jorge Estrada Syxx-Pac Frankie Kazarian HEELS AJ Styles Ace Steele Low Ki Elix Skipper Christopher Daniels Sonny Siaki Chris Sabin Michael Shane What the X-Division needs is another feud/storyline like Styles/Lynn, and, quite frankly, better talent that can be used in angles. Kazarian and Shane were the focus of the X-Division as both men tried to get the belt off of Sabin, and neither man is particularly good or charismatic, so how are the fans supposed to get behind them when there's nothing about them to cheer for?

Weekend Box Office Report: 10/17/03 - 10/19/03...
Corey_Lazarus replied to a topic in Television & Film
I think TCM's success might also be based slightly off of the fact that this year was pretty good for horror. 28 Days Later, Freddy vs. Jason, and now the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. What? Jeepers Creepers 2? Never heard of it... -
I'd move to Canada anyways...
-
I'm just glad Chyna's a nobody now, because now you're not "Chyna this" and "Chyna that."
-
Could always use facepaint and an attire with long sleeves...

Because wherever Nevermortal works > Circuit City. FUCK Circuit City. Ah, Powerstone sounds somewhat similar to Ehrgeiz (a highly underrated figher, IMO).

Dawn of the Dead: The trailer has been released...
Corey_Lazarus replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
The problem is that the entire zombie mythos makes the creatures slow-moving, slow-witted entities. Voodoo zombies are slow-moving (do to the drug-induced state), and thus all zombies have become slow-moving. Also, the zombies are scarier when they're slow-moving. Because then not only do they want to eat your flesh/brains, but they also take their time doing it. I'd rather see a mass of 200 slow-moving zombies than 50 running zombies. -
Because he's a prick backstage and sucked in the ring.

Why not the arena they held their Week 4 show in? Paper the crowd if you must, but I'm sure promoting Hogan at the top of the card would bring in some old-school fans. How's he going to give the X-Division more marquee power when he's been booked as a joke that can't even beat a slow-moving, injured, retired, overweight, unathletic old man single-handedly? Not too shabby. Won't draw much, but it's a solid reason. As long as Piper doesn't wrestle, and Sting is in a tag match involving three superior workers, no problems here. No Savage, though. He'd do nothing but rap and punch women... Get Jarrett off the booking committee ASAP. He's not over, he's not a draw, and he's only tolerable as a heel. Sure, he's becoming a heel again, but it's about 4 months too late to really capitalize on it. He's not as bad a politician as Hunter is and Hogan was, but he's not doing the company ANY favors by making sure the show features him in a good light. As for Mantel...if last week is what we can come to expect, I'm welcoming him with open arms. The angles all made sense, the matches were all watchable, and I'm actually INTERESTED in next week's show.

Just make an analogy to pro wrestling. For some reasons, teachers like "out there" papers that juxtapose somethings.

Dawn of the Dead: The trailer has been released...
Corey_Lazarus replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
1. 28 Days Later was an independent British horror film. Nothing Hollywood about it. 2. 28 Days Later was an homage to two Romero movies (The Crazies, Day Of The Dead). Not TOO originaly, but something that isn't done too often. -
Czech, you owe me an applie pie for that one. I just spit all the applie pie in my mouth onto the floor so I wouldn't choke.
-
-Black Shirts/Red Shirt has been booked VERY well. Bad matches? True, but good booking. -Russo/Jarrett is, as somebody already said, probably the most well-booked long term angle in a long time (dare I say since Raven/Dreamer?). -Raven/New Church is, of course, great. -The X-Division finally has an angle I'm somewhat interested in (for the first time since Kash held the belt all those months ago) with Sabin/Daniels/Shane. -The "New Franchise" schtick seems to be going somewhere, and somewhere good. -The Tag Team division is heating up again, with Gilberti's stable doing their best to keep the Tag belts on Simon and Swinger.
-
...the fuck is Powerstone?
-
I can't believe I wholeheartedly agree with BifEverchad...
