Ahem... Awesome cover band with cult following, and some damn fine retro originals (meaning they sound like they should have been released years ago).

Freedy vs. Jason II : Here is some information...
Corey_Lazarus replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
Skip the first 5 minutes of Evil Dead II. Even in the commentary for Evil Dead II, Sam and Bruce say to do that. They couldn't get the footage of the first one (because it was a different production company that owned the rights to the original, or something, and they were being dicks about it to Sam), so they had to re-film/summarize the first one in 5 minutes or less. Notice how... Spoiler (Highlight to Read): This for the 4 people that haven't seen either classic. Notice how at the end of Evil Dead, Ash it outside of the house, during daybreak, and the Force comes from behind the house, through it, and runs into Ash (who turns around and screams)? That very same scene is re-short PERFECTLY in Evil Dead II. So saying there's no continuity between the two is bullshit. Pure and utter bullshit. It was -
I hope I get one of those E-Frame thingies they had in Exo-Squad...

Some points to you, 1inch... Raven IS on the booking committee. Not full-time, but he books himself and those involved with him. That's been reported so many times it's become fact. Wow, so you point to one feud where a wrestler wasn't against a manager. Want the opposite? Any time a WRESTLER feuded with Jimmy Hart or Bobby Heenan. Those two brought wrestlers to fight their battle, JUST LIKE MITCHELL IS DOING RIGHT NOW. Seriously, 1inch. Your argument has NO validity. Russo didn't have as much say as you think he did for Hart/Austin, and was basically just there to come up with some ideas. The workers took over from there. As proof of Russo's genius, I give you DAVID ARQUETTE - WCW WORLD CHAMPION. Want more proof? VAMPIRO VS. STING. More? nWo 2000: The boys are back in town. 'Nuff said? 'Nuff said. Fuck Jeff Jarrett.

Well, it's the SmackDown guys, so we're probably going to get each of them giving their all. I just wish Vince would realize that focusing PPVs on him doesn't sell tickets.

I think a comedy-based promotion could definitely draw. I mean, isn't Kaiju Big Battel still around?
-
I know you need some sort of license to open your own professional wrestling company and to run shows (it's mostly for the running of the shows). Does anybody know how much a promoter's license costs?

Union OIPW WRESTLESTOCK results
Corey_Lazarus replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
Neither do I. Probably a very entertaining match (as Cross will DIE FOR OUR PLEASURE~!), but definitely not a possible "greatest match ever." Still, I'd like to see a tape of this show... -
1inch: Shut up. Raven is NOT being buried. He's in a feud with a manager, which has happened IN EVERY ERA OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING THAT HAS HAD MANAGERS, and the manager is using his WRESTLERS to go after Raven. The entire angle is solid, and is the ONLY reason I tune in each week anymore. As for some other random points... Jeff Jarrett didn't draw in WCW. He's not a draw in his own promotion (if he was, then the crowd wouldn't be as papered as they are). He wasn't a draw during any of his WWF stints. Basically, JARRETT IS NOT A DRAW. So him putting the belt on himself makes little to no sense, since he's not even as over as Chris Sabin. As for the "Styles = Jericho" comments, I agree to an extent. And this is the extent: Both were supposed to be the top guys in their respective promotions, and neither were treated as such. The booking of Chris Jericho as the first-ever WWF Undisputed Champion (I believe this was a little before the WWE change) was atrocious. He played second-fiddle to the arguing of HHH and Stephanie McMahon. The booking of AJ Styles as the current NWA World champion has been atrocious. He has played second-fiddle to Vince Russo in every instance, has required shitloads of interference to win every match, and even needed to cheat to win a match against a retired, fat, unathletic, out-of-shape man with bad knees named Dusty Rhodes. That is AWFUL booking, no matter how you look at it. And the X-Division might as well be called the WWE Cruiserweight division, because that's how it's been treated recently. What was once the cornerstone and major selling point of the promotion is now an afterthought, and since we have a vanilla piece of shit whose only known because of who his cousin is as our champion, we're guaranteed matches that are "blah" to say the least. Get rid of Shane, put the belt back on Sabin or at least on Lynn or Daniels, or even fucking KAZARIAN (who can at least be carried to a watchable match), and start making the X-Division something to care for again. Abyss is talented for a man his size. He has no right to work even at HALF the pace he does, and he sells very well. All he needs is a proper costume, and another big man that can work to battle with during the Kash/Abyss program (or have Kash become the dastardly heel he was as X-Division champion again). I have no complaints about the handling of Kash now that he's done with the "Legends" bullshit angle. Fuck Jeff Jarrett. That is all.

I have a feeling HBK's reasoning for his ring name, since he was part of The Rockers, was because of Poison frontman Bret Michaels. Kinda like how there's a wrestler named Ron Zombie...

Fuck Jeff Jarrett. That's going back in my profile if he DOES win the title from AJ.

DEF JAM VENDETTA Def Jam is released by EA under the "EA Sports BIG" branch, and is developed by Aki using a slightly faster version of their No Mercy engine.
-
No they didn't. They had tolerable songs. And the songs were only tolerable because Wes wrote the music, and Fred stayed the fuck away from the music aspect. Now look: no Wes, and the music sounds like your average nu-metal band. Wes at least made the band distinct.

How good is LOW2 compared to LOW? I have LOW, and after a couple days of playing, it's really fucking dull. Get Def Jam, regardless. Quick gameplay, you'll get the controls quickly (pretty much the same controls as No Mercy, only with some MINOR variations due to the controller being different on PS2), and it's just fun as hell. Story mode sucks, and there are no match stipulations, and no weapons, but the gameplay is a arcade-y version of NM.

This series OWNS the old series like Benoit owns Hogan.

...I actually liked the "Judy Bagwell On A Pole" thing. Well, the promo Kanyon delivered for it, anyways. Just his lisp, trying to sound deep-voiced and like DDP...

Go to any city with a rock station. Ask those who listen to said rock station who Static-X and Seether are. Static-X is still "big" for the "Push It" single, and Seether are the current "it" group of rock/radio, it seems.

Summer Sanitarium. July 7th was in Foxboro, and sometime in mid-to-late July was in Chicago. The mentioning of Metallica coming on sooner (as noted in an earlier reply) confirms this, I believe. Anyways, Chicago crowds are so cool. All the Foxboro crowd did was turn their backs, raise their middle fingers, and call him a faggot. Wait... ...that was just me and some mallfucks around me that wanted to hear "St. Anger" live...
-
Nope. It's probably going to be Los Guerreros vs. Big Show with the stipulation that the winner gets the US title. EDIT: By the way, Rico...best thread title. EVER.
-
You would. If they did anything to you that's physical, or even tell Vince you PAID FOR YOUR OWN FIRST CLASS TICKET, then you'd have a lawsuit on your hands. Of course, Silverman left on his terms, so a lawsuit wasn't plausible. If, however, he was terminated because of him, again, PAYING FOR HIS OWN FIRST CLASS TICKET, then he'd probably have a lawsuit, because I doubt buying your own ticket is against the contract clauses.
-
Well, yeah, because "fed" is just a slang term used by the fans that came about from the World Wrestling Federation being the most recognizable promotion in the world.
-
I think it has something to do with WWE sucking, TNA in one of its 7-week downers (every 7 weeks, they usually hit a downer), and us all wanting to live our EWR dreams.
-
Definite buy. Too bad the "special extras" suck, pretty much. Maybe a bio of each wrestler featured, or even just the wrestlers featured describing their moves (AJ describes the Styles Clash and Spiral Tap, Lynn the Cradle Piledriver, Ki the Ki-Krusher, Skipper the Rope-Walk 'Rana, etc.). The "Best of NWA-TNA Title matches" is probably a good buy, too. The "Bloodiest Brawls" is a skip, though.

Game, there wil be no Doug references in the CE folder, Dr. Klotzenstein, or else I'll get QuailMan to use his Powers of the Quailâ„¢ on you. I'm a firm believer that the Loch Ness Monster is real. Of course, I'm not saying it's a plesiosaur, but I'm saying there is probably a creature that resembles a plesiosaur in Loch Ness.
