DX "invading" WCW wouldn't have done damage either way. At the most, it would've resulted in a couple more ratings points for Raw, since people would've tuned in and went "hey, these guys are WWF guys, I wonder what's going on over there?" Not a big deal in any sense of the word, really. Bischoff would've knocked Vince out. Black belt in karate vs. 'roided up man 15 years his senior. Some people probably would have tuned into WCW to see the aftermath, but the product wouldn't have changed, and thus the WWF would still be the winner of the Monday Night Wars. ------------- Now... What if Heyman found another network, one that would pay off ECW's (initial) debts and help finance the company (for a short period of time)? Would ECW still be around and producing the alternative to the WWF/E? Would TNA and Ring of Honor even exist?

Jeff Jarrett's WWF Return... the one in 1997
Corey_Lazarus replied to Boxer's topic in General Wrestling
Didn't matter. He was paying his respects to a fallen comrade. I have doubts that if HHH were to drop dead tomorrow, people who hated him personally wouldn't be saying positive comments about him in some way, shape, or form. -
Most US companies, at least that I know of, make you sign a contract wherein the statement of the company being able to "fire you for any reason" is located. So no, we don't. Though a lot of the food-service companies seem to have something close to what you're talking about, but none of the companies where you could actually make a living do.

...because he's Mexican?

That was actually gold compared to things that would follow involving HHH... And yes, I think a tweener HHH could work, especially since when he was a heel in 2000 he eventually got cheers because of how good of a heel he was (before anybody mentions that he was booked strongly as a heel so the fans obviously would cheer him, just remember that there were heels booked stronger than him before). So a heel-ish HHH doing some of the humor he did in the original and '98 versions of DX would be pretty solid. Especially if he busted out a lot of the moveset he used during 2k (before it was ALL spinebuster, knee, punch, Pedigree...when he did some submissions and suplexes here and there, too).

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Corey_Lazarus replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
Doubtful. They just won't hype it up a whole lot. Then, when all the dust has started to settle, they'll bring it back up. Remember that they consider Jimmy Snuka a legend, and he killed a groupie. -
Haven't. I detest the bulk (about 90%) of Danzig's solo work. Besides...I've seen the modern Misfits lineup (Jerry Only, Dez Cadena, and Robo), so that's sorta the same due to Robo. Also, the Heartagram is a HIM thing that Bam Margera sorta adopted unto his own. Shit, HIM wouldn't even have a States-side career if not for the spoiled prick.

I couldn't even get 3 full hours into Season 3 of "24," much less the seasons following. Something about a huge nuclear explosion in the deserts of California makes everything else seem...petty.

No, it came across great on TV. I remember taping it (at the time, he was my favorite). Fucking marvelous.

5 bands that have changed styles in the last decade to poor response from hardcore fans: 5. The Haunted (from Gothenburg-esque death/thrash to...whatever the fuck Dead Eye was) 4. Shadows Fall (from straightforward melodic death metal with a hardcore edge to pop-ish, poorly done pseudo-thrash) 3. Metallica (from the Alternica days to...whatever the motherfuck St. Anger was supposed to be) 2. AFI (from the "kings" of pop-ish hardcore punk to "just another emo band," even if they're still listenable) 1. In Flames (the kings of Gothenburg...to KoRn with solo's)
-
...yeah...because I've ever seen Danzig-fronted Misfits live...

I can't believe people find her that hot. She reminds me of the little sister from Phil of the Future, who is a beast. Yeah...if you think 24 is the best US show (though I'm assuming you mean dramas)...wow...ever seen Oz?

Me, Matt, and LLGC should book a promotion. Wrestlescale - Results You are central in your beliefs about wrestling. You accept the idea of both old-school and sports entertainment but you are not extreme in either way. You believe that angles and matches are equally important to create a good wrestling product. Most similar booker: Paul Heyman Most similar promotion: TNA 2002

The Story of XTREME PRO WRESTLING
Corey_Lazarus replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
So, Barber, when you finishing this fucking thing? -
Or maybe booked him strongly outside of his first year so that the title win would mean something. I used to love Samoa Joe, but now that he's always working the same people, and most of them are pretty shitty or it's been done to death, I have no urge to watch him anymore. In fact, I have no urge to watch TNA anymore. They had one really good year, and that's about it. Everything I ever liked about TNA was gotten rid of after that one year. They've had some solid stuff afterwards, like from the summer of '05 until late '06, but nothing matches up to August '02-September '03.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Corey_Lazarus replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
I just laughed my ass off at that. I'm at work, so my co-worker just looked at me awkwardly. Then again, I think he's one o' them queers, so hey. In fact, you could say that Benoit was garnering some SERIOUS HEAT. -
It does mean something, mostly because I wanted my CAW to be able to do some martial arts moves (based off an e-fed character I used frequently during the years I fedded, who was barely on the Jr. Heavyweight line and practiced Muay Thai) but also to be able to suplex somebody who weighs 300 lbs. That aspect of the system is a little fucked, because there's no reason somebody who weighs 230 isn't able to do the Ultimo Dragon kick combo (Combination 4 in the CAW, IIRC).

The awkward smiley-faced thing? That logo was actually not too bad for what it was designed to be (a mallgoth band). But yeah...why would you get a band's logo inked onto you when the band itself probably doesn't have a whole hell of a lot of lasting power? I can see people getting the third eye done (Tool's sorta-logo; half of my friends have it, including my girlfriend), the Crimson Ghost (considering that the Misfits are legendary, and you see the logo everywhere), even the fucking Sepultribe S...but a smiley face drawn by a 14-year-old after smoking a bad jibb? The fuck...?

Don't bring FF into this shit. Fear Factory were fucking great before Digimortal. Soul of a New Machine is a classic album, and Demanufacture is the archetype for all industrial/cyber metal following it (I actually like the term "cyber metal" for it rather than "industrial metal," seeing as how it's not that dance-able, outside of the techno remixes, but still has a machine-like feel to it). Obsolete is pretty tight, and even Archetype is really good. Digimortal, though, sucks a donkey cock. I don't even remember what their last album was called...so yeah...
-
You know, it wouldn't necessarily be too bad. The CG TMNT was pretty fucking tight, easily the best one since the original (plus it has the best fight scene in the entire series), so it could work so long as Aykroyd has Reitman and Ramis helping him with the script. Not sure if Bill Murray would be up for doing voice-over, though that would be a decent enough change from actually physically ACTING as Venkman to possibly convince him to do it. So long as the animations show that the original four are aging, maybe even introduce characters from the short-lived XGB 'toon, it could be at least watchable. The real questions of concern, at least for me, would be the soundtrack and the rating. The first two movies were hard PG's, and GB2 should've easily been PG-13, but would they completely toss all "adult" elements of the characters (the smoking by Venkman and Stantz, as well as Venkman's innuendo's and off-color jokes) in favor of an easy PG, or even a G? I think the rating, if too low, would alienate a lot of the fanbase. And if the soundtrack follows the pattern set by the first two - the first movie having a bunch of cheesy early/mid-80's pop by bands few even remember, the second comprised of primarily rap and R&B, which was really taking off in the mainstream at the time - then it'll likely be all emo and second-rate "club" rap. They're releasing another RotLD DVD, gary? Or are they re-releasing it?

Because neither can the real workers that we're playing computer simulations of.

Was it really that good on 360, or are you taking the piss? Hopefully they get rid of the "weight limits" for '08. You know what I mean. How a Light Heavy can't do luchadore or martial arts, and how one needs to be under 200 lbs. to be a cruiser. Last I checked, cruiserweight limit was 225 lbs., maybe even 230 lbs., so yeah. It's not like there haven't been big luchadores, either. Abysmo Negro is a pretty big fuck who does the standard lucha moves (and little else), so there you go.

I think he's referring to the fact that WWE matches usually don't go too long unless it's the main event of a PPV.
