They would and they wouldn't. They would because the Heel Section would reform, show up, and just completely tear apart the main event scene, most likely. And they wouldn't because TNA would advertise it as a homecoming, almost, and it'd make sense to hold a PPV there rather than do just a house show. Do a house show back at the Asylum to test the waters, and if people show up? Run a PPV there and maybe even sub-title it "Return to the Asylum." Like, say the next Lockdown is held in Nashville. Call it Lockdown: Return to the Asylum.

Beats me, I didn't go. I don't remember the song for my ex's prom, either. But I do know what song I want played at my funeral above all else...and that would be the single greatest song in the history of rock n' roll. "Freebird," bitches. "Freebird."

No, there really isn't. WWE's been in business for decades, so if they didn't know how to cut costs to make it so that they still turn in a profit, then they'd have been out of business a LONG time ago. TNA isn't making a profit right now because they're still growing as a company and just recently (as of earlier this year) discovered the direction that will work best for them on a national level. Stressing athleticism and feuds over ranking/the belt in the X-Division; emphasizing "big names" and feuds booked like your standard "sports entertainment" angle for the World title; and having a decent amount of tag team activity and feuds over the belts made somewhat personal for the Tag division. As for the house show question, I'd say mid '06 is when they should start. However, they shouldn't do house shows in untested markets where either there's little-to-no scene for wrestling or TNA and its roster are unknown. Go to Georgia, as Rend suggested, because there's a built-in fanbase there, as well as the NWA Wildside fans that are still fans of a good portion of TNA's roster. Go to some smaller venues in the Northeast, as that has pretty much been THE hotbed for wrestling since McMahon took over in the 80's. Also, there's something to say about invading the enemy's turf. Go to areas of the country where there is a need for wrestling and it is known people will pay to see it. Hell, a tour of Britain, Australia, or even just Canada wouldn't be too bad of an idea, considering Britain and Australia are basically willing to go see anything live that has the slightest big name attached to it (fuck, WCW's only sold out shows in 2000 took place in Australia), and Canada loves its wrestling.

Technically, I was stuck with the REALLY SHITTY ones. One of which drove me to drink.

What year did WWE start to lose their edge?
Corey_Lazarus replied to CBright7831's topic in The WWE Folder
I voted '01 because I found my interest in the product waning more and more during the InVasion (and I was a WCW fan before I was a WWF fan, and was a mark for ECW since I first saw it in mid '98) than at any other time. Sure, I stopped watching regularly in '02, but it was '01 that saw me stop caring initially. Thus, I say '01. -
As soon as I saw the title of this thread, that's the song that came to mind. Just the guitar lick over the rhythm parts that makes up the main melody of the song...so damn catchy. Don't care for Candy Apple Grey much as an album, but I'll give it another listen tonight since it's been forever.

1. Interesting how this "I miss Test" fella leaves me out of that group when I'm the first to admit that the Rush sucked compared to the Diatribe. 2. Dames, me and you could always switch off weeks, ya know. You take one week, I take the next, etc. Any week you KNOW you can't do it, I'll take it, and vice versa. I like the idea of passing around who does the PPV reviews, but that becomes expensive after a few shows.

Sure, I'll do 3 PPVs a year...if somebody helps me with paying for them.

If I had the computer near a TV, I could possibly bring back the Lazarush for Impact if Dames ain't up for it. Though I could go to my girlfriend's house, since her computer is in her room and she has a cable TV in there as well. Hrmmmm...

Hrmmm...Brown/Raven does have some possibilities, even though the BFG main should be Raven/Jarrett, or at least have Raven/Jarrett on an Impact before BFG (just for the sake of enacting the standard rematch clause). If Brown's improved as much as people say he has, and Raven's motivated like he has been the past few months, we're looking at possibly the second best match on the card (not from a workrate standpoint, but from a drama/entertainment standpoint). I'm not familiar with the chemistry between the two, but I'm interested in seeing how they work together. Will Raven bust out his usual tricks DESPITE there being a Monster's Ball match on the same card? Will Brown blade? Will Raven eat the Pounce? Will Brown succumb to the Raven Effect? Wow. I haven't been this hyped for TNA in 2 years.

I wouldn't say Rhino was at fault, because he's had some good exciting matches before working for the WWF/WWE, and had some afterwards too (vs. Sabu at ONS comes to mind right away). Blame Hardy. I think I may order BFG just to see Rhino GORE GORE GORE the fuck out of Hardy and see Abyss eat Triple Jump Moonsault and an Arabian Facebuster. Overall, I'd say the debut Impact did exactly what was needed. It gave the new fans a taste, a mere sample if you will, of what TNA offers. It had two X-Division matches, it had a "monster" squashing a little guy, and it had names from the WWF/WWE facing each other. It showcased the top angle right now, and it hyped up the wrestlers that weren't in matches a decent amount. I can't wait for next week's to see how well that all came off. Not necessarily enthusiastic about Team 3D vs. AMW, but I'm interested in seeing AMW work as heels since they just LOOKED better Saturday night in the suits and by Jarrett's side. I think they can pull off the heel tag work perfectly, especially against such an over team as Team 3D.

Remember the episode of Drew Carey when HHH guest starred and became an alcoholic thanks to Buzz Beer? It was awesome. Everybody wanted Buzz Beer after he admitted his alcoholism because they wanted to taste the beer that kicked HHH's ass.

The police can very damn well arrest her for trespassing. All your friend's mother/father needs to do is say that there's somebody in the house without their permission, and that they've refused to leave even when asked/told to. That right there is trespassing, and if she entered the house without being allowed in, possibly breaking and entering.

They're alright, and I can definitely tell their influence. Not my cup o' tea, though, and I need to be in the mood to listen to them.

Hail Sabin and all that junk.

BEST: "A Fire In Babylon" WORST: "Destroyer Of Senses"

It's about 65-70 in southern Massachusetts right now, and I'm loving every minute of it.

Very clever indeed. Alas, I can't see Wayne Campbell being Moon. Not one bit.

I remember the video game for Sega Genesis which sorta sucked in the sense that the controls were lame, but wasn't that bad as far as show/movie games go. One of the levels even had "Iron Man" for the background music, or at least a close ripoff of it.

I voted Other, meaning The Devil's Rejects. But if it weren't for my undying love for that movie, I'd've joined the crowd and voted Batman Begins.

Scientists capture giant squid on camera
Corey_Lazarus replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in General Chat
Ownage. And then it turns out that it wasn't really a giant squid, but rather somebody woke up Cthulhu. -
But it was Tromariffic! I need to pick it up, because I love Toxie and Lloyd is my hero.

With the difference being, of course, that when Raven is given the go-ahead to succeed in a promotion, he does in spades. His first year with WCW? Some of the best television WCW has ever produced. All of his 1995-1997 ECW work? Captivating material. He's the kind of guy that can cut that money promo and make a match that looks to be a throwaway suddenly seem important. He's never been utilized properly on a national level, so why not start with TNA? There's still a whole bunch of "outcasted youths" that watch wrestling, so give them their character, their icon, and push him. Of course, I'm also in the "BRING TRUTH BACK TO THE MAIN EVENT" camp for similar reasons (replace "outcasted youths" with "urban teens," basically, and ixnay all that WCW/ECW stuff and replace it with June-November '02 in TNA), so what do I know?

Raven should interject himself into Nash/Jarrett, methinks. Seriously...WHY NASH VS. JARRETT?!?!?!!?!?!? JARRETT IS A MEDIOCRE WORKER AT HIS BEST AND A BORING, REDUNDANT PIECE OF SHIT AT WORST, AND NASH HASN'T HAD A GOOD MATCH IN NEARLY SEVEN YEARS! ...oh, I know why. "Nash drew in WCW with the nWo...he'll draw now in TNA because people know who he is!" Fuck that. Nash didn't draw shit in the WWF, drew in WCW because of the storyline of the nWo, and didn't draw in WWE when he came back. So he's going to draw now because it's TNA? Balls to that.

Well...BFG sure shaped up to look like shit, in my book. Seriously...would it be THAT HARD to have Raven/Jarrett III in the main event with Raven going over, even to just transition the belt to somebody else? Oh, of course it would. Now it's another Nash shitfest. Say what you will about Nash, how he's interested in putting the TNA guys over, but fuck that. He's had ONE good match in the last...what? 7 years? And that one good match was against Booker T, and was only good because he got his ass handed to him by Booker. Good on the stick, might draw SOME viewers in, but really...did he draw people to WCW shows in 2000? No. He's one of the reasons WCW went under. So why bring him in at a main-event position?! Every step forward has two steps backwards. BFG better have a DAMN FUCKING AMAZING undercard (and fuck Ultimate X, since the gimmick is the epitome of overdone in TNA).
