What kind of music kick are you on?

Picked up Creature Feature's The Greatest Show Unearthed Saturday on a whim. It looked like it would be either horrorpunk or some odd form of thrash or death, maybe even grind, so I popped it in...and shot it out. Then I listened to it an hour or two later. It's pretty weird, like Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack-weird. In fact, that's a perfect explanation of it: it's the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack done by a singer who sounds like a combination of Marilyn Manson and an announcer. It's actually pretty cool, and would be perfect music for a Halloween party.

    What songs should be banned?

Nope. Alive is one of my all time favourite songs. You're British, so you don't count.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

It's a problem/weird because he wasn't talkative or 'normal'? It could point to some lingering mental health issues, possibly stemming from birth. Despite how cliché it is to say "it's always the quiet ones," there's a reason the phrase exists: it's usually true. When somebody, ESPECIALLY a young child, is excessively quiet and keeps to themselves too much, it's a sign of some possible mind deficiency or mental illness. If Benoit's parents got him checked out and he was alright but just quiet, then so be it, and people should drop that aspect of any and all arguments towards this case. If not, then I wouldn't blame them for it, since it was a different time then and few people sought out psychiatric help for either themselves or for loved ones.
  4. I agree. A multi-man match can main event 'Mania. Hell, the very FIRST WrestleMania was headlined by a tag match. TAG MATCH. NO TITLES ON THE LINE. So, the 'Mania's off the top of my head that had a multi-man match as the main event... WrestleMania 1 - Hulk Hogan/Mr. T vs. Roddy Piper/Paul Orndorff WrestleMania 16 - HHH © vs. The Rock vs. Mick Foley vs. Big Show for the WWF Title WrestleMania 20 - HHH © vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Benoit for the World Heavyweight title

    ROH PPV's

I'll agree that, overall, Driven was a better show. Briscoes/Steenerico from Driven I'd say is better than the Ladder War, and Danielson/McGuinness from Driven is flat-out awesome. Plus, Driven has the added bonus of not having Age of the Fall, whose - like you said - presence during Undeniable hurt the show. If you're going to order a Ring of Honor PPV, do it for a combination of Bryan Danielson, Chris Hero (the single greatest heel of the 21st century), the Briscoes, Kevin Steen, El Generico, and WRESTLING.

The Story of XTREME PRO WRESTLING

XPW can make the same boasts, though. Johnny Webb, The Messiah, Dynamite D, and Homeless Jimmy were all very entertaining in the ring. As were Kid Kaos, Steve Rizzono, and Carlito Montana. Let's not forget about the ECW/WCW guys who stopped in, namely Juventud Guerrera, The Sandman, Jerry Lynn, Shane Douglas, Chris Candido, and Sabu. Are you telling me that NONE of those have ever had a good match? The only one I'd put above the "above average" mark, in truth, is Jerry Lynn, but each are good enough, and often better than what we saw on WCW television each week due to various restrictions. WCW's booking was so bad it hurt the in-ring product. XPW was overall bad, but it was entertainingly bad. XPW were the Troma/Cult B-flick of wrestling: they're bad, but it was fun to watch.

    Against All Odds Results

So, once again, rather than giving the fans a CLEAN FUCKING FINISH for the World title for once, they go the generic Russo/Mantel route and have a so-obvious-it's-boring swerve. Fuck TNA. Fuck them so hard that they get a ruptured spleen and bleed internally.

WWE General Discussion - February 2008

Yet suing your own fanbase for getting you more fans is 100% truth. Yet having your producer be your bassist during the recording of your last album, heralding it as a success, and then releasing it to unanimously bad reviews is the truth. Yet a band that was once at the forefront of the thrash metal movement headlining a festival that was originally intended for hippies is the truth. When it comes to Metallica, NOTHING sounds made up.

    What songs should be banned?

-Any and every song by Pearl Jam -Everything White Stripes -The entire post-'98 JAMN 94.5 playlist that isn't Kanye West. The kid I work in my warehouse with perpetually leaves that station on, and then always complains about how it sucks, and we've sat down for an hour and a half and heard the same song THREE TIMES. Listen, I know that there's more of a variety of rock to be played (it's got about 20 years rap's elder in terms of accepted start of the style), but really: ARE YOU FUCKING TELLING ME THAT THE ONLY RAP WORTH LISTENING TO IS SHIT RELEASED IN THE LAST 3 WEEKS?! -Dragonforce, Lamb of God, and Tool. I'm sick of all of 'em, and I can't turn MusicChoice Metal, Headbanger's Ball, WAAF, or WAAF's late-night metal show Harder Faster without hearing one - sometimes all three - of them. Yes, they're popular. Insanely so, in the point of Tool and Lamb of God. But is there NOTHING else to play?

The Story of XTREME PRO WRESTLING

I remember you typing it up here about Steele's personal issues, and I'm actually glad to hear he's doing good. He's the kind of wrestler that COULD stand out if he worked a LITTLE better (most of the matches of his I've seen were him trying to go faster and do more than he actually should've been), but he was undoubtedly charismatic and had a good look.

Matches that shouldn't have been on free tv

Let's not forget that Benoit had been built up as such since returning in '02 that he could challenge anybody, and by late '03 the fans perpetually viewed him as a threat to any and all titleholders.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

Fuck no, it rules. The only Parker/Stone flick I don't care too much for is Team America, honestly. Their originals - Cannibal!, Orgazmo, South Park TV, South Park: B,L,U - are among my favorites, but Team America was just...blah. The jokes felt too forced, really.

    Superhero Movie

It doesn't make sense for your folks to not allow Drake & Josh but allow your sister to watch Disney. Everything on the Disney channel is 100x dumber than Drake & Josh, save for Suite Life. ...yeah, fuck you, I watch children's sitcoms. They're funnier than regular ones half the time.

    Bobby Lashley released

Angle didn't main event 'Mania until 19, which was his fourth. I see the point you were were making about him rising up the ranks to the main event scene quick, since he was main eventing PPVs in late 2000 and 2001, but he didn't main event WM until WM19.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

I still think the best musical I've ever seen has been Cannibal! The Musical, but that's more for me adoring Parker and Stone than the actual quality of it.

Mississippi doesnt want restaurants serving fat people

That's not really the argument, though. Even if I'm outside I can't smoke wherever I want. I'm not talking crowded public place or in a school, I'm talking about some towns that don't allow public smoking at all. Or public events where the smoking section is approximately the size of a small Port-O-Potty. It's annoying to not be able to sit down and smoke when I'm not harming anybody if I'm at a concert, but yet people can run around all drunk out of their skulls. I've had my cigarettes confiscated from me - an unopen pack, mind you - at a venue because they don't allow smoking inside, yet I get in and there's a smoking section. It's bullshit, but yeah: it's a minor inconvenience. Doesn't mean it's not an inconvenience, though.

    ROH PPV's

It wasn't up to the standard that they'd set with Driven and Man Up, which were just amazing from top to bottom (I haven't seen Respect is Earned). Nigel's title win over Morishima was nice, as was Aries/Strong (which I feel is incredibly overrated, mostly due to me not caring that much for Aries), but most of it was just...there. Adam Pearce's promo's have been a highlight on each show, but there wasn't a single match that was in-your-face good. Driven had Briscoes/Steenerico and Danielson/McGuinness, and Man Up had Danielson/Morishima II and Briscoes/Steenerico Ladder War, but this one...meh. McGuinness/Morishima was good with a heated ending, but it was kinda flat and not epic enough for the dethroning of a champion as dominant as Morishima's been.

    Cloverfield

There better be some DVD-exclusive "documentary" on what the monster is. That's really the question that irks my friends that have seen it: where the fuck did it come from?

Mississippi doesnt want restaurants serving fat people

As somebody who registers on the BMI chart as "obese," I'd say this is ridiculous. I'm 5'10" and 235, but I don't look it. So if they weighed me, measured me, and checked the BMI? I'd be rejected, and I'd be pissed off. Discriminatory. Like others have said, why not just teach people to change their fucking diets?

Matches that shouldn't have been on PPV

It made sense, though. Candido was on his way out, and Taz demolished him in quick fashion very early in the night, but Candido hired the Dudley Boyz to be his back-up. D-Von then "broke" his hand by hitting somebody backstage (Chris Chetti, Taz's cousin), so Buh Buh Ray wanted to take Taz out. ...that, and there simply WEREN'T any believable challengers to Taz in the singles division. Who else would he have faced at the time? They were building RVD up still, Tajiri just started to get over, ditto Super Crazy, Dreamer was in a feud with Credible and Storm, Douglas was gone, Candido was out, and though the fans loved them they never would've believed Balls Mahoney or Axl Rotten as top challengers to the belt. It was kind of a shot-in-the-dark, but it did produce a pretty entertaining fight.

TNA Comments which don't warrant a thread

Blame it on Mantel. The company was just fine before he came in, even if it was a bit Russo-riffic. At least shit HAPPENED that made some sort of sense during the Jerry/Jeff/Russo booking of late '02/early '03. Entire company went downhill after they got rid of Jerry and Russo, started to be fun to watch again when D'Amore took the book, but went to shit again when they brought Russo and Mantel back.
