Elvis Costello has pulled it off occasionally.

Guided By Voices - Huffman Prarie Flying Field
-
It's used to great effect in Rushmore, I agree. I dunno, though, it always struck me as a rather slight, if pleasant, song.
-
I'll touch on the eighties, too. 1. Tom Waits - Rain Dogs 2. The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead 3. Galaxie 500 - On Fire 4. Joy Division - Closer 5. The Soft Boys - Underwater Moonlight
-
90's albums: 1. Guided By Voices - Bee Thousand 2. The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin 3. Stereolab - Emperor Tomato Ketchup 4. Yo La Tengo - I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One 5. Morrissey - Vauxhall & I If I didn't consider it bad form to have two albums by the same band on the list, I would have also snuck Alien Lanes into the top five. What a great band.

Oh You Pretty Things and Oh Sweet Nuthin' are better than Oh Yoko. C'mon now.

Is it in this forum that I once called Zappa an immense turd? If so, I take it back now after falling head over heels in love with Absolutely Free and Hot Rats.

Ben Folds has never made an album that holds together all the way through, and on certain songs, the accusations of head-up-own-assery are perfectly justified. That said, when he was on, he produced some of the best pop songs of recent memory. Top five favorite Ben Folds Five songs: 1. The Battle Of Who Could Care Less 2. Best Imitation Of Myself 3. Smoke 4. Narcolepsy 5. Kate With a few exceptions, Folds mostly falters on ballads, which are by and large cloying and unbearable (including Brick. Sorry, Czech).

With a little image tweeking, Soundgarden and Alice In Chains would have fit it rather well in the eighties.

UTSHU, you haven't updated your(YOUR) WCW site since last July. I'm dying over here!
-
Scroby, everybody already knows that UTSHU is terrible.
-
1. Ashes To Ashes 2. Lady Stardust 3. Queen Bitch 4. Five Years 5. Sound & Vision

Hey, somebody wrote an entry about me. Solid. You spelled my name wrong, though. It's "The", not "This".

What is your opinion of Mole as an administrator?

I've been posting on these various forums under various names at least that long, and I remember when Sean Shannon turned Rantsylvania into an article about rape and George Carlin. I'm going to stop this right now, as I feel like bragging and arguing about how long I have been a member of this little online community is a level of pathetic to which even I am unwilling to sink. -
Paul Rudd went to my high school. That's all I really have to add. I liked Freaks & Geeks, but I doubt I'll end up seeing this for whatever reason.

I'll take a stab at this, why not. DVDs: Buffalo '66 Eraserhead Last Year At Marienbad My Own Private Idaho Alphaville The Trail (Orson Welles version (high five, Ravenbomb!)) 8 1/2 Movern Callar Blue Velvet Mulholland Drive CDs: Guided By Voices - Bee Thousand The Flaming Lips - The Soft Bulletin Lou Reed - Transformer Wu Tang Clan - 36 Chambers Galaxie 500 - On Fire The Raincoats - Odyshape Public Image LTD. - Second Edition Television - Marquee Moon Can - Ege Bamyasi The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground & Nico Books: Henry Miller - Tropic Of Cancer Jean Genet - Our Lady Of The Flowers Franz Kafka - The Trial Albert Camus - The Fall Sherwood Anderson - Winesburg, Ohio Gabriel Garcia Marquez - 100 Years Of Solitude Fyodor Dostoyevsky - Notes From Underground Balzac - Eugenie Grandet Andre Breton - Nadja William Burroughs - Naked Lunch Video games: Sonic The Hedgehog Bionic Commando The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Katamari Damacy Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island Earthbound Mario Kart 64 Final Fantasy Guitar Hero Battletoads That video game list was hard. As you can probably tell, I'm no enthusiast. My interest in video games is primarily nostalgic, and as I grew up with mostly Nintendo systems, the bias is obvious (with the notable exception of my favorite game series ever, Sonic the Hedgehog).

I hated them when I saw them open for the Blood Brothers a few years back, but now, I find them perfectly tolerable.
-
I was really hoping I could take credit for ending it, too. My ego has suffered a major blow, I don't mind telling you.
-
No, no, that's exactly what I said. I wasn't being sarcastic, rape really is awesome.
-
In the Incandenza vein, the last five albums I listened to: 1. 13th Floor Elevators - Easter Everywhere 2. Love - Forever Changes 3. The Birthday Party - The Bad Seed EP/ The Mutiny Sessions 4. The Birthday Party - Drunk On The Pope's Blood 5. David Bowie - Aladdin Sane
-
Well, I don't know about you all, but I'm certainly convinced now that repeatedly anal rape should not just be allowed, but encouraged.
-
Of the moment as well: 1. The Gun Club - Preachin' The Blues 2. Guided By Voices - Fantasy Creeps 3. Silver Jews - Animal Shapes 4. Nico - I'll Keep It With Mine 5. Sonic Youth - Death Valley '69

I am insulted. -
The key is to imitate Ian Curtis. If you use the proper amounts of arm flailing, you can cause property damage and personal injury, which is a plus.

I haven't noticed any substantial difference between any of the administrations on this board.
