I wonder how many more people will use the word "hipster" in a completely irrelevant way in this thread. Outside of Ceremony and Age Of Consent, which I like more than most Joy Division songs, I'll take the former band in a walk. I find Joy Division to be plenty danceable, but then again, I also like to dance to The Slits, so what do I know, eh.

If you can find Black Belt Jones, starring the eternal Jim "The Dragon" Kelly, then that one comes highly recommended as well.

Pavement Thread, Pavement Thread
Henry Spencer replied to PUT THAT DICK IN MY MOUTH!'s topic in Music
Pavement were the best thing ever to me about two years ago, but I've grown to find them grating and childish. Crooked Rain... is the only one I can really get excited about anymore, and even that one I haven't listened to in months. -
I doubt CanadianGuitarist has similiar concerns, however.
-
All My Life? Really?
-
Okay, well, let's put it this way. Why not?
-
I mean, seriously. Can you not see the dischord in your own logic here?
-
So, CanadianGuitarist, you would support outlawing alcohol? Keep in mind any answer other than "yes", based on your above views, brands you a hypocrite of the highest order.
-
You know, it IS rather fun to antagonize complete strangers for no reason. I'm not being snarky, either, it really is. That said, SuperJerk has brought everything on himself, and if anything, people here don't hate him enough.

In Banky's defense, making fun of your marital problems became fair game the moment you decided that we all needed to know about them. As far as the actual topic of this thread, Exile On Main Street and London Calling are the only two double albums I'm intimately familiar with that I'd consider immune to this treatment. I'll go to work on Sign O' The Times, results forthcoming.

I've never heard of this phenomenon before, at least. I don't think I'll be able to live my life the same way anymore.
-
Don't try to change the subject, you. My question has yet to be answered. Actually, in a way, it has. Nevermind.
-
Matt, honestly, can you just not help yourself?
-
Buffalo '66, quite easily. It doesn't appear to be available on YouTube, but it's magnificent.
-
I've been meaning to seek them out. gary floyd, you say Xtort is their best album, but is it a good place to start? I think the above mentioned Gibby Haynes collaboration is actually Ministry, not KMFDM, now that I think about it. My bad.
-
My only exposure to KMFDM came in the form of Beavis & Butthead, and that one song they did with Gibby Haynes.
-
Funeral has grown on me like none other, but it really didn't strike me as something that the band was that capable of building upon. The new Of Montreal album is, at the very least, a vast improvement over the Sunlandic Twins.

Listzomania is awesome. I realize I'm fighting a losing battle here with Goodfellas, so I'll shut up now. Still, though. Kill Bill of the nineties. (Okay, so I lied about shutting up.)

TSM HOF? Blame Me......I guess...!?!

I've had my moment. -
TV deaths that pissed you off or upset you
Henry Spencer replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
I took Dr. Marvin Monroe's death pretty hard... As an aside, re: Marvin's post, I can't really fathom being genuinely upset by the death of a television character. Annoyed or angered, sure. -
Eric seems like he'd be a very unpleasant person to be around in real life.
-
Snuffbox really knows how to pick and choose what to get indignant about.
-
Poor Matt Young.

The various identity issues of the participants of this thread have made for one of the more bizarre reading experiences in a while. -
I'm willing to bet that even on a purely solo basis, McCartney was more successful than Ringo, though. If you really want to play semantics (and since you're SuperJerk, I know you do), then it ultimately depends on how you define "success".
