I love Elton John, but I'm only mildly ashamed of it.

High school suspends boy for wearing a dress
Henry Spencer replied to The Czech Republic's topic in General Chat
I was given a dress by one of my female friends for my birthday last year on the caveat that I wear to school for a week. I did, and not a single administrator made a comment. -
The Shins - Oh Inverted World Aesop Rock - Labor Days Sonic Youth - Murray Street Wire - Pink Flag The Zombies - Odessey & Oracle The Books - Lost And Safe Fugazi - Red Medicine
-
Daydream Nation, Sister, and Murray Street are all damn near masterpieces, and I've yet to hear an album of theirs that I actively disliked. They meet my approval.

Modest Mouse - The Moon & Antarctica The Decemberists - Castaways & Cutouts The Unicorns - Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone? The Flaming Lips - Hit To Death In The Future Head
-
This album is much more wonderful than I remember.
-
Actually, now that I think about it, I always confused that song with Larger Than Life by the Backstreet Boys.
-
When I first heard Bon Jovi's song It's My Life, I thought it was N'Sync. I don't know how that relates to this thread.
-
I've heard a handful of Anthrax songs that sound more like N'Sync than anything Limb Bizkit has ever released.

YouSendIt isn't working. Any alternatives?
-
Alright, trying to work it presently...
-
I'm trying to figure out how to work YouSendIt....
-
Sure.

I have never heard either of the title albums of this thread in their entirety, but I suspect I wouldn't enjoy them as much as others here, as the g-funk sound never exactly got my panties moist.
-
I've grown to like Kid A a lot more, but OK Computer was one of those formative albums for me, like Sgt. Pepper's or Doolittle to previous generations.

Echo & The Bunnymen - Heaven Up Here The Decemberists - Picaresque Picaresque gets better every time I listen to it. It appeals to both the hopelessly trendy and the irredemably nerdy sides of my personality. The Mariner's Revenge Song in particular had me giggling with delight like a school girl.
-
EDIT: Oops.
-
How incredibly mentally stimulating and relevant.

My punk rock obsessed friend insists that if you cut Sandinista! down to one disc with the choice songs, it's the perfect album. The prospect of listening to the whole thing several times in order to do so is one that I am not willing to face, so has anybody here done it?
-
I fully intended to post that twice, too, so it's not a double post.

London Calling was my favorite album for years. After that, it was Abbey Road. Now, I'm not sure. In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, Doolittle, Blonde On Blonde, The Soft Bulletin, Enter The 36 Chambers, and Odyssey & Oracle are all in contention, no doubt.

Ebert really isn't that fat anymore.

1. The Decemberists - Picaresque 2. Bonnie "Prince" Billie & Matt Sweeney - Superwolf 3. Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning 4. Low - The Great Destroyer 5. MIA - Arular I've heard the new Wedding Present and the LCD Soundsystem, but each only once, so I haven't decided whether I like them or not. The Wedding Present album was better on first listen, though.

The "What Are You Reading Right Now" Thread
Henry Spencer replied to 1234-5678's topic in Literature
Haven't had much time to read lately, as I've been in the process of gutting my personal belongings to prepare for college. I'm about halfway through episode 4 right now. Three took a bit of mental acrobatics and rereading bits of it, but it was worth it. I'm thinking I may end up enjoying the Bloom sections of the book more, as I didn't care for Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man very much.
