Round Two, TSM Worst Poster Tournament
King Kamala replied to EVIL~! alkeiper's topic in No Holds Barred
Yeah but to be fair, Matt's YouTube videos are nowhere near as good as MVP's MVP's video of THE BEST POLE DANCER EVER -
I always thought Matt Christopher was like a male Nancy Drew but apparently there actually was a real Matt Christopher. I wasted much of my youth reading Matt Christopher and Jerry Spinelli books (Maniac Magee FTW)

Truthiness Edgehead69 MVP dustinbeaverton Enigma (toughest battle of the round. Enigma is more prominently annoying. Majormayhem1's piped down a bit in the last few weeks) EHME (Kawalimus is good for unintentional comedy. EHME is good for nothin'!) There's one like that with The Patriots called IIRC Tales From The Patriots Bench by Michael Felger from The Boston Herald. It tells the story about The Patriots from their inception until TSM' red hoodie clad favorite coach was hired as head coach in 2000. Fun book, though obviously I'd give it a much higher recommendation to a Pats fan than a non Pats fan. Not entirely a sports book but I'd also like to recommend Can I Keep My Jersey: 11 Teams, 5 Countries, and 4 Years in My Life as a Basketball Vagabond by NBA journeyman, Paul Shirley. A really fun book. Though Shirley can be a little too snarky at times.

The four or five times I had those crappy wax soda bottles I always ate the whole thing including the wax bottle. I was a weird kid I guess. I occasionally the wax covering on those Baby Bella mini cheeses too.

Let's Talk About..........The Natural Born Thrillers
King Kamala replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
I agree with King. They were really green but no so much more so than Randy Orton was when he debuted in '02 or Rocky Maivia in '96. I think what really hurt them was their one sided feud against The Insiders. It was just ludicrous that those two alone were able to beat an entire stable with relative ease. But then again it is WCW and it is Kevin Nash. -
I'll pick the hillariously titled Loose Balls by Terry Pluto. It's an oral history of The ABA with interviews with about 75% of the major players and figures in the league. The stuff about Marvin "Bad News" Barnes is unbelievablely funny.Just a tremendously fun read.

IIRC, the Rockers used "Livin' After Midnight" for a bit after they started in WWF. I remember watching some YouTube clips of their early matches where they came out to it. And I thought WWF stopped using outside music for the most part in 86ish.

Let's Talk About..........The Natural Born Thrillers

The two major feuds they had were with The Filthy Animals and Paul Orndorff (who trained all of them except Shawn Stasiak IIRC) and with The Insiders (the short lived DDP-Kevin Nash tag team). -

Yep, that's right Cheech. And Kevin Nash was sort of a member of the stable as their "Coach" before they kicked him out and he feuded with him. They were around from IIRC September 2000 to February 2001. I think that's all the basic background of the stable you need. -
I'm there because of Steve Coogan. The premise is intriguing too. Ben Stiller's due for another good movie.
-
Stiller was kind of ripped during The Ben Stiller Show days. I was surprised to see that when I rewatched it a month or two back.

He's wrestling at the great four hour television taping in the skies now

Oh boy I bet WrestleMania Weekend in Mexico City would be a hoot! And that would mean Mil Mascaras getting inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame! *starts a WrestleMania in Mexico City petition*

Flair also had some semi-competitive matches with Joey Maggs in the early 90s.

Questions to be answered by the next person to post in the thread

I was in attendance for the worst loss in Boston Celtics history back in January '03. They lost to The Pistons. Checking on basketball-reference, I see the score was 118 to 66. Ouch. The only fun moment at the game was when what was left of the crowd chanted for Bruno Sundov when he entered in at the beginning of the 4th quarter. -
But EHME took the hit to the head like a man, Dandy!

Oh the Pizza Hut's Game Face thread needs to be in there, solely for the purpose of having the Food Folder represented in Classics. -

Ah yes, Keiper's Folly as I call it. I'm biased since I posted a lot in it but I think Chris Masters/JN News is Dead is worth considering for Classics. -
Well these Damien Demento videos have become really unfunny Seriously this a WCW 2000 level bad "comedy" skit where Demento goes back to wrestling school.

Hey, let us not forget that The Enquirer was the one to reveal that Jesse Jackson had an illegitimate child! But I'm not believing in till I see it on The Insider
