    This thread is gay

Hey now, Andrew Ridgely is married to one of the chicks from Bananarama. To tie this into the thread, George Michael sang backup vocals on the aforementioned "Nikita". And IIRC, Wham! did backup vocals during Elton John's set at Live Aid.

I'll admit his output in the past 25 years has sucked. Though "Nikita" amuses me since it's the only love song dedicated to a male Soviet Guard. I found that out on Pop Up Videos. Seriously, Nikita's a guy name and he never specifies which gender he's singing about! Come to think of it, a lot of his songs were gender-neutral. Who was he fooling in the seventies? but I like pretty much anything he did up until 1975ish.

Dumbest Comment of the Day at TSM

Basically any of Marvin's posts from CE. Pick one, any one.

    Fast Food Promotions..

I was the same way with Eureka's Castle hand puppets that Pizza Hut had for a while. Now that's a show that needs to be on DVD...

    WWE Folder sucks dick

Hey, there's nothing wrong with the name "The Truthiness", but I'm a Colbert fan. As for The Truthiness the poster, not so much. I seem to recall him having some argument about how unover or bad someone was (Shawn Michaels, I think) awhile ago. I can't remember much about it (thankfully) but I'm sure it was very stupid with everyone chiming in. I forgot it was a Colbert reference. I guess it's not that bad of a name but he's one hell of a bad poster. And dustinbeaverton is a surprisingly wise man. I think Marvin could learn a lesson or two from him...
  6. I remember that. It was during the short-lived TGIF lineup right after Family Matters and Step By Step left for CBS. I think I'm the only one who really liked that line up (Sabrina The Teenage Witch at 8, Boy Meets World at 8:30, You Wish at 9, and Teen Angel at 9:30. Yes I looked the order up on wikipedia, I'm not that big of a dork). I was indifferent to You Wish but I loved Teen Angel. Besides The Critic, I don't think I was ever more upset at a show's cancellation than when Teen Angel got cancelled. If I watched an episode now, I'd probably think it was terrible but for the season it was on, it was my 2nd favorite show behind The Simpsons. I was also vehemently opposed to CBS' short lived TGIF competitor, CBS Block Party at the time. Those bastards stole Family Matters and Step By Step and Balkie!

    Let's Talk About Wrestlemania 2

Even as a mark I thought this show was kind of shitty but it always has had a certain charm to me. It's hard to explain. I'm not sure if the best match of the night breaks past the *** barrier but the show is immensely watchable. Unfortunately I used this show to introduce my best friend to wrestling. He may have not liked wrestling even if I introduced him by showing a really good tape but this show is probably a bad way to introduce non-viewers to wrestling. Anyway, The New York segment is terrible and damn near ruins the whole show. That Susan St. James was awful, she made Art Donovan sound like Gordon Solie. The Chicago segment is really fun, Bulldogs-Dream Team is probably MOTN and as a battle royal mark, I've always loved the NFL-WWF battle royal. And The L.A. one is pretty good too with a solid JYD and Tito-Funks match and Steamboat carrying Hercules to a half-decent match.

The Truthiness adds to my theory that almost all posters with terrible usernames are terrible posters. Also posters with good usernames are generally good posters. TSM: Where you can judge a book by its cover.

Yeah my memory on it is a bit foggy as I only saw it once late night on IFC three or four years ago. Fun fact about Thirteen... the ending made my dad cry. Talk about an awkward moment!

ESPN sucks, so do thread closers

I bet he joins the gang on Best Damn Sports Show Period!. That is assuming that abomination is still on the air.
  11. Am I a dumbass for just realing Full House and Family Matters theme songs were sung by the same guy. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if that guy also sang the Step By Step theme song too. He had a monopoly on theme songs for cheesy early 90s ABC sitcoms.

Isn't the girl who wrote Thirteen dating Marilyn Manson? No, wait, just looked it up. The girl who starred in Thirteen is dating Marilyn Manson. The girl who wrote it hasn't really done jackshit.

WWE General Discussion - February 2008

That Torch article was terrible but then again maybe I was expecting a bit too much from a professional wrestling newsletter.

    It's Depressing

It's depressing that The Truthiness is currently at #1. He sucks!

I agree with a lot of the criticisms people have for this but this one is just stupid. People can't love more than one kind of music?

    Boardloaf

I tried Wendy's new fish sandwich. Not bad, I'd recommend if you're of the rare breed that orders fish sandwiches at fast food places. It's a little bit better than The Filet O Fish but not quite as good as the BK Big Fish.
  19. We can't mention special episodes of Full House and black sitcoms without mentioning the moment those two briefly merged. That moment being the episode where DJ befriended an old black man played by Whitman Mayo (Grady from Sanford and Son) and then she found out that he had Alzheimer's Disease.
  20. How about the episode of Family Ties with a young Tom Hanks as The Keaton's alcoholic uncle?
  21. How about Carlton taking amphetamines and going nuts at a school dance? We can't forget that one! It was a classic. All of those Norman Lear sitoms were good "very special episodes". All In The Family seemed to have almost as many serious episodes as dramatic and until the end, when it became sappy and transformed into Archie Bunker's Place, almost all of them were damn good.
  22. Yep, according to IMDB, it was Freddie's acting debut. An auspicious debut indeed. And none of those TGIF shows should do "special episodes". Remember the Full House where DJ overexercised? Good lord.
  23. I just watched the greatest episode of Family Matters ever. Laura got mugged by some girl gang and then thought about getting a gun to protect herself. Then one of her friends got shot and there was a big Give Up Your Guns rally at the end where Freddie Prinze Jr appeared and had like three lines as some guy who didn't want to give up his gun and URKEL RAPPED! Oh it was unintentional comedy at its finest.

    The Baconator

I always ask them to put jalepenos on my seafood sub at Subway. Am I the only one who orders the seafood sub at Subway? Heck, I don't think it's available at most Subways. I only know one that still carries it. I don't know what's in it but I like it!
