Uh...have you looked at some of the box office grosses for movies starring Ryan Reynolds? It's pretty obvious, you're one of many. I don't hate the guy but I'm shocked he's gotten a chance to star in so many movies because damn near everyone I can think of that he starred in has flopped. He must be blowin' somebody. Unless he's inexplicably popular in the U.K.

Dude played at the Fryeburg Fair here (The biggest fair in the State of Maine) last year but I opted to go on the night, John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band were playing. Unfortunately, he cancelled at the last minute so the Kamala clan decided to grab another fried vegetable platter and head home early.

Matches that shouldn't have been on PPV
King Kamala replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
Wow, I didn't even know Justin Credible was in TNA (Assuming he was PJ Polaco). Doesn't surprise me. The dude has wrestled for pretty much every semi- major promotion in the past fifteen years outside of Smokey Mountain and WCW. Despite saying it was the worst of the old school WrestleManias, I don't really hate WrestleMania IV. I definitely hold some nostalgia for it as it was the first wrestling tape I "owned". I won Part 1 of the VHS as part of some cheapass raffle at a campground I used to stay at. Oddly enough, I didn't see Part 2 until about two years ago. It's not a terrible show (I'd definitely rank it ahead of IX, XI, XI, XIII and XV) but it's a chore to sit through in one sitting. Steamboat/Valentine, the Tag Team title match and the tourney final are all ***-***1/2 matches. And I'm a battle royal mark so the opener was a lot of fun for me. -

Hell, WrestleMania I through VIII seemed to do that. But most of the matches were somewhat short so I don't have too much against them. Off the top of my head I can think of; WrestleMania I Tito Santana Vs The Executioner David Sammartino Vs Brutus Beefcake WrestleMania II The Fabulous Moolah Vs Velvet McIntyire Uncle Elmer Vs Adrian Adonis WrestleMania III Butch Reed Vs Koko B.Ware WrestleMania IV Hmmm...even though this is the worst out of the "old school" era Wrestlemanias, every match seemed to serve some kind of a purpose even if the purpose was "Let's just throw every guy who doesn't have a feud into a battle royal" WrestleMania V The aforementioned Hacksaw Vs Bad News Brown match Brutus Beefcake Vs Ted DiBiase WrestleMania VI Koko Vs Rick Martel WrestleMania VII Kerry Von Erich Vs Dino Bravo Tenyru and uh...the other guy Vs Demolition WrestleMania VIII Owen Hart Vs Skinner -

Thought of another one Marc Mero Vs Leif Cassidy from In Your House: Final Four And for that matter, The Nation of Domination Vs Goldust, Flash Funk, and Bart Gunn (Talk about an odd trio) from the same PPV. -
Sorry, I'm a Gravel man.

Hey if Uwe Boll can make a direct to DVD film making fun of 9/11 starring Dave Foley...then Kinetic can pledge his support for a W dictatorship.

HOW DARE YOU SPEAK ILL OF THE JUNKYARD INVITATIONAL? Yeah- WCW went through the longest stretch of shitty PPVs and it was in the era of monthly PPVs (Slamboree '99 to Fall Brawl '00). I think they went a good year and a half without a PPV that was better than mediocre. -
I hope NarcolepticJumper makes an appearence in this thread. I love it when he calls us all sheep.

And Hakushi was undefeated in the WWF when he fought Bret at the first In Your House. -

Sorry but I don't really see Bret Hart Vs The 123 Kid as a PPV main event. The Kid never really rose above midcard status. It was a perfectly fine TV match. Another one I just thought of Goldberg Vs Sting on a random Nitro in the Summer of '98. Also in a similar vein, Goldberg Vs Booker T for the WCW World title from the Summer of '00. -
Yes! That's probably the only bit from the past 5 or so seasons I can quote off the top of my head. The episode itself isn't that great but I crack up whenever I hear that song "Moe Moe Moe. How do you like me? How do you like me? Moe Moe Moe? Why don't you like me? Nobody likes me!" I'm kind of curious to hear everybody's thoughts on The Principal and The Pauper? A lot of people think it's the moment the show jumped the shark but I'm not so sure myself. Part of me thinks it was just a parody of "shocking episodes" and it's not like the changes lasted more than an episode like Barney becoming sober (Which was around the time I stopped watching regularly).

Goldberg Vs Bret Hart from the night after Halloween Havoc '99. I have a feeling it'll be said a lot in this thread but...that's Russo (I think this was his first Nitro) -
Barely remember them, to be honest. They were another act that got totally lost in the quagmire of WCW. I imagine that's how 90% of the board's reaction would be. That's an obscure stable even by the general wrestling folder standards.

Vitamin- if elections were today, I'd probably vote for Nader. Does that give me any indie cred? Any of yous seen the Nader documentary that came out last year? Some good shit.

WWE 24/7 Discussion Thread - February 2008
King Kamala replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in WWE Multimedia
I've said dozens of times on this board before but WrestleMania IX possibly has the best atmosphere of any WrestleMania and absolutely nothing else. I don't think anything breaks ** on that show except maybe The Steiners/Headshrinkers. -
So there's going to be a weekly discussion of crappy stables? For next week, I propose a discussion of Jimmy Hart's First Family (The WCW edition). Jerry Flynn, Brian Knobbs, Hugh Morrus, and The Barbarian! What a stable!

Matt Young vs imarkout4 "Matt Young's Feelings" eldandy
King Kamala replied to BUTT's topic in No Holds Barred
I like Dandy but he sort of jumped the shark with that post and he's defended JN News twice in the past day and a half. -
dam rite NIGHTWING IZ A SHEEP!

Y'know, it might just be me, but I really don't mind that concept. Yeah it's just you. Unless it's one of those matches where the World Champ teams up with a secondary champ against The Tag Team champs and ALL FOUR TITLES ARE ON THE LINE (!!!). I'm a bit of a mark for those type of matches.
-
I honestly can't see how anybody thought those guys had any sort of effect- negative or positive on the board during the hour they were mods. Though it did indirectly lead to the Self Destruction of Matt Young

WWE 24/7 Discussion Thread - January 2008
King Kamala replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in WWE Multimedia
I'm surprised at all the praise Jeff-Taker has been getting lately. It's a solid **1/2-*** match but no great shakes. I have to say I am biased because I'm a huge ladder match mark. I don't think there are very many if any ladder matches I'd rate under **. -
Hey let's not forget the guy who fucked his male cousin!

Say what you want about Mole, but the guy is a true friend of the gays. With the rampant homophobia on this board, I commend him for that.
