Wow, I have no idea. That's certainly not the way I wrote it...I'm tired but not that tired.

Former honors English student here. I would've done AP but I had a personal vendetta against the teacher. Kind of regret not taking it now but it didn't work out with my schedule. Plus having to actually do work during the second semester of my senior year. Off the top of my head, besides the ones that are a staple of every high school curriculum (Scarlett Letter, Catcher In The Rye), I only remember the ones we had to read during the summer before. Freshman Year: We had to pick three books off of a list of a dozen or so books and then discuss them over the course of the first week or so in small groups. I picked It's Not About The Bike (Lance Armstrong's autobiography- seriously don't know what qualified this to be on the reading list of an honors English class), Haroun and The Sea of Stories by Salaman Rushdie, and Smack (a book about teenage anarchist heroin addicts in England. Pretty captivating stuff for a fourteen he movie saying we wouldn't like it because it was in black and white and was boring. Man, I hated that guy, though I still get a chuckle whenever I recall the moment wyear old). Sophomore: Krik Krak by Edwige Dundicat. Book about the plight of Haitian women. Good lord, everybody hated this one and practically demanded it be taken off the list of summer reading. This book was just begging to be called Krik Krap. It's weird, it seems like they changed the book the sophomores had to read every year because they all hated it so much. You'd think they just would've stuck with a classic staple but no, they kept trying something new and everybody kept on hating. Junior Year: The Grapes of Wrath. Probably my favorite book out of all my summer reading assignments. I was pretty alone in my belief here. Everybody else thought it was boring and long. Philistines! My teacher wasn't much better...he wouldn't show us the movie version cause it was "black and white and boring" (as if there was a correlation). Though I still get quite the chuckle when I remember him describing the novel he was writing as The Godfather with aliens thrown in. Senior Year: The Kite Runner---meh.

The elation I had when I found out that Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer were doing an unplugged tour together playing Spinal Tap and The Folksmen songs was quickly dashed when I found out that the ticket prices for their Boston show was $60. Yeah, wasn't sure where to put a post about a joke band(s) made up of comedians touring but I figured it'd work better here than in the Music Folder.

I very nearly went with him to use against Luger (who I would have used as a face) but I didn't want to repeat picks from the last draft. Great pick up there, Kahran. -

Same, I'm happy that I've got four legitimate main event guys with my top four picks. I think the most interesting rounds are the middle ones honestly. That's when you can really tell where the rosters are going (they're going anywhere). -

I would've picked Kobashi if Samoa Joe had fallen down to me and done that as my semi-main event. I have a feeling it might have been better workrate wise than Lex Luger Vs Batista! Oh and Kobashi was the last guy who was picked in the first round last go 'round that was unpicked. -
The hatred of Madden isn't helped by the fact that he replaced Heenan. Sure, Heenan had burned out long ago but I think anybody would take a washed up, quarter assing it Heenan over Mark Madden. Though I think the commentary team with him, Tony Schiavone, and Stevie Ray may be the greatest bad commentary team of all time. Up there with any commentary team involving Dusty Rhodes.

Wrestling Roster Draft: Luxe & Reduxe

Alright, time to show my semi-main event. A match that might not be much workrate wise but will embody the larger than life angle that I'm going with for my promotion. My next pick is one of the great stars of the late '80s and early '90s. Laziness kind of prevented him from reaching his full potential but for years a lot of people were buying him as the next Hulk Hogan and from 1988 to 1992 or so, it was easy to see why. He can work as a face or heel but I honestly liked him better as a dickhead, arrogant heel so I'll be using him as that. He's a two time former WCW World Champion, a four time WCW US Champion, a two time WCW Tag Team Champion, and a two time WCW Television Champion. With my third pick, I'm proud to select... Lex Luger This next guy is one of the biggest stars of today. He's got the super intense, babyface act down pat. He might not be a great worker but with a capable opponent, he can have a good match. He's a four time former World Champion, a three time World Tag Team Champion, and former WWE Tag Team Champion. With the first pick in the fourth round of the All Time Wrestling Roster Draft, I select... Batista -

Dammit, Samoa Joe was my next pick. Though I kind of didn't expect him to last this long and certainly didn't expect him to get back to me. Was hoping lightning would strike twice ala me getting Andre and Brock first go 'round. Oh well. -
Oh geez, this thread has turned into a dreaded "I'm not gay, you're gay! internet argument. To answer the question, it was the summer between 5th and 6th grade, with a girl from a summer day camp. She actually asked me. She was about two years older than me, I wasn't really attracted to her and was too polite to turn her down. Our date was kind of similar to Kinetic's first, we just wandered around a mall while I made witty comments and got hopped up on caffeine (every social event from the time, I was 8 to 14 involved me drinking a lot of Surge and eating a lot candy beforehand and during it). Being 12, I didn't really get any sort of action. Maybe a kiss on the cheek or something innocent like that. Nothing really came of it, we were friends for the rest of the summer and then I never saw her again. Yeah, pretty boring.

It was but I enjoyed it, one of the highlights of the set. Enjoyed it far more than I would have if they played a straightforward version (though that's not saying much)

Saw Fountains of Wayne unplugged last night in Boston. It was a really good show, lots of songs from the first two albums and all four of the new songs they played sounded good but I was slightly disappointed. I assumed that being unplugged, they would change a lot of the arrangements around but there wasn't really much different from when I saw them play two years agoish except they played more ballads and turned "Stacy's Mom" into sort of a slow lounge song (they even joked that it was the version that they'd play at the Brookline Ramada in two years). I don't want to complain too much since it was a good show, just wasn't what I was expecting. Didn't help their case that quite a few people thought the opener The Everyday Visuals (local group I believe) blew them off the stage. I don't know if I'd say that but they were quite good.

I like Klosterman, I only own Sex, Drugs, and Coco Puffs but I've heavily skimmed through his other stuff at book stores and friends' houses. I believe Cheech is a fan as well.

Damn, Stan Hansen was my top choice for the next pick. Did not see him going this early. Ah well. Win some, lose some. -

Yeah, I'm already PMing my picks to Mellow just in case and I'm twenty something people away. Though in my defense, I might not have internet access from tomorrow morning till Sunday night. -
I posted their first single in CTDWAT and no one said anything! I'll probably see them on their tour in April if they come to Boston or Northampton. The song is growing me but honestly Taylor Hanson's voice isn't doing it for me. I grudgingly respect that group but his voice is not fit for this kind of music. Don't forget that Bun E. Carlos is drumming for them!

Damn, this second round is killing me more than the first! Both Bruno and DiBiase were high up there for my third choice. Oh, there's a good chance I'll be gone most of tomorrow and part of Sunday (heading to Boston to visit my brother). Don't know what my internet access will be like so I'll PM mellow my choices just in case. -
Does Guster count? They sort of venture into that territory sometimes and they seem to tour with them a lot but I don't know if I'd qualify them as such. BUTT's right, Rush really has nothing similar to any of those other bands you listed.

It's so hard to pick a favorite of all time so I'm going to go with a dark horse candidate, the current President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obian Nguema Mbasogo Some highlights, state operated radio declared that he was in direct contact with God and could order someone killed without being taken to account and without going to hell. He's also rumored to practice cannibalism. Badass.

I'm going to draft the two guys to be in my co-main event before I start going after tag teams. I'm in a position though where it'll be relatively easy to pick up tag teams. Hopefully, some good teams will still be on the board when I make my fifth and sixth picks. -
I wasn't sure what to expect from Russo's first run but when Russo and Bischoff combined forces in April '00, I thought for certain that they couldn't fail! Given time, I thought they could overcome the WWF. I thought there was no way that WCW could lose with the guy behind the nWo and the guy behind Austin-McMahon joining forces...but oh they did. I watched this show a few months ago as part of that DailyMotion roundtable we used to do...it was bad. Not even funny bad for the most part (though Vampiro-Demon is a notable exception to that rule) but just plain bad-bad. Booker T's matches are good at least. And I vaguely remember the opener being decent. That's about it.

I hope this isn't a spoiler but there are two guys that are left on the board now that were picked in the first round last go 'round. One I'm sort of surprised to see still around and the other not so much. I already have a feeling that this draft will have more of an emphasis on work rate than star power. For those wondering; there were three overall picked in the first round last time that didn't get picked in the first this time around (Brock Lesnar was the first pick of the second). -

Being one of (if not) the biggest star of the Florida territory in the '70s and '80s, Dusty was my first choice for my next pick. Damn. I have a feeling me and Al might be jostling for a lot of the same picks as me and Diamonddust were in the last draft. -
Yeah, as the board's most prominent fan of said '90s fluff rock, I can say that I'm rather indifferent to Stephen Page leaving Barenaked Ladies. Inc pretty much summed it up best. Nothing great, nothing horrible just sort of there. And "Let Her Cry" is really a great '90s MOR ballad. BNL never really did anything as half as good.
