WWE 24/7 Discussion Thread - November 2007
King Kamala replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in WWE Multimedia
Yeah, WCW didn't tape their house shows IIRC even though they hyped up their shows at The Omni occassionally on TV (Especially during Watts' booking reign) Now ECW Old School would probably be possible since they taped a lot of shit but has it been long enough to consider ECW Old School? -
Czech, what's the opposite of a mundane sports achievement? Cause I got one for that involving mercy. I lost a game of mercy once to a girl. It was one of the most embarrassing moments of elementary school to me. But to be fair, her playground nickname at the time was "The Barbarian" and she was probably as big as me. Still my cruel classmates at Longfellow Elementary never let me live it down.

Heh, I just got offered free tickets for an acoustic performance by Jonathan Davis of KoRn. I'm going to have to say "no" since I really don't like KoRn but I would have gone if it weren't a 75 minute drive. I'm just a sucker for free tickets. That's how I ended up at a Taste of Chaos.

I think they have a outside shot at beating Buffalo on the road. I mean it's not like The Bills ran over them last weekend.
-
Well, Miami has a half-decent shot at winning three of those (Jets, Baltimore, and Cincy). I'd say the game against The Jets is the most likely win for The Fins. Hell with that schedule The Fins might fuck up and end up with a better record than not only The Rams but The Raiders and 49ers too.

I like Baltimore. Touristy parts I've been to, at least. Haven't ventured too far outside on my visits there. Didn't want to end up in a real life version of The Wire. Course the enjoyable times I've had in Baltimore don't mean I want to read Marvin's musings on their sports teams. I will say though (just to add something mildly baseball related to the post) that the Os have slowly come to overtake The Devil Rays as the AL East's most inept organization.

There's a really good semi-upscale Italian restaurant here that was converted from a Burger King. That's all I have to add. Oh and the town where I go to college in has a population of about 7,000 and we have three, yes, THREE Dunkin' Donuts. Though one of them is in the town Wal-Mart so it might be 2 and 1/2.

Unfortunately, I've only been alone in a theater once and that was for Good Night and Good Luck, a huge blizzard had hit that afternoon and barely anybody was in the theaters at all that night. Only thing else I remember about the experience was getting startled by the usher walking down the aisle halfway through the movie. I came close to being one of the only people when me and a friend went to see Me And You And Everyone We Know but during the opening credits, a couple walked in and my friend got mad at them.

Forgot about her. Easily the lamest musical guest from Season One. She really sticks out like a sore thumb there.
-
I thought the first half of the show was pretty good but everything after WU kind of sucked. I did like the end of the Nightly News sketch though. And lamely enough I researched a bit and found that Feist was not the first Nova Scotian to be musical guest on SNL. Sarah McLachlan was. Go figure.
-
Wow, I'm surprised at that result as well. I'm also surprised Lions and Lambs came in at #4 but mostly cause I thought it was only limited release this weekend. Guess I thought wrong.

Was I the only mark who was pissed when they never did another Ultimate Surivor Series match? I loved that match as a mark -
From what I've read, yes it is. I love Prince's music but I just don't get the guy. I have to just enjoy the music and ignore the fact that he's an eccentric asshole who hates most of his fans. Though you could say that about a lot of popular musicians.

They could, but it would bomb. Reruns are reruns. Most of the new shows will probably not be given their back nine order when the strike is over. I heard Big Shots is already over. Hey Bob- do you know what's happening with SNL reruns over the next few weeks? Are they just going to play stuff from last season? I'm hoping for some older stuff since E! never reruns it but I bet that's wishful thinking.

I actually hears a review on NPR that said American Gangster is actually better than this. Though I'm really interested in seeing both. I watched an interesting show on Nicky Barnes on BET of all channels (Probably one of two times I've watched the channel for more than ten minutes at a time)

Michael Jackson (Excluding Invincible since I haven't heard it and his early Jackson 5 era stuff- since it's basically Jackson 5 with different backing singers) 1. Thriller 2. Off The Wall 3. Dangerous 4. Bad 5. History The only semi-controversial part of the list is probably ranking Dangerous over Bad. I think the highpoints of Bad are better than Dangerous but Dangerous is a bit more consistant as a whole. There's some real shit on both albums but I think there's less on Dangerous.

It would have been Benoit and Sid doing the "tag team partners who hate each other" bit fighting off the nWo 2000 until Goldberg returns. The rest of the Radicalz would have continued being a part of the Revolution Vs Filthy Animals feud as IIRC, that feud didn't really have a blowoff.

Fun fact: Also my (then) near-retirement age elementary school music teacher's favorite singer. Unfortunately, she never played any of his stuff in class.
-
We may have done a similar thread like this (perhaps even started by myself) but dammit, it's been long enough and I don't think we've done this exact thread. Anyway, mine was The Jackson 5 appropriately enough when I was about 5.

Yes! Metal Ed, you were sorely missed.

Breakfast: Bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios and a Cranberry Juice Lunch: Clam Chowder, fries, and chocolate milk Afternoon snack: Cheez Its and water Dinner: Mom's homemade pizza, Sprite and some kettle chips Late night snack: Smothered Cheese Fries and a Pineapple Dream (two Fridays in a row at Denny's- jeez)

Oh fuck yes. Don't know whether this goes should go here or in music but I had to announce it somewhere; I just got tickets to see Christopher Guest play songs from This Is Spinal Tap, A Mighty Wind, and Waiting For Guffman with students and faculty from Berkee School of Music on November 30th in Boston. So pumped for it especially since it's a one off event.

He wouldn't have lasted a year. Wasn't the Watts era a huge failure ratings and buyrates wise? True enough about Watts but Bischoff's first year or two in charge wasn't successful by any stretch of the imagination.
