Yeah and Booker briefly posed as a priest and a woman confessed having an affair to him. Good times

Which 2 matches are you talkin about? Ladder match and the IC title match.
-
I don't see why XVI is getting repeatedly mentioned as one of the worst ever. Sure it's not great but it had two good matches which is more than you can say for about five or six other WrestleManias. And I don't remember anything striking out at me as being horrible. Even some of the bad matches were sort of fun (Kane and Rikishi Vs Road Dogg and X-Pac comes to mind). You can do a lot worse than that one. I just think it was a huge letdown since the WWF was putting on really good pay per views at the time.
-
Uh...congratulations. Think they'll have some sort of ceremony with The Philly Phanatic and maybe other famous losers (Barry Horowitz, the surviving members of the '62 Mets, etc) in sports history on the field?
-
Honestly, I think the first WrestleMania really sucks but it being the first one, it kind of protects itself from criticism and protects it from me hating on it too much. If you get rid of the nostalgia though, that is one bad show.
-
Yeah, X-8 wasn't bad but it was nothing special outside of Hogan-Rock (which was only special because of the atmosphere around the match, the match itself kind of sucked). All of the other matches felt thrown together. I think the worst for me would be; XV, II and XIII with IX close behind.

I just got Homicide: Life on The Street Season Four on DVD and man, what a good show. There isn't a weak spot in the cast. Why do I have to discover these shows almost a decade after they've been cancelled?
-
Oh man, I loved The Wallflowers back in the day. One of my top 5 or so favorite bands when I was 10. Their career sort of went downhill after Bruce Springsteen did "One Headlight" with them at The VMAs one year and completely upstaged them.
-
Don't have much to add since I haven't seen WrestleMania 23 but why isn't WrestleMania 2 getting mentioned when talking about crappy shows? Yeah, I know nostalgia gets in the way but come on, that is a seriously shitty show.
-
I did this in the Greatest thread but I've decided to switch it up a bit and change my list. And it's always more fun for me to discuss the worst rather than the best. I'm not counting guys who only had it for one or two nights. 5. Rocky Maivia (First title reign as the Blue Chipper) 4. The Godfather 3. Road Dogg 2. Billy Gunn 1. Albert Discuss.

I think The Genius Vs Kamala beats it. I can't remember the last time I saw The Genius on a card wrestling. Probably the early 90s. And who's going to play the face in that one? Either way, the fans win. You get Kamala The Friendly Savage or a babyface Genius.

Electric Light Orchestra- "Telephone Line"
-
Yeah but Glen Jacobs wasn't as good as is as Kane as he was as Issac Yankem. He was still pretty green back then IIRC.
-
I forgot about a big one that has to be on the 90s revival tours; Live. I was watching an episode of Homicide: Life on The Street on DVD and at the end they played "I Alone". Live, what a shitty band.
-
I still maintain that it's actually a decent show outside of the crappy main event. You've got the ladder match, a fun Hakushi-123 Kid opener, Bret Hart performing another miracle and carrying Issac Yankem to a *** match. Barry Horowitz wins again! And everything else is either decent enough or too short to really suck. Even The Undertaker Vs Kama manages not to suck. Hell, I'd go as far as to call it a good show.

Gerry Rafferty- "Right Down The Line" Talk about a guy whose career was ruined by MTV. Rafferty was(is?) one ugly motherfucker. Solid soft rocker though.
-
Does RAW is Nitro count? (The episode early on in the Invasion, where the main event between Buff Bagwell and Booker T, was announced by Scott Hudson and Arn Anderson)
-
Harry Shearer, Michael McKean and Christopher Guest as Spinal Tap on This is Spinal Tap. I fucking die every time I listen to it.
-
It's between '88, '91 and '94. IMO, there isn't a bad pick in the bunch. '88 is the weakest but most 80s PPVs are good for nostalgia and it has plenty of memorable moments. '91 is a show that might not be great from a workrate perspective (Outside of the awesome IC title match obviously) but is a hell of a lot of fun. '94 is a bit underrated and is really only marred by the silly main event and a boring as hell Lex Luger-Tatanka match.
-
Really. Were the original Chipmunks that great? Same thing with Underdog. I'm more worried about Jason Lee's career going down to the toilet because of doing those two back to back.
-
I'll vote for '94, solely because it was the first pay per view I ever ordered (well my parents ordered for me, more accurately) I'd like to say I ordered it for Bret-Owen in a steel cage but I ordered it for Undertaker Vs Undertaker. I wanted to see how they pulled it off and you know what? I enjoyed that match as a six year old mark.
-
I almost watched it, sort of thinking it would be some kind of soft porn but then saw the TV 14 rating and decided against it. What exactly is it?
-
Butterbean Vs The Big Show- book it now, Don King!
-
Hahah- yes, that's right. And Bret Hart also retired semi-abruptly right before that pay per view (Souled Out 2000). At least Tank Abbott didn't win the title at the pay per view....
