I remember in a message board thread (not on this board I'm pretty sure), some poster was talking about how Rocky Balboa was garbage and Rocky 5 was the perfect way to wrap up the series. I can understand the first part even though I enjoyed Rocky Balboa but the second was just batshit insane.

I enjoy one or two kinds of Combos (the aforementioned pizzeria pretzel ones are pretty good) but some of them, when I ate them, I got a lingering feeling that I was eating repackaged dog treats. I mean they even look similar. Fun fact; Quentin Tarantino's favorite breakfast cereal ever was a Bill and Ted cereal. He mentioned it in some interview I read and talked about how he knew they weren't going to last so he bought out several grocery stores' entire supply of it. Seems like something Tarrantino would do.

Dunkaroos....now those were the shit. I don't know if they're around anymore, I had them a year ago or so. I think they're along the same lines as Combos (Which I also love), where as they're only found occasionally at odd gas stations and convenience stores.

Whatever happened to former OVW guys, Steve Bradley and Ron "H20" Waterman? Bradley for a while was WWF's most hyped prospect, he was touted as the WWF's answer to RVD than the WWF actually signed RVD and he was pretty much toast. And Waterman sucked, but I thought he looked one of those guys the WWF might push to the moon. Are they still wrestling somewhere in the indies?

Semi off topic but I saw John Cena the night before he made his TV debut, teaming with former hot prospect, Steve Bradley against Lance Storm and Christian at a house show.

So I'll be going to my first ever concert on Wednesday
King Kamala replied to fazzle's topic in Music
I remember my first concert; Weird Al Yankovic, Halloween Night '99. I was eleven years old and the female singer/songwriter opening act nearly got booed off stage. I guess eight year olds can't appreciate songs about the evil that men do. -
Oh hell yeah, we have those in Maine still. You're talking about the lobster rolls? They're actually a bit better than what you'd think a lobster roll at McDonalds would be but it's pretty much all lettuce with a tiny tiny bit of lobster salad. I rarely if ever get one. Especially when you can get much better ones, albeit for slightly higher prices. I remember when I was in DC back around '99 or '00, McDonalds had chicken wings. I had a mild allergic reaction to 'em and found out they had MSG in them. Needless to say, I'm glad they never found their way up here. How about The McDonald's hot dog that was around for a brief period in Summer of '02. I just remember the uberpatriotic commercials with little kids with sparklers and miniture American flags shilling the All American hot dog.

Patterson retired in 83/84ish I thought. Might have wrestled part time I have no idea. I'd go to the Hampton Roads, VA show in '01. The undercard sounds bleh but I'd love to see the main event (Benoit and Jericho Vs Steve Austin and William Regal). Most of these card, IMO, are really underwhelming sounding on paper.

I don't know if I mentioned this already. But I must have been one of the few people to like Idlewild, The OutKast "musical" (It only had two or three numbers in it- one of which was played over the credits) that came out last year. I don't know there's something about a hip hop musical set during the 1930s that really appealed to me.

They're fairly well stocked here in the Portland, Maine area. The convenience store up the street has about 10 different flavors. I'm personally partial to The Arnold Palmer or the RX Energy Drink. And they're still a buck. Good stuff.

Yeah, the villain was a Japanese spy (Played by a white guy in makeup of course) who has some kind of ray that turns people into zombies or something like that. Haven't gotten a chance to watch it yet, but will do so tomorrow. If people think Hollywood is racist now, at least they usually have actual Arabs play Arab terrorists instead of white guys in makeup like they used to do back in the day for almost every ethnicity.

I got the old Batman serial from 1943 from NetFlix today, should be fun to watch. Looking forward to hearing Batman and Robin using ethnic slurs.
-
I'd call it a dramedy- though it was heavier on the drama than comedy.

Breakfast/Lunch (Woke up late today): Two slices of leftover Buffalo Chicken pizza and a big glass of water Dinner: Fried egg sandwich with ham and cheese, Utz Sour Cream and Onion ruffle chips and an Arizona Ice Tea RX Energy Drink

The last free show I went to was two summers ago when I saw Better Than Ezra downtown. During the set, somebody kept throwing batteries at me and my friend when we were half jokingly dancing to some of the songs. I don't know whether they were hardcore Better Than Ezra fans that could see through our sarcasm or just some assholes- but I'd be willing to bet the latter.

Fountains of Wayne are playing a free show on August 9th at Copley Square Park in Boston. Sweet. Bands I like NEVER play free shows. It seems like the only bands that play free shows around here are third rate jam(and reggae) bands and oldies acts.

Live Free Or Die Hard (Die Hard 4) trailer

I've seen PG-13 movies with one F Bomb dropped in 'em. -
Weird food day for me Breakfast (at 11:30 A.M.): Two slices of watermelon and two cups of Cranberry Ginger Ale ( I like cranberry juice and I like ginger ale but I didn't think it was a very good combination) Lunch: Macaroni and cheese, big glass of water Afternoon Snack: Some plain Utz ruffled chips and a Vault Dinner: Peanut Noodles, leftover green beans and some more water Dessert: Chocolate glazed donut and some more water I'm about to make some nachos.

Eh, I got a week of summer classes in two weeks. Living in a dorm in rural Maine, don't how much I'm going to be on here that week haha. Probably going up to my camp a lot. I've got a couple of concerts/stand up comedy gigs I'm going to. Zack Galifinakis on July 7th in Boston, Fountains of Wayne on August 9th in Boston (free show!), HippieFest(huge oldies concert) on August 12th. Other than that not much out of the ordinary.

Granted, I haven't watched GAB '96 since I was a kid but I remember it being pretty good. IIRC, there's a good Sting/Steven Regal TV title match on there.
-
I think Blackjack Brawl was the show Foley talks about in his book where he wrestle Jimmy Snuka in a lumberjack match that ended in a double countout. They booked The MGM Grand (A 22,000 seat arena) for the show and only about 300 people showed up.

Loved it as much if not a little bit more than the 40 Year Old Virgin. As an Undeclared and Freaks and Geeks mark, I loved to see that he fit in so many people from those shows in.

As much as I liked Knocked Up, the chances of it being #1 right now are slim to none. I predict a strong third place finish next week (Behind Ocean's and either POTC or Surf's Up. I will say this though, Knocked Up will stick in the Top 5 for longer than any of the aforementioned other movies (except Surf's Up maybe- there aren't many kids movies out now)

I couldn't have said it any better. There isn't a person I know that had a bad thing to say about this movie. There's either the people that saw it and loved it or the people who haven't seen it, heard it was awesome and will see it soon. The only people (critics or friends) I know who didn't like Knocked Up to some extent was the local "alternative" weekly paper's film critic who gave it **. But they're just contrarian assholes over there. I'm having a hard time thinking of the last time they gave something more than *** that wasn't playing at one of the local arthouse cinemas.
