Yeah some of these examples are really, really bad. Like The Wedding Singer is one of the two or three most popular Adam Sandler movies probably. It was popular enough to have it's own musical!

There's also 28 Weeks Later coming out next week but that's not really going to challenge it either.

5 Greatest Intercontinental Champions
King Kamala replied to Darth Vader's topic in General Wrestling
I was going to put Chyna on there as an honorable mention. When she got the belt, that's when it jumped the shark for me (Even though it's reputation had fallen quite a bit in the mid and late 90s). Despite a few good champions here and there, the Intercontinental Championship hasn't been the same to me since she won the belt. -
In no particular order; Mick Foley Jesse Ventura Jim Ross Jim Cornette Bobby Heenan Honorable mentions; Kevin Nash, Ric Flair, Pat Patterson (I'm sure he has a shitton of good stories about his decades as Vince's right hand man), Chris Jericho and Edge.

5 Greatest Intercontinental Champions
King Kamala replied to Darth Vader's topic in General Wrestling
Alright here's my Top 5 5. Don Muraco 4. Bret Hart 3. Honky Tonk Man 2. Shawn Michaels 1. Randy Savage And just for fun, the bottom 5 and I'm not counting guys who only had it for one or two nights (Dean Douglas or The Mountie) 5. The Godfather 4. Marty Jannetty 3. Billy Gunn 2. Santino Marella (May be soon to tell but even though the title is a mere shadow of what it once was, his whole title reign is a crock) 1. Albert -
Agreed...the first half hour or so was solid, not great but solid but the rest just fell flat IMO with the exception of Will Ferrell's cameo.

Albums that are unlike any other album in a band's discography
King Kamala replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in Music
I know I'll probably get slammed for this but I'd hate for this thread to end without a mention of KISS' concept album ( a soundtrack to a movie that was never made), Music From The Elder Here's the infamous video for the album's single, "A World Without Heroes", which was co-written by none other than Lou Reed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCFhDBNkJs0 -
The Boomtown Rats- "Up All Night" I can't believe this song isn't on any of their greatest hits albums. It's probably their second most famous song stateside.

I thought I was the only one who liked House Party 3. Bernie Mac stole every scene he was in that movie. The only really bad things about is the presence of Immature and the lame replacement they got for Martin Lawrence. Of course, House Party 4 has NOTHING to do with the original trilogy and it has a complete piece of shit.

I've remembered another one, not sure if it's been mentioned The Principal: You think an action movie starring Jim Belushi would suck ass, but surprisingly this is one of my favorite cheesy 80s action movies. Belushi plays the principal of an inner city high school who has to drive a bunch of drug dealers and gang members out of the school with the help of the head janitor/school security guard played by Louis Gossett Jr. This movie convinced me that Jim Belushi would have been way better off doing action movies than milking the Belushi name and doing lame comedies. Out Cold: Wacky teen comedy where a bunch of snowboarders and townspeople (An odd bunch led by Jason London and featuring Zack Galifinakis and David Koechner) fight an evil developer (Played by The motherfucking Six Million Dollar Man, Lee Majors) who's trying to turn their small Alaskan town into a slick resort town. I can't explain really why I like this movie but Zack Galifinakis and David Koechner OWN in it.

I like how Luke Perry is in that, he was on the top of the world at the time the original was out. Now fifteen years later, he's starring in the direct to video Sandlot 3. The worst direct to video sequel I can think of is either Like Mike 2: Streetball or House of The Dead 2.

I'd also debate calling The Eagles pretty boys but then again- we are talking about pretty boys circa 1977 or so... Summer is usually when I listen to bands I loved in middle school (AC/DC, KISS, ZZ Top, Led Zeppelin, Ted Nugent).

Pootie Tang: I've met one other person who likes this movie, even Chris Rock and Louis C.K. (Who directed it) really hated it. Rocket Man: Harland Williams' first, last and only starring vehicle. Eh, I liked it a lot at as a kid and still like it now. I'm sure there are more but that's all I can think of now.

I personally love Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'. Even though that's one of their worst songs. It's just Steve Perry hits these unimaginably high notes towards the end that I didn't think were humanly possible.

I like two Eagles songs, one is "I Can't Tell You Why" and the other is "In The City" (I credit this to its inclusion in The Warriors I've found myself listening to a lot of old Motown and 60s pop music in the past few weeks for some reason.

My favorite of Steinman composition is sort of second tier Steinman- "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" By Air Supply I just love it when he sings "I can make all the stadiums rock." because it's the most inaccurate line in any song ever. When has Air Supply ever made a stadium rock?

Aw man I'm so there.

Austin was on Howard Stern a couple days ago but that's all I can think of.

There are a lot of folks in the TSM community who don't actually watch WWE (anymore). I gave up on it quite a while ago. Plus, this is a smark board anyway. Well yeah I rarely watch it myself (I wanted to see it because I'm a fan of cheesy action movies), but still there are plenty of folks who do watch it. Maybe everybody just gave up after The Marine and See No Evil. I'm glad Hot Fuzz is #7, now that was a damn good movie. Word of mouth must be getting out about it. Hopefully this means Spaced will come out on DVD but I digress. I feel weird defending The Condemned so much since I didn't really it like that much. It's a decent bad movie, maybe worth a rental if you like that sort of stuff.

Is WWE trying to make great movies? They're trying to make movies for their fans and suffice to say, most wrestling fans love brain dead action and slasher films.
-
Has anybody seen the movie besides me? That's a bad sign for the box office if only one person on a wrestling message board has seen a movie targeted towards wrestling fan. I would have no problem with a movie like Commando (and fuck you Cabbageboy- I love that movie) but WWE can't even make a ripoff of that competently! The Condemned doesn't have enough good one liners and has too much preachiness. I would like to see another (better) movie teaming up Steve Austin and Vinnie Jones and I already have the plot. The Governor of Texas is murdered on a trip to London and a Texas Ranger (Austin) is sent over to investigate alongside Scotland Yard's toughest detective (Jones). THAT'S BOX OFFICE GOLD BAYBEE!

Dammit Hawk 34, the WWE are keeping my hopes of straight up, no braineraction flicks coming back alive! Er...just barely I think WWE Films can keep their guys as the leads and still make decent popcorn movies. It's not like they're going for high art, they're going for solid popcorn movies (be they action or horror). Honestly, I don't think fans would want to see any WWE Film that isn't an action or horror movie, it's really niche company. Nobody is going to see a romantic comedy produced by WWE Films. Romantic comedy fans will be turned off by the fact that it's a film produced by WWE and WWE fans will turned off by the fact that it's a romantic comedy. That being said WWE could make much better niche movies than they are now. For example, all The Condemned needed to become a decent action flick was to tone down the preachiness, trim some of the subplots and just do a balls out action movie. Oh and get a better villain. The guy who played the evil multi-millionaire really, really underacted the role. It's a fucking B action movie, ham it up! The wrestling fan in me would have liked to see Vince McMahon in the role but the movie fan in me and common sense tells me that some good character actor like J.K. Simmons could have played it to a tee. Like I said, I don't think WWE Films ever intended to or ever will produce big blockbuster films or an eclectic bunch of films but they could be making much, much better B movies.

It was way preachy and the film was filled with bad accents and bad performances in general. Yet, I still kind of enjoyed it. Definitely a good bad movie rather than just a plain bad movie. I loved Vinnie Jones as the laid back, sarcastic bad ass heel and Steve Austin was surprisingly competent. In fact, I'd say Austin is the 2nd best actor-wrestler behind The Rock. I'd like to see him do some more action movies with a better script and a better supporting cast. Plus there were a few good fight scenes. I'd say it's a worth a rental or a matinee ticket. There were only about five people in the theaters when I saw it. But the theater in general was pretty much empty. So nobody was seeing anything. I'm predicting a pretty weak weekend at the box office.
