WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
King Kamala replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
I as well was an Alex Wright fan. I even liked him teaming with Disco Inferno as The Boogie Knights with Tokyo Magnum as their sidekick. I always thought he got a bit of a raw deal. Each time he was about to get a big push some hasbeen veteran stood in his way (Roma in 95 and Duggan and Bagwell in 99) -
Satellite Radio doesn't have to follow FCC guidelines. Hell, he shouldn't even have bleeped it out (if he indeed did) FWIW, The song isn't bleeped out when it's played on terrestrial radio, it's played as "I Wanna Love You"

I was just watching my SNL Season One DVD last night and Loudon Wainwright III was the musical guest on one of the shows and I really enjoyed his performances. I was wondering if there were any fans of his, who could recommend me some of his essential stuff that I should get?

They could get one of the few boxing commentators from ESPN seeing how rarely Friday Night Fights is on and they could always get one of The Alberts.

Da Ali G Show: Da Compleet Seriez Pootie Tang Shut up, I liked Pootie Tang! And it was only $6
-
I read an article about the film's marketing where they're trying to make it seem like an event. Like a rock concert's coming to town. So far, I think it's worked.

The first three months were pretty great, then spring really sucked, and the last six months were uneventful for the most part. So on a scale from 1 to 10, I'd give this year a 6.

What about the International Bowl!? It's such a big game that it's international! Over/under on the attendance of the International Bowl: 10,000

To be fair, Dreamgirls was in something like a quarter of the theatres Night of The Museum was at (Dreamgirls was in 849, Night at The Museum was at 3768). So the fact that it made $15 mill in a weekend is pretty amazing.

I'm glad to see Rocky Balboa finished in the Top 5 for a second week. Way better than any Rocky movie starring a 60 year old Stallone has any right to be. And Mike Tyson's cameo was hilarious.

Nope, just a recluse (At least according to The E! True Hollywood Story:Family Feud I saw)

So what movies will you be going to see in 2007?
King Kamala replied to CBright7831's topic in Television & Film
Black Snake Moan The Simpsons Movie Pirates of The Carribean 3 Spiderman 3 Be Kind Rewind (Michel Gondry movie starring Jack Black) There Will Be Blood (Aw man that's going to be sweet) Alpha Dog Reno 911: Miami Blades of Glory (Sounds like it could be a potential bomb but Ferrell and Will Arnett in the same movie sounds almost too good to be true) Knocked Up -
Obviously you don't get the Magic School Bus book series and cartoon in The U.K. Man, that bus is so great. Much more entertaining than the 10 minute live version of Magic Bus.
-
Squeeze Box is a lot worse for me. Magic Bus is one of those longass boring songs that I zone out three minutes into it and then ten minutes later when I snap out of it, I'm like "Damn it! They're still playing the same song". Simply, Squeeze Box fills me with rage, Magic Bus is just a really, really boring song.

Best movies that didn't actually exist

In memoriam of Gerald Ford Ford: Starring Chevy Chase as Gerald Ford, Dan Akroyd as Richard Nixon and Candice Bergan as Betty Ford. -
I got Saturday Night Live: Season One on DVD for $42 yesterday at Best Buy. I'm going to pick up some new books today and I'll probably try to pick up Da Ali G Show: Da Compleet Seriez later this week.

Yeah that article in Rolling Stone about how he's a dictator with his band and he rehearses them like crazy just came out like this summer. Still, they did end up being a top notch back up band even if they did have to work 18 hour days to get that way Still, I'm upset he died partially because I never got to see him live. From the recent live clips I saw of him, he still had it. I thought he had a good 4-5 years ahead of him. Then again, with the lifestyle he's lived he should have been dead 10 years ago. RIP Godfather of Soul

Lex Luger plays Lex Luthor with Randy Orton as Superman in Superman Returns....AGAIN! A WWE Films production coming Fall 2008. Yeah I know Luger probably won't sign with the WWE but it really wouldn't take much. Give him $500 and T-shirt that isn't too tight and he's good to go. -
Also remember that they're wrestling mid day in fucking Iraq, that has to be unbearably hot and affect the quality of the matches.

A white film adaptation of Amen with Danny DeVito in the Sherman Helmsley role. Poop: The Movie starring Kenneth Brannagh and Dame Judy Dench -
I hate to be nitpicky but Bad Day by Daniel Powter is at least a year and half old. I have Live 8 on DVD (Which took place in July '05) and he plays it at the Berlin concert. Apparently the song was a hit in Europe six months before it hit the States.

I got a free three day trial to XM Radio Online. And man, the 90s station puts me in a real nostalgia trip. The latest block has featured The Real McCoy, Primitive Radio Gods and Toad The Wet Sprocket. It's like reliving elementary and middle school Oh man, "The Boy Is Mine"

Predict the next funnyman to go "serious"...
King Kamala replied to Jonathon's topic in Television & Film
Nah, I think the topic is about funny actors going serious for a role. Besides, there are very few comedic actors that go serious for good. I could count them on one hand (Jamie Foxx, Will Smith for the most part). Though Robin Williams seems to alternate, doing a serious movie and then a funny one. -

and he was a villain on a season of The Shield. From what I've heard, he was amazing in the role. No offense, but anybody who picked Adam Sandler is an idiot. Punch Drunk Love came out like five years ago and it was the best thing he's ever done. -
Hey pal! Just because you wear a dress doesn't mean you're gay! Not only, William Regal and Finlay getting pushes but Squire Dave Taylor comes back. If only Chris Adams were alive, he'd have a shot at becoming an upper midcarder on Smackdown right now
