Has this happened anywhere else where the WWE stopped running the huge venue in town and moved down to a much smaller venue. I knew WWE was starting to hit rock bottom last year when they ran a 3000 seat casino ball room in New Hampshire for a Smackdown house show, an hour and a half away from my house and couldn't sell it out.

Jethro Tull released a Christmas album recently. I gotta give that at least one listen.

Wow and it still hasn't broke huge. I'm telling you it will. I assume Southern Maine (which is kind of like an extended suburb of Boston) is Catholic. I don't know about the rest of the state, but my buddy that was in the Christian gig always told me had as many if not more gigs in Central Maine and Northern Maine.

I got Devo's cover of Satisfaction stuck in my head, which is bizarre since I haven't heard it in six months. Christian music is getting way too huge, three or four Christian acts have played the arena here (And this is Maine, not exactly die hard Christian country). I had a classmate who was in a local Christian band that played gigs in New Hampshire and in fucking Quebec (Which is like six hours from here). I don't mind Christian music, little creepy but it's getting way too huge. Soon it's going to invade every secular radio station (Christian hip hop is on the horizon)

I like Wham! Bam! Bodyslam! I can't remember anything except Ted DiBiase hosted it and it featured a battle royal won by Bob Backland and a lumberjack match between Bret Hart and Owen Hart (That yours truly was in attendance for).

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
King Kamala replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Yeah and I don't think they had MAYBE 15,000 people there which wouldn't have even sold out the New Orleans Arena (New Orleans basketball arena). WCW never really had a HOLY SHIT the crowd is huge show (Besides the Nitro with Hogan-Goldberg at the Georgia Dome) even during there peak they ran in arenas instead of stadiums. Here's a question for you Canadains, was WCW ever the #1 wrestling promotion in Canada? Even when WCW was superhot, they didn't run in Canada that much and the crowd at Candian Stampede in 97 was superhot. I can only remember two WCW PPVs in Canada and they were both well after WCW's peak. -

Now I remember that part but still the AstroDome is a 70,000 plus venue. There's no way a seriously fledging WCW with KISS, who's stock was starting to fall a bit could fill the AstroDome or even 30,000 seats. Even, WCW wasn't stupid enough to go through with it. -

What was up with the whole WCW New Year's Evil card on New Years Eve 1999, where WCW expected to pack the Houston AstroDome with a Vampiro-The Demon main event? Were there any other planned matches for the show besides the aforementioned Vampiro-Demon match? -
My younger brother's friends had a morbidly obese teacher last year and during the middle of class the teacher's pants fall down. Now the question is, where do you get pants so loose that they're too big for a morbidly obese guy?

I liked when the NBA used an Elvis song in there commericals a year or two back and had Vlade Divac dance about. Almost as good as the NBA on TNT commercials where Vlade played the sax. Now that's how they should promote the NBA, they need more Vlade in their commercials.

I'm seeing the Wizards play against the Pistons when I visit DC on Christmas break. I don't wanna start a new thread, so I'll ask the DC/Baltimore area residents around here, how's the area around the MCI Center? I know DC is kind of scuzzy so I'm just wondering and what are some good places to eat around there? Last question, how's the MCI Center itself? The only basketball arena venue I've visited is the Fleet Center, it's perfectly fine, but it's non descript.

I just bought my older brother a ticket to a Scissor Sisters concert for Christmas, btw that is officially the GAYEST thing I've ever bought someone for Christmas.

Since when was Tears for Fears looked upon highly by the "indie" crowd? I assume Gary Jules' cover of Mad World. Here's the list of concerts coming to my hometown: Fri 12/10/04 Cake State Theatre Fri 12/10/04 The Walkmen State Theatre Thu 12/16/04 Kenny Rogers Cumberland County Civic Center Tue 12/14/04 Sevendust State Theatre Wed 03/02/05 "Taste Of Chaos" Cumberland County Civic Center Wed 03/02/05 Killswitch Engage Cumberland County Civic Center Wed 03/02/05 My Chemical Romance Cumberland County Civic Center Wed 03/02/05 Senses Fail Cumberland County Civic Center Wed 03/02/05 The Used Cumberland County Civic Center Wed 03/02/05 Underoath Cumberland County Civic Center Fri 05/20/05 Sarah McLachlan Cumberland County Civic Center. You'd expect one decent concert coming to my town, even if it is in the middle of nowhere. When the best concert coming to your town in the next six months is Cake, you know it's time to get out.

A homeless guy pushing a shopping cart five feet in front of me and we were the only two people around so I couldn't cover and say that guy over there is hillarious. The homeless guy gave me an evil glare and I stopped.

How about Jim McMahon? he can't be THAT old. Besides the 80's are making a comeback, that'll drive up the attendance through the roof. Hell how bad's the O-line? bring back the Fridge while there at it.

Eh, she's got enough hits. I don't think it's longevity at all, the Backstreet Boys had a greatest hits album like three years ago and they had only been around for two or three years at that time. I think it's the amount of hits not amount of years. Besides I think she's too lazy to record a whole album right now.

I saw a Ted Nugent box set today at the local CD store today. A two disc Ted Nugent greatest hits would be stretching it to the max but a box set that's ridicoulous. Even if it includes his stuff with Amboy Dukes and Damn Yankees. Edit: Just checked on All Music, it's a double disc greatest hits compilation but was released in 1993, hence why I thought it was a box set. I love the Nuge, but does he really deserve a two disc greatest hits compilation? he had like three hits max!

What's the worst WCW Nitro Ever?
King Kamala replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
You also forgot one other gem.... Sting hit Lex over the head with a bowl of bean dip! If that's not hardcore I don't know what is. -
Crystal Method and Paul Oakenfield, if you're into that kind of stuff. The Doors of the 21st Century and Al Green are both in Anaheim. Joe Satriani in Ventura. Thought there would be bigger acts in your neck of the woods.

Concerts you were dragged to by friends/relatives/enemies don't count. Only Concerts you went to on your own free will, thinking they would be good do. I'd say the worst one I sat through was sometime in 2000, it was a 5 hour marathon radio station sponsored (It was the Top 40 station to boot) concert, 75% of the audience was papered and nobody had any enthusiasm including most of the performers. The whole concert was like two hours of eight bands (Six of which were crappy, two were meh) playing and three hours of setting up for those bands. Most of the crowd left during the headliner, Third Eye Blind's set, they were so exhausted from the mind numbingly bad show (Myself included) .

I willingly saw SR/71, but it was surprisingly not horrible. There lead singer has loads of charisma which makes up for the fact the rest of the group had the combined charisma of a log. The Exies were the supporting band and I can't remember a single thing except for the drummer was an asshole and wouldn't give his drumsticks to the fourteen year old girls in the front row (And the concert was in a small club, only could fit about 250-300 people.) In retrospect the show wasn't very good, and probably is 2nd behind the aformentioned radio station "bash. Oh and I almost went to a show featuring this lineup; 98 Degrees, Jessica Simpson, Dream and the Baha Men. Luckily cooler heads prevailed, although a friend of a friend went and said all throughout the Baha Men's set, his dad kept shouting "PLAY WHO LET THE DOGS OUT!" As if Who Let The Dogs Out? Was a rare B side rarely played by the Baha Men.

Fastball had two modest hits, Out of My Head and You're An Ocean. I wouldn't even say J.Geils is close to a one hit wonder, they have at least three that come to my mind (Must Have Gotten Lost, Centerfold and Freeze Frame). Plus they did the theme to the movie, Fright Night, granted the theme sucked but they did the theme for it.

Razor Ramon Vs Ted DiBiase: Summerslam 93 (Razor Ramon was getting a huge push and not only was Ted DiBiase on his way out but he hadn't done anything of note for a while except get beaten by 123 Kid.)
