The OaO 2003-2004 NBA Season Thread!

Well I did see him on an episode of NBA Inside Stuff with Ahmad Rashad a few months back talking about his career....hmmmm...... Mugsy Bogues played for the Warriors for a few years, maybe he was getting tired of the short end of the stick. Wait isn't Tim Hardaway somewhere on the payroll at ESPN? I think I've cracked the case.

I really don't know but ESPN rarely shows several teams I really want to see, like the Nuggets (They're on TV now and then) and The Miami Heat (Now they're never on TV). We must crack this mystery on who's the Golden State Warriors mark in the ESPN programming department.

    Caught In A Dream - - - Tesla

Tesla actually played in 20,000 seat ampitheatres on one of their last tours albeit only 5,000-6,000 people showed up a night and it was a package tour with Vince Neil, Jackyl and a few other washed up hairbands.

    Game Over

Actually the episode of the Mullets was just an unaired episode cause when I looked at the digital cable guide for it, it said rerun.

    Least Funny Mainstream Comedians

Eddie Griffin, just look at some of the movies he's done, almost all terrible and the decent ones he had small or supporting roles. And he starred on Malcolm and Eddie, that only should put him on the list. On a totally unrelated note when did they do a film version of Paul Bunyan starring Eddie Griffin as Babe the Blue Ox? It must be some direct to video tripe cause I can't remember it.

    Caught In A Dream - - - Tesla

I've only heard it on the classic rock station (Where with all respect to Tesla, they play it a lot) but man is that one shit song. I could see it being played on a top 40 or one of those stations that play "The best of the 80's, 90's and today".

Celtics are back at their old ways of sucking. The Lakers game was at least competitive, tonight the Pacers made them their bitch. I pray to God, we don't get the 8 seed in the east because that's a hell of a lot worse then a lottery pick.

    Men's basketball Conference Tournament thread

My home state team the UMaine Black Bears is playing the Vermont Catamonts (Wtf is a Catamont anyways) for the America East title tommorow. Hopefully my boys can hold it down before getting murdered by a 1 seed.

Does anyone think Karl Malone should have stayed with Utah (Besides Jazz fans)? He could have gotten the scoring title a whole lot sooner and he wouldn't have to live under the media microscope. I don't know but to me Malone doesn't seem like an LA or NY player.

Celtics win two in a row since god knows when, sure it was against the Raptors but still they look like they've gotten a solid starting five for the first time in a long long time. Sure the bench is depleted but it's been that way for a few years.

First spring training game in three days, Mets Vs Dodgers. I'm gonna watch a bit even though I don't really care for either team. It's just gonna be great to see baseball again.

I'm not gonna judge Ainge until 2006, when his machine gets working, until then this is just experiment after experiment. I can't believed I missed the Celtics winning, geez this may not happen for a while. Celtics are projected to get Jameer Nelson at No. 8 in next year's draft, your thoughts Celts fans?

    WWF short live gimmick characters

How about Who? I'm talking about Who? Who knows Who is? OK that joke was never funny, but talk about short lived. I remember he had one squash match to put himself over, then got squashed by a few mid card babyfaces and disappeared all within two months.

    Best venues for a show

How about the Manhattan Center that was used for the early RAWs and some ECW shows, that had a very distinct almost indyish look in them. It could only fit around 1000 people give or take a few hundred.

    WWF short live gimmick characters

Tom Brandi actually beat Marc Mero by countout I think after dropkicking him out of the ring. What a crappy finish. Does anyone remember the Home Improvement match between Duke Droese and TL Hopper that main evented an episode of Superstars in late 96ish. I think it was Duke Droese's last match in the WWF, cause TL Hopper went over. All I remember was thinking that this match wasn't even good enough to main event a Superstars. Also does anyone remember the Headbangers gimmick before they were the Sisters of Loves, they were generic heel twin wrestlers that kept switching off. I think they were called the Spiders or something along those lines. They fought Sid on Superstars (Also in late 96ish) during Sid's WWF title run and the match was actually not a complete squash.

    MLB 2004 Predictions

I'm not saying they were in the pennant race, but they played (Edit: somewhat) well against other AL East teams.

    MLB 2004 Predictions

Well I gotta give the Jays credit, they almost had the division lead for about a milisecond in June and gave both teams scares up until August before saying "Fuck it, we can't beat these guys" The AL East as a whole last year was a dog fight, even the D-Rays beat my Sox at least three or four times (Out of sixteen ) and beat the Yankees. Heck the Sox were .500 against the Orioles last year. The AL East is pound for pound the best division in a long time in the MLB

The ONE and Only College Basketball...

You've obviously never been to Boston (I went to a Mavs-Celtics game earlier this year, the crowd was insane. Best Celtics game I've ever been to)

I think the Marlins will average 15,000-16,000 people a game, I think they didn't sell enough of the stars to totally get rid of the bandwagon jumpers and if they can hover around .500 they can stop the attendance from hovering around the 10k mark again. One thing I'm excited about going to Montreal is if my calculations are right and injury won't play a factor, the series I'll be seeing, the pitchers on the mound for Houston will be: Roy Oswalt, Andy Petite and Roger Clemens. Seeing Clemens (If doesn't break a hip) is a definite, cause I don't know how much longer he'll be around.

    MLB 2004 Predictions

The Red Sox and Yankees had a dog fight last year (With the Jays briefly included) and were not "emotionally tired" enough to muster series wins. I don't even think the Orioles will be a factor, their pitching downright blows with the exception of Ponson (Who's OK). I think the Blue Jays will easily finish in 3rd over the Orioles.

    WWF short live gimmick characters

How about Salvatore Sincere? The gimmick of an insincere Italian guy, not a mobster just a guy from Italy. He was one of those guys who had a gimmick for about a month and then got squashed for another few months and then disappeared. Even though he was only around for a while, he DID have a catchphrase I A LOVE-A YOU (What an insincere bastard)! How about Henry Godwin, the evil hog farmer that worked for Ted DiBiase? I know the face equivalent lasted a while, but the heel one was short lived (Not much as short lived as it was forgetable). Although he did stick around long enough as a heel to get squashed by both Sid and Diesel (In a title shot nonetheless!)

    Best venues for a show

Sportatorium is such a great venue cause it has such an old school look, small, crowded and ugly. You knew just by looking at it that you wouldn't be seeing any technical masterpieces in there. The Silverdome is an awesome venue for big shows cause it has such an epic look. I think if the WWF could have actually sold enough tickets for Wrestlemania VII, the LA Coliseum would have looked frikking awesome.

Dammit almost all of the Red Sox tickets are sold out, even for games against the Devil Rays and Indians they're sold out. DAMMIT! DAMMIT! DAMMIT! Oh well, I'm gonna see an Expos-Astros series in Montreal from August 13-15, watching baseball in that huge spaceship with about 5,000 other fans and about 40,000 empty seats is gonna be a much different experience then Fenway. Oh and I also have a very slim shot of going down to Baltimore and seeing an Orioles-D Rays series (Smell the excitement!).

    MLB 2004 Predictions

I feel bad for Toronto, they've assembled a very fine lineup with a solid rotation and then the Yankees (And Red Sox for that matter) add all of their big money free agents and the Blue Jays now have a snowball chance in hell of winning the AL East. If the Jays were in the AL Central they could easily win that division.

    MLB 2004 Predictions

I don't see why people are picking the Padres to win the NL West, sure they will be the most improved team in the league but you gotta remember they aren't exactly in a chickenshit division. They're team is still too young to run toe to toe with the Giants or even the Dodgers for that matter. They won 64 games last year, I think they've still got two more years to go before coming viable NL West contenders.
