TSM Profile: "Macho Man" Randy Savage
King Kamala replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
Some videos for your viewing pleasure. Randy Savage loses his mind thanks to the actions of "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin and The One Man Gang. ICW circa '80 "Macho Man" Randy Savage Vs Jake "The Snake" Robert. This Tuesday In Texas Part Two of Savage/Roberts Slim Jim Commercial! SNAP INTO IT! Randy Savage- "Speaking From The Heart" (From WrestleMania: The Album) Highlight reel of Savage's victories at WrestleMania IV (From Macho Madness Coliseum Video) -
I'd gladly do a vote as well.

Now if McGriff gets elected into The Hall of Fame, what are the chances of him wearing the Tom Ermanski Baseball World cap on his plaque?
-
I don't know why this happened but Sid Justice changing his name to Sycho Sid in his 2nd WWF run led to the one other wrestling fan in my 2nd grade class to believe that Sid Justice and Sycho Sid were too entirely different people...the two, however, were related! Man, wrestling getting popular in '97/'98 was a godsend because it meant I didn't have to hang out with dopes like that if I wanted to talk about last night's RAW.

Was possibly the #1 thing (TV series/film) that I wanted released on DVD. Up there with Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years. Well no longer. Definitely will be picking it up. Michael Shannon is one of the most underrated actors out there today. Anybody else here seen Shotgun Stories? Hell of a movie.

No SNL thread so I'll use this thread to say that thanks to the Digital Short, I'll have The Doogie Howser M.D/ theme stuck in my head for weeks.

Ugh- did I eat it or rub it in my face?

I've always admired fellow wrestling fanwho got hooked during The New Generation era. It was not an easy time to be a wrestling fan and it was probably even harder to get into it. I do think I have a much higher tolerance for schlock thanks to it. Though I got hooked in '94 which nostalgia aside, wasn't all that terrible and was '00 era WWF in comparision with the year that followed. I truly admire the people who got hooked (on WWF or WCW) in '95, particularly the first half of the year or so. Everytime I watch a truly bad episode of RAW, I just think to myself "At least it's not as bad as seeing William Shatner duke it out with The Roadie and bozos like Mantaur getting a push."

New, disgusting, and oddly delicious menu item I had at Denny's tonight; The Grand Slamwich. Scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, American Cheese and Mayonaise on French Toast. I'm going to regret this but it was good enough when I was eating it. Ironically enough, my younger brother called me afterwards to tell me that a high school teacher of ours had died of a massive heart attack last night. If I had heard that before, I probably would have not ordered The Grand Slamwich.

Venkman- In a way, I'm glad that it's shaping up that he won't get past Slayer because it's inevitable that he'll be shit on for being too nice of a guy and for still liking wrestling ala Lushus a few years back if he goes any further. I guess you have to be a bit of an asshole to become a first tier TSM Hall of Famer Kinetic- I think Milky winning the award last year was more of a lifetime achievement type thingy than for his accomplishments in '07 (which were as fine as any other year I suppose). But '08 truly has been Kinetic's year. KOAB- I love Agent and I'd like to see the man who beat me go far but royalty sticks together. Though on second thought- KOAB only voted for me once! Vitamin X- Clash of two very workmanlike posters- and I mean that as the highest of compliments. Probably the toughest matchup in this round.

Me and JN News were totally collaborate on my vote this round but he had to talk to his MSN contact, who had a hot scoop, that I assume he'll be posting momentarily.

OK, I was just thinking which two wrestlers/teams have had the worst series of matches against each other. My gut reaction is Giant Gonzalez Vs The Undertaker but then I remembered they really only had two matches. Upon further thought, I'm going to have to go with The Nasty Boys Vs Harlem Heat. Now I know none of their matches were egregiously bad like Taker/Gonzalez but none of them were remotely good either. They were just forgettable dreck, the worst kind of dreck there is. And it seems like they fought each other on every other WCW show from '94 to '97 just awful. This series is why I always thought WCW had a much weaker tag division than WWF as a mark (though in retrospect, it didn't). Runner up is Sid Vs Kevin Nash. They fought in WWF a buncha time, fought in WCW a buncha times. Fought matches where Sid was heel and Nash was babyface. Fought matches where Nash was heel and Sid was babyface. But never did they have a match that wasn't terrible. So what say you, TSM?

BTW, Twisted Intestine has left the board as a result of his crushing defeat in the first round of the TSM Poster Tournament so I don't think he'll come back. That means, we've had the final pick of this fair draft. I'm fairly happy with my selections. There were a lot of picks that totally slipped my mind that I missed which upset me but not too many that I was planning on picking but somebody got before me. And overall, I do like the ones I do have. On a scale from 1 to 10 on how happy I am with my picks with 1 being completely miserable over them and 10 being jizzing my pants in ecstasy over how good my picks are....I'd say I'm a 7.

Let's talk about: Randy Orton's face run
King Kamala replied to Epic Reine's topic in General Wrestling
This all occured during one of my hiatuses from watching wrestling but I think it's an unwritten rule that I appear in every Let's Talk About...thread so I'll chip in my two cents. I hope this post doesn't get construed as Orton bashing because I'd put him on my list of current favorites. I think Randy Orton just has a look on his face that's naturally smug and that really hurts your chances to be a successful babyface. It's very easy to be a smug, condescending heel but only a few have managed to be able to pull off doing that type of character as a babyface (The Rock, Chris Jericho, Austin, maybe Kevin Nash). Orton just doesn't have the natural charisma to pull it off. -
Heh- that guy in Northern New England is former WCW job guy Rick Fuller. It's good to see Goldberg's whipping boy on top whenever I attend an indy show around these parts.

Kamala's Tape of The Month Club (a suggestion for a new regular th
King Kamala posted a topic in General Wrestling
OK, I have yet another idea for a regular thread on here. What we'll do is every other week, we'll select an old school wrestling show (one of those Coliseum videos could be fun too), pick a time when we'll all watch it and provide sort of a running commentary ala the PPV threads in the WWE and TNA folder.Since we've been talking about the Hummer angle and the general crappiness of '99 WCW, I lay forth the suggestion of Great American Bash '99 for our first slection. The problem with this show is that it's so crappy that it might kill the chances of a second Tape of The Month. Maybe we should do something good. Is anybody interested in this idea? I'm also open to suggestions as to what show we'll watch first. -
My prediction list. Combination of who I'm hoping for and who I think will get in. Steve Austin The Von Erichs The Freebirds Terry Funk Ted DiBiase Paul Boesch Howard Finkel I'd be willing to bet one of Hogan inducts one of his cronies this year but which one? The Nasty Boys wouldn't be terrible candidates but WWE probably isn't too happy with them after that tryout match they gave them a year or two back where they stiffed their opponents and acted like primadonnas backstage. The WWE Hall of Fame has gotten slightly more credible in the past two years or so I don't think Beefcake will get in. My best bet is he inducts Mr. T in the Celebrity Wing and T delivers the unintentional comedy goods with his thank you speech.

Weren't Mantaur and PN News related? Brothers I think. Anyways, if my memory serves me correct, that has to be the worst pair of siblings in wrestling.

Ya know what- I'm not going to leave the board if I lose (which is looking likely). It was all going to be a setup for me coming back immediately for either A. The indefinite period of me leaving a board being a couple hours or B. Me coming back under an assumed name, posting exactly as I usually do but denying that I'm me. I've got the ability to recognize when an idea for a gimmick poster isn't good before I do it unlike some TSM posters and that's why I think you should vote for me! Besides I couldn't leave for long, I'm running another roundtable next week for the General Wrestling folder!
-
Mo getting eliminated in record time is besides the finish, the sole highlight of the Rumble. It didn't hurt that Mo was perhaps inexplicably the first babyface I didn't really like. Even as a six year old, I could tell he brought nothing to the table for Men on a Mission.
-
Boo urns. For the record, I've decided if I can't make it past the third round again, I will leave TSM indefinitely. So vote early and vote often if you appreciate my efforts in reshaping General Wrestling, affirming Czech's Guster fandom, and being all around swell guy.

Venkman (Perhaps Kinetic's toughest challenger for board supremacy.) Cheech (Glad to have seen him pull off the big upset) Kinetic (My man...even if he didn't vote for me last round, WTF? Guess the denizens of The Super Secret Board For Jerks have to stick together and vote for each other. Whatever, I still love you K-Tic) Mellow (Edwin is one of my all-time favorites but this has been a breakout year for Mellow) KOAB (As I said earlier, royalty sticks together. Smues' Cinderella run is well deserved though) King Kamala (If I manage to defeat a TSM legend like Agent- I have a good shot at making the finals. 'Course I fully expect to be slaughtered by Agent and deservedly so. I'll always be at the top of the second tier of TSM posters or the bottom of the first tier. I've resigned myself to that fate) Sensei John Kreese (Tough decision as treble made the most memorable post of the year but Kreese narrowly edges him out) Vitamin X (Cornerstone of the food folder. Is a bit brusque on occasion but is wildly informative. King beat me last year so I'm not voting for him as an extension of my affinity for minor grudges)

What the hell is he going to do now!? Drive himself to work?

Wow---I'm one of the dopes who thought Val Venis was a lifer. Then again- I thought Scotty 2 Hotty and Al Snow were lifers before their releases. A bit sad to see him go but hopefully he'll get one more solid run somewhere.

I'm too lazy to count- so I must channel Ed Koch and ask how I'm doing.
