Actually, The Jew Tang Clan would be equally as weird considering Maine's Jewish population is probably about as small as its African American population. I'd pay $40 to see The Jew Tang Clan...

Pretty crappy Rumble. I still say it tops '99 for Worst Rumble ever...'99 is so bad that it's almost entertaining, '95 is the fastest Rumble ever yet it still somehow is boring. As for the card overall, almost every match is in the **-*** range and nothing is really terrible (with the exception of the godawful Taker-IRS match) but at the same time, no match sticks out. This is the definition of a meh card.

See, from the trailers, I gather that Robinson is a cross between Jake Roberts (estrangement from his kid) and Lex Luger (appearance, both given health related setbacks that threatens to end their lives). Though I think this movie was probably at least written before Luger had his nerve impingement. Really we could probably draw compare and contrast Rourke's character with washed up pro wrestlers all day and have a hint of truth to each and every one of those comparisons.

Thinking about it, is there a less hip hop venue than a ski lodge in Maine? I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a single black person in the audience at the show. I'd love to go but it's $40 and a good hour and forty five minutes away from here.

Yes, this is a (somewhat) serious question. I really like "Since You Been Gone". Maybe it's the fact that Graham Bonnet looks like the type of guy who was on that short lived Fuse show where that would give squares metal makeovers (and generally do a poor job at doing so), maybe it's because it was the theme song to The Denise Show sketches on SNL around the time I started watching that show. Whatever it is, I consider myself a fan.

Observation; I don't think I've seen anybody here on TSM proclaim themselves to be a reggae fan. Hatred of reggae is the common thread that the music snobs and slobs seem to have here. Like pbone, I really enjoy Jimmy Cliff and some Wailers as well as Toots and The Maytals but the rest of the genre, I could take or leave.

Just found out that Wu-Tang Clan are playing a ski lodge here in Maine on Friday night...bizarre. This is the first big hip hop act we've gotten in Maine since Ja Rule came to Portland two years or so ago.

Transferred to another college. Doing just as well as I was at my previous school and doing a little bit better socially. Campus is isolated as fuck though so I get a bit of cabin fever. I'm really starting to wish I had looked at schools in The South and The West Coast. Fuck anyone who says you get used to the cold, I've lived in Maine for twenty years and Vermont for a couple months now and you don't get used to the shit. Not sure what the hell I'm going to do for a living but I'm certain that I'm going to go somewhere warm for a while. Other than that and developing somewhat of a drinking problem, it's been a fairly uneventful year. I'd give it a 6 out of 10.

Hulk Hogan: The Evil Racist! From WWF TV circa '80

I'm not a huge fan of episodes of sitcoms that try to tackle serious political issues but I make an exception for The Simpsons since they're generally not too preachy and more importantly funny. Season Seven, Episode Twenty Three "Much Apu About Nothing" Homer: Let the bears pay the bear tax. I pay the Homer tax. Lisa: That's the home owner tax Homer: Well anyway, I'm still outraged!

KOAB and Venkman's minor feud...is it purely in jest or is there legitimate hatred between the two? I'm inclined to believe it's the former.

I agree (which I think speaks more to the mediocrity of the current LSD folder than the quality of that thread) but I was just saying Hawk didn't pull off "the funny sleazeball with a dysfunctional family" off nearly as well as Milky does or even as well as Brody. He just came off as...well just some creep who complimented his father's penis.

Enigma would be my dark horse prediction for Worst Poster tournament but then I realized that the majority of the people who vote in these tournaments don't care about wrestling and thus haven't been subject to his crappinessness. 'Tis a shame

KKC's mildly amusing run-in with a wrestling star of the '80s story: Tony Atlas once did a bizarre freestyle rap for me and my brother at a Toys for Tots drive he was making an appearance at back in '99/'00ish. I think he was more interested in talking with us than we were talking with him.

Noah Fentz is a guy who worked on some indy shows. Can't remember if he was a promoter or a manager or what but he claimed that The Honky Tonk Man slept on his couch and he smoked a joint with the late Road Warrior Hawk.

Is there any way to ignore list or block people on here?

I'll make an attempt to intelligently respond to Shooter, though I'm afraid I might end up on the receiving end of a zinger- I was given some shit when I was a newbie by then established posters and I can't imagine being the only "established" poster who went through this experience. I probably deserved it too. I was a dumb ass fourteen year old that boarded too hard. Slowly but surely, I learned the social mores of TSM and how to properly board hard and look at me now, I was voted one of the sixteen best posters on here by my e-peers. Now, for whatever reason, a lot of new posters aren't very good. Personally, I find it best to ignore them unless they do something egregiously bad in which I case I have no qualms in making fun of it. The way I look at it, going out of your way to be nice to a terrible newb (or any poster that sucks) isn't going to help. It just encourages mediocre posting. If you make fun of 'em, it'll encourage them to do one of three things; 1. Learn from their mistakes and improve. 2. Leave the board altogether, or 3. Flip out at us in a hilarious fashion. It's win-win-win situation. -
IIRC, she's not open per say but she doesn't deny it. And threads like that make me glad ChokenHawk doesn't post outside of the wrestling and sports folders much anymore! YECK!

*BUMP* How come this classic hasn't been mentioned? Has to be one of the longest running commercials on television. They were making fun of it for being old as shit and tacky in House Party twenty years ago. I still see it occasionally on BET

I've said it before and I'll say it again Czech is The Kevin Nash of TSM! -
I'm a big fan of Grampa Simpson so I'm going to go with an episode focused on him for the next pick. While I greatly enjoy his batshit insane behavior, I also like seeing the easier to relate to aspects of his character and this one did a very good job of balancing the two. I'm going to go with... Season 5, Episode 21- "Lady Bouvier's Lover" (Abe walks slowly down the street after being rejected by Jacqueline Simpson for Mr. Burns) Abe: Good night, Mrs. Bouvier. Wherever you are... (Blue Haired Lawyer approaches him out of nowhere) Lawyer: Mr. Simpson, I represent the estate of Jimmy Durante. I have a court order demanding an immediate halt to this unautorized imitation. Boys? (The lawyer's goons grab Abe's hat and stomp on it then the three leave) Abe: Well would it be alright with you if I just laid down the street and died? Lawyer (Off screen, shuffling papers): Yes, that would be acceptable.

My all time personal favorite. Liked it so much that I bought a foam replica of it through the little WWF store catalog in the middle of WWF Magazines back in the mid '90s. Still probably have it kicking around somewhere in the 'rents house. And this one is the best. When I think of wrestling titles, this is the first one that pops to mind.

I don't know. 95% of rap artists don't seem like they'd be good fits to headline festivals. I mean, most of 'em just stand on stage with their massive posses and just shout a minute of each song on their setlist. Maybe well suited for a club or theater but not for a festival with 50,000 people in the audience. Though I have to say Snoop is probably the best out of the headliners listed. A Death Cab For Cutie concert sounds ungodly boring and I'm not sure if I've ever heard a Thievery Corporation song (not a knock on them- just saying I haven't heard any of their stuff). Looking at the rest of the bands scheduled, it appears they picked the lineup out of a hat.

Brody already posted a snuff movie-I think. Now I vaguely recall that. Still- there's a difference between posting one and making one. Amusingly enough, in that post, I was going to predict that if any TSMer were to make a snuff film it'd be Brody. The man can board a bit too hard on occasion.

That one's been a major backup pick for the last three or four rounds. I keep thinking of something else and telling myself that I'll take it the next round. Now it's gone. Ah well.

Last two picks are massive massive steals IMHO.
