  1. Went to a midnight showing of Enter The Dragon last night and man I can't believe I forgot how badass that movie was. I only saw it once before when I was 12/13ish and I guess pubescent KK didn't fully appreciate it. What other Bruce Lee movies should I check out? I'm 99% sure I haven't seen any of his others and if I did it was years ago.

    Let's Talk About: Rikishi

Two reasons and I'm not 100% sure either one is correct. One is I think Rikishi went down with another injury around that time. Second, I vaguely remember The Brothers of Destruction Vs Rikishi and Haku being a potential matchup for WrestleMania X-7 and then hearing a rumor that The Undertaker complained about being in such a low profile match up for the huge show in his hometown. And that was a pretty badass team. I really thought they were both finally going places. Haku/Meng(or King Tonga if you weel) had never really properly utilized IMHO by WWF or WCW and it looked like it might happen with this team but then Rikishi gets injured and he's stuck with Sunday Night Heat and Jakked duty until he gets released a couple years later.

    Boardloaf

I guess but I thought Catholics only didn't eat meat on Fridays during Lent. It's not Lent already, is it? I should know this. I'm sure my Irish Catholic great grandparents are rolling over in their graves as I type this. There is one good byproduct of lent though; Spicy Fish Sandwiches at Arby's!

    Boardloaf

Man, cafeteria dinners on Friday nights really suck. It's like the staff assume we're going to be home for the weekend or are just going to drink too much and throw it up later that night. Fish sticks, shitty fries, and peas. Peas...now that's one vegetable that hasn't gotten better as I've grown older.

TSM 646th most popular board of all time

I'm still stuck on the notion of a baby names message board. The kind of person that asks strangers on the internet what they should name their kid shouldn't be allowed to have children.

Oh yeah! Bite me, Baby Names World! We're more popular than you! YEAH!

    Sorry, you guys.

I swear I'll actually update this during winter break. I have some cool ideas for things to post on here. No joke!

    Let's Talk About: Rikishi

I think he actually came in around late-October/early-November, but still, it is a stretch. I was just checking this on Graham's website the other day. He debuted on Jakked the night before Survivor Series. So even though he did technically debut, I'm sure 99% of the viewers didn't know that*. *I was in the 1%...for some reason, I was a loyal Jakked viewer. God bless being a mark who will watch (or at least tape, in this case) any wrestling that's on television.
  9. I might have asked you this in a previous thread but what's your favorite one hit wonder? Also do you have an opinion on Randy Newman? I highly advise you check out his early albums if you haven't. Seems like he'd be right up your alley.
  10. They Live to be remade You know this is one of the few movies I've been asking to get remade. IMHO, it's perfect remake material. The original had a great concept but it could have been executed better and probably should have had slightly better actors.

    TSM Death Pool - 2008

Willing to bet that nobody had former WWE Developmental talent Steve Bradley.

    CTDWAT: Indies/Overseas/General

WWE Developmental Talent and ECWA Super 8 winner Steve Bradley found dead at 32 Damn. I was just thinking earlier today about how we hadn't had any young, recently active wrestlers die for a while (well...by pro wrestling standards) and then I find this out... I remember them hyping this guy up a bit in PWI and WOW in '99ish as one of the WWF's hottest prospects. I remember a lot of people saying he'd be the WWF's answer to RVD. His career kind of fizzled after a while though, especially after ECW went belly up and the WWF actually signed RVD. Dude was stuck in development for a long time, he signed in '98 and stayed till '02 without ever being called up. I saw him wrestle once at a house show shortly before he was released and wondered why he never got called up to the show. He was a hell of a lot better than some of the stiffs WWE brought up over the years.

    Let's Talk About: Rikishi

Yeah, I'm trying hard to think of a lazier turn than that one and I'm coming up blank. He was still kind of overafter he turned back face (He got the third biggest pop of the night behind Edge and Rey Mysterio Jr at a SD! house show I went to in the summer of '02) but it was more of a "hey, this guy is kind of funny" pops than the kind of a pop a huge babyface would get.

they would never of worked as a heel/face

There was also this weird Koko B. Ware Vs Tito Santana match on one of the Coliseum tapes where Koko heeled it up.

they would never of worked as a heel/face

Me and my brother once pondered what a Tito Santana heel turn would be like and all that we could come up with him growing a goatee and still saying "Arriba" at the end of his interviews but in an ominous hushed tone. I don't know why but the thought of that cracked us up.

What did/do your parents think of wrestling?

The only time, someone's flat out told me I couldn't watch wrestling was a friend's parent back when I was six or seven. I was over her house one afternoon and realized Superstars was on and quickly dropped whatever I was doing and turned on the TV. Her mom walked in while we were watching a Yokozuna squash and said something about it being too violent, turned it off, and made us go back outside. Though as I mentioned earlie, for about a week at the height of the Attitude era in early '99, my mom said me and my younger brother couldn't watch WWF for a while thanks to the general crassness of it all but she had no problems with us watching WCW. Thankfully, she forgot about this a couple weeks later and things went to normal. In retrospect, the WCW shows of that time period weren't all that much worse than the WWF ones (yeah I said it).

    WWE Folder sucks dick

Seconded, I really have no use for any posters with Canadian in their title other than Guitarist and Chris. And I know it's not a WWE folder complaint but while we're on the topic of posters with Canadian in their title... if you're judging solely by his posts in the Movies/DVDs/TV folders, you'd think CanadianDestroyer213 is a troll but since he posts in other folders, I've come to realize he's just a bit enthusiastic for a lot of second rate horror movies.

    Let's Talk About: Rikishi

Hell of a point there, Cheech. Rikishi as a heel wasn't a terrible in theory because really where could he go from there? He had just about hit his ceiling as a babyface at that point. They just turned him heel in perhaps the worst way they could have.
  20. The Manson question has gotten me curious, Milkhawk...name your five favorite historical figures and why they're your favorite.

The Pit comments on TSM's misogyny

I remember reading an article in National Enquirer or some supermarket rag in the checkout line where an alleged former gay lover of Scottie Pippen gave information about their torrid relationship. Apparently, he had video proof including one entitled "My White Slave". Lemme tell you, I wasn't unable to watch old Bulls games on ESPN Classic in the same light after reading that.

    Let's Talk About: Rikishi

As I pointed out in the "What Did Your Parents Think About Wrestling" thread, he was one of the few wrestlers my dad liked. He actually met him once working out at the local gym with Rey Mysterio Jr on the day of a house show back in '03ish. My dad asked him to autograph something for us and Rikishi told him he would after he was done with his workout but alas Dad forgot to ask him again and my dreams of having autographs from all of the members of Too Cool (Scotty 2 Hotty is from the area and seemingly did an autograph signing around here once every three months from '98 on and I got Brian Christopher's at an indy show in '02) were dashed! Dashed! All kidding aside, I think if Rikishi could have toned down the comedy schtickwithout totally eliminating it, he could have been a good semi-main eventer, occasional main eventer.Just look at his IC title run and feud against Val Venis as a sign of his potential. People just loved the guy in Spring and Summer of '00. . I don't think anybody would argue that his heel turn killed his career. But his face turn after that was just as bad and cemented his reputation as strictly a comedy wrester. He had injury problems too IIRC and that certainly didn't help at all either.

    Kanye West - 808s & Heartbreak

On my third listen right now, I think I actually am with Czech on this one. "RoboCop" is the highlight for me though I'm still not sure how his failed relationship is analogous to that movie.

Now why would I hijack somebody's account solely to pronounce my undying devotion to Leena? Just doesn't make any damn sense.
  25. Not a question but I'd like to read your thoughts on Charles Manson. I think I remember you saying something on enjoying his music.
