If it wasn't for KFC/Taco Bells, there wouldn't be any Taco Bells within an ninety minute drive for me. It's odd because we have a lot of standalone KFCs. What's the need for half of a KFC?

I really liked the Federationized version of Kerry Von Erich Vs Ric Flair. I guess it's a testament to Flair's skills that he was able to carry an extremely washed up Texas Tornado to a good match. Semi off topic- but let me talk about Royal Rumble '93 for a second. I always thought that the first part of the Rumble was actually really good but then it just died after Giant Gonzalez lumbered in out of nowhere and eliminated the 'Taker. Looking at the roster of '92 and '93's- it's kind of shocking how depleted the WWF roster became in one year.

I don't see how Aerosmith is not sufficiently mainstream. But a discussion on Foreigner's 4 would liven up this board. Does it showcase a band at the height of their powers or the beginning of the end? Or both?

All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft
King Kamala replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in Draft Faggotry
I'm going to pick one last arena to host TV tapings and house shows. This is a decent mid-sized arena with a solid atmosphere. It played host to the '93 Royal Rumble and Judgment Day in '01. Of course I'm talking about... ...Arco Arena in Sacramento, California -
Hey, any of you guys seen Shotgun Stories? It came out a couple months ago and played major cities. I got it from NetFlix based on Ebert's **** review. It's about a blood feud between two sets of half brothers in rural Arkansas following the death of their father. It's part revenge thriller and part dryass comedy. The only semi-recognizable person in this is Michael Shannon and it's produced by David Gordon Green. I have a feeling that Milkhawk in particular would enjoy this one.

"Last Child" is possibly my favorite Aerosmith song. Oddly enough, I never really got into them all that much during my classic rock that rocks phase in middle school. I got into virtually every other one of the big staples (Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, AC/DC) but I never really got any Aerosmith outside of a compilation and live album. I liked 'em but I never felt the urge to check out their deep cuts. I'm not too offended by their sucktitude over the past fifteen years or so. Whoever said they're the bargain bin, American Rolling Stones is spot on. I had a similar idea for a running thread here where we discuss lesser known albums by popular bands. Now unfortunately, I think my moment has passed. Damn you Cheech!

All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft
King Kamala replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in Draft Faggotry
Might as announce my new arenas here. The first venue will play host to monthly house shows and the occasional supercard. It played host to many supercards held by Don Owen's highly successful Pacific Northwest Wrestling promotion. Of course I'm talking about none other than... The Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon. Next up is my second venue picked in Los Angeles (which will be my homebase). While The Grand Olympic Auditorium is reserved for biweekly television tapings, this will be the venue of choice for my Thanksgiving Eve supercard. This venue is kind of a dump to put it nicely but I've always thought it had a hell of an atmosphere. It played host to the final portion of WrestleMania II and WrestleMania VII. My next venue is the legendary... ...Los Angeles Sports Arena in Los Angeles, California -

Hey Mellow- just wanted to clarify- you don't mind us adding another venue or two if we so choose, right? -
A list of popular shows/movies that I have never seen
King Kamala replied to a topic in Television & Film
I'm not particularly interested in Oz or Sex and The City but I think I'm not really the target audience for the latter. Oh here's a big one. Even though I'm a casual fan of science fiction, I've never seen more than an episode or two out of all of the Star Trek series'. I watched Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan once back when I was six or seven with my dad but that's about as much as I've watched. -
Watched this again about six months ago on DVD and the thing that stood out to me was how much of a one match show this really is. Piper winning his first title in the WWF is a nice moment and New Foundation-Orient Express is a fun opener but the other two matches are really not good at all (and Piper-Mountie is quite terrible wrestling-wise). In fact I'd say this and In Your House: Mind Games are the definitions of one match show. But what a match it was. Easily one of my two or three favorite matches of all time. I love pretty much any and every Royal Rumble, even the lesser ones are still entertaining but this one is on another level and IMO, can't be matched.

Again, I'm pretty much on the opposite side as you, Naiwf. I think making humanizing him a bit (emphasis on a bit) has made The Undertaker much more interesting. My favorite wrestlers have always been a bit vulnerable. I do agree that they kind of waver on his character though. Honestly, I'd be happy if they ditched the Classic 'Taker supernatural mumbo jumbo bullshit aspects altogether and have him be straight forward, kickass MMA influenced Taker with a dab of Big Red Devil Taker thrown in but I realize that Classic 'Taker is what 90% of fans want to see from him.
-
See I pretty much have the opposite opinion of naiwf and Noah Fentz, I was never an Undertaker fan as a mark but my respect for him has risen considerably in the past five or six years. I don't know if he's just being saddled with better opponents than he was in his "heyday" or what but I think he's having better matches than ever and is a more interesting worker than he was ten years ago. Sure, he's a complete primadonna and the superhuman zombie stuff gets a bit tiresome but I don't particularly care about that shit.

Well, there's that show hosted by Pete Wentz on Friday nights and I think they still show videos once in a while at odd hours but yeah I think TRL was probably the last regular "music video driven" show on MTV. The show really died a slow death once Carson Daly left six or seven years ago.

WWE General Discussion - September 2008
King Kamala replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
I think Helms is still out thanks to the neck injury he suffered back in May '07. I can't see why he'd be in a rush to get back now that there's really no cruiserweight division. Sadly, I think he's bound to become cannon fodder upon his return. -
Now that Bob mentions it, I saw Celebrity on one of the premium movie channels during my adolescent phase where I watched any and all R rated movies in the hopes to see some nekkid ladies. I think the crappiness of that one was another reason I steered clear of Woody Allen for a while. Though I guess there's a small chance I'd like it more now that I'm a bit older and a lot wiser.

I'm with you Nighthawk- Taco Bell is the one shitty fast food place that I'll always love. Unfortunately, the few ones around here seem to be KFC/Taco Bell combos and thus don't have the full menu. I went to a KFC/Taco Bell/Pizza Hut (the three faces of death) on Saturday and ordered like $12 worth of food for myself. They must have thought I was stoned out of my gourd. I will say that the Mexican Pizza has kind of gone downhill though.

Out of curiosity, what foreign and classic films have you watched, Exslade? I'd say dismissing entire vast genres is ignorant.

the Saturday-Night-Live.com one. It's really gone to shit in the past two or three months. Then again, it wasn't all that great to begin with. -

You're probably right AoO. As a sucker for any and all sketch comedy, there's no real reason I shouldn't have seen that show. And it's not like I myself haven't driven people away from worthy TV shows and films with my nerdy overquoting in the past. -
Hell, I'm the same age as you and I'm sure most twenty year olds film tastes are way more like yours than mine. I just have a problem with people proudly boasting about their ignorance. I haven't seen a shitload of classic and foreign films but I'm trying my best to rectify that situation.

Monty Python's Flying Circus I rented The Holy Grail at the library back when I was a lad and enjoyed it well enough but hanging around too much with nerds who overquoted them might have spoiled my enjoyment of Monty Python for good, sadly. -

Between liking pretty much everything listed thus far in "The Movies I Have Never Seen and Don't Care About" thread, Exsalde, arguing with outraged conservatives on an SNL message board, and just generally distracting me, it seems like the entire internet is trying to piss me off tonight! Good lord, the next time I argue with someone on the internet, I should kill myself! -
God, could Exslade be more of an ignoramus? I guess you don't like foreign films either cause they make you read?
