Yeah my assessment for Hawke is pretty much the same as Jingus'. A mediocre to passable actor who's picked some great roles. I remember his version of Hamlet was the absolute worst out of all of the film adaptations we watched in Senior English but everybody else seemed to pour the hate on Kenneth Branagh's version though for some reason. I guess my English teacher's passionate hatred of him rubbed off on the rest of the class cause I remember it being gimmicky and a bit over the top but not all that terrible.

All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft
King Kamala replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in Draft Faggotry
Yeah, PG-13 was definitely on my radar in the last five rounds or so of the draft and they could have fit in on my roster but ultimately I just didn't want to have another tag team roster. -
Isn't the weekend after Labor Day generally the worst box office weekend of the year? I'm hard pressed to think of another contender. Perhaps Super Bowl Weekend.

Mellow (or anybody else with a lot of spare time on their hands), could you give us a final roster for the promotions? -
I don't hate Jericholic. Yeah he's not the sharpest tool in the shed but he seems like a nice enough fellow. Being nice and having bad grammar seem to be the kiss of death here at TSM.

All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

Yeah, I think I'll need a couple weeks at least. I know it's kind of a ways away but maybe we could wait for Columbus Day Weekend? -
I think both Kurt Loder and John Norris are still around. Loder mostly writes for MTV.com IIRC but Norris still makes the occasional awkward as hell television appearance. It was all down hill for me after Gideon Yago, the black dude, and the pudgy bald metalhead who hated working at MTV all joined up around the same time.

Sorry Kinetic my buddy but I like The Hayes version the best and I liked it the best long before he died. There's something about incredibly epic, soulful Bacharach covers that gets to me. His version of "By The Time I Get To Phoenix" is a bit excessive though. Hate to rain on your parade, Kinetic but what do you guys think is the best version of this Tim Hardin classic?

The Booty Man. That brings back plenty of bad memories of watching WCW Prime after school on Mondays. Easily underrated in terms of bad Ed Leslie gimmicks. I don't think I've ever seen this one before. Never saw the tape at all of the video stores I used to haunt back in the day. Sounds like a good show on paper but WCW was more than a bit outlandishly cartoony at this point.

All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft
King Kamala replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in Draft Faggotry
I would write a year's worth of programming if it were still summer but since school is starting and free time is fleeting, I doubt I'll be able to scrape the time together too. I might be able to do a recap though of the year leading up to it. -
All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

I think I'm going to do a two city supercard, one 4 P.M. show at The Cow Palace and one 8 P.M. show at The MGM Grand Arena. Each will feature two marquee matches and four or so undercard matches The Cow Palace card will be headlined by Jimmy Snuka Vs Don Muraco in a steel cage match and an eight man street fight pitting Gary Hart's stable (Gino Hernandez, One Man Gang, The Big Bossman, and "Dr. D" David Schulz against The Von Erich brothers and Brian Adias. Prominent undercard matches include; The Blonde Bombers Vs Mr. Wrestling I and II and The Nasty Boys Vs The Headshrinkers The MGM Grand Arena card will be main-evented by the "Battle of The Nature Boys" between Ric Flair and Buddy Rogers with Nick Bockwinkel Vs "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan as the semi main-event. "Superstar" Billy Graham Vs Gorilla Monsoon and Strike Force Vs The Heavenly Bodies will be big undercard matches. I'll also be booking a few TV shows leading up to the big events. -
Eh, I don't know. Fred Willard guest starred on Saved By The Bell: The New Class. I really like the guy but it's not like he's super selective. Neither is Crispin Glover, who primarily seems concerned with financing his avant garde movies starring the mentally handicapped.

I just read an article somewhere about how much of a ripoff these movies are. Not only because of how crappy they are but apparently they're only about an hour long with 10-15 minutes of outakes tacked on over the end credits. And where's Exslade to defend Friedberg/Seltzer?
-
ZZ Top is a good twenty five years past their prime but they really are a good catch by WWE standards.
-
Well there was My Big Fat Independent Movie but given it's relative obscurity, it wouldn't be completely unreasonable for Friedberg and Seltzer to take on indie movies at some point *shudders*.
-
Two of the greatest musical trainwrecks. One's pretty good, the other not so much. As to which is which, you'll have to figure out yourself.
-
Well at least if they did that, they'd be parodying movies that nobody really likes.

All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft
King Kamala replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in Draft Faggotry
Am I too late to make Scramble Picks? Sorry for my lack of interest in the topic over the past week or so. Settling in to new surroundings and what have you. Anyways here they are; Mr. Wrestling Teaming him up with Mr. Wrestling II Porkchop Cash I'll be using him as one of Flair's bodyguards alongside The Warlord and a badass midcard heel. Him and The Warlord will also tag on an occassional basis. Lash LeRoux To fill out my junior heavyweight division. A good slightly goofy but lovable lower mid card/curtain jerker babyface. Kwee Wee See Lash's entry except replace babyface with heel. S.D. Jones Basically my promotion's lovable babyface jobber. Also will pick up a win here and there. -
Wow...that's even worse than I expected. Like I said last week the small fanbases of Drake and Chicken Little are mostly in elementary or middle school---why would they think they would make any money doing an R rated movie with those two?

All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft
King Kamala replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in Draft Faggotry
Sorry folks- due to a rather unexpected circumstance I haven't had internet access since Sunday Evening and won't have it regularly until Saturday afternoon. I'm currently writing this post from a Best Western hotel lobby in Burlington, Vermont. Anyways I do have enough time to make my scavenger pick, which will be... "Dr. D" David Schulz. -
The ads touting College as the teen comedy of the '00s are quite ludicrous. Don't they know that the teen comedy of the '00s was released last summer? The movie has got bomb written all over it. Nobody wants to see a raunchy teen comedy with Chicken Little and Drake Bell.

My somewhat educated guess is they started showing more matches from the syndicated tapings when they started phasing out televised house shows (They stopped airing Boston Garden and Spectrum shows in '89 and MSG would follow in '92).
