    Fuck You Bennigan's You're Dead

Or the fact that there are about 3,000 more Wendy's than there are Carl's Jr/Hardees. It's not really about quality KOAB. But let's not get facts in the way of ribaldry.

The Magic Is In The Hole!

Proof of idiots being obsessed with Dunkin Donuts Well to play Devil's Advocate for my fellow New Englanders, Dunkin' Donuts somehow haven't really made their way to the West Coast and only started expanding down south within the past year or two. They are adding thousands and thousands of more stores but I guess those dopes missing having one on every corner here. They opened up a couple of Krispy Kreme places in the Boston area about five years ago and they all closed within a year or two. Stupid Massholes. I haven't seen so many people obsessed over a mediocre fast food chain as I have with Dunkin' Donuts. I'm an idiot who talks about fast food a bit too much but these people take the obsession way too far. Another thing about Dunkin Donuts, every time I eat there, I manage to get heart burn for some reason. It doesn't matter what I eat. I get it. That's why I pretty much stick to the hot chocolate on the rare occasion I do go there.

    Pineapple Express

Like any filmmaker, it'll probably be when he directs a few shitty movies. Sure, he's produced and/or wrote some that weren't so hot (Drillbit Taylor, Walk Hard, Step Brothers, You Don't Mess With The Zohan) but even some of those aren't entirely devoid of merit and he can just blame someone else for fucking it up. I've been an Apatow fan since Freaks and Geeks and even kind of like Drillbit Taylor and Walk Hard. They may not be perfect (I think a lot of his movies are a bit too long) but I think even Czech would take them over 90% of the comedies that the big studios are currently pumping out.

The Magic Is In The Hole!

Krispy Kreme is a bit overrated but in no way are they worse than Dunkin fuckin' Donuts. Dunkin Donuts are a step above Hostess donuts. I mean when my grease trap needs filling every couple months, I'll get a Chocolate Creme Donut there but if I had the choice I wouldn't pick it over Krispy Kreme (the nearest KK is 4-5 hours away). I just don't get it when displaced New Englanders wax nostalgiac for Dunkin' Donuts. Is the donut situation that bad for the rest of the country that people are jonesing for the Pizza Hut of Donuts? The draw to Dunkin Donuts for me in the past few years has been the hot chocolate. Especially the Milky Way kind. Fantastic stuff.

I'm glad to see that I'm in good company RE: "Burnin' For You". That's always been my favorite BOC song. The song almost sounds like power pop. Embarrassingly enough, I think the first time I heard it was in Joe Dirt.

    The Dark Knight

Maybe they were disappointed that the movie wasn't more like Darren Aronofsky's unpublished screenplay where Bruce Wayne was homeless and Alfred was an overweight African American mechanic named Big Al.

That's not really being a hipster. That's just being a contrarian. Anarchist punk bands automatically go against the mainstream but I'd never consider them hipsters!

Oh that's right. I was confusing that with his promo during his forgettable feud with Davey Boy Smith where he said something to the effect of "Don't just sit there drinking coffee while a man's talking to you!"

I'm not sure I would have heard of M.I.A. before the Pineapple Express trailer myself if I hadn't worked at a college radio station this past school year. "Paper Planes" was one of the few songs of our required playlist that I could tolerate.

    Roundtables are serious business, brutha.

    WWE Folder sucks dick

About the Great American Bash roundtable, my aunt was visiting that week so I was busy on the night we usually did them. I told the rest of the usual suspects that I'd be glad if they did one without me or we could do one on another night and I didn't get a response from anybody but HTQ. We'll probably do one for SummerSlam but I'm not going to have cable while I'm up at college so I don't think I'll be able to do them for a while after that.

    WWE Folder sucks dick

People got apathetic about the board's revival almost immedietely after you and Dandy left. I'd start some Town Halls but I haven't watched WWE in months. I've suggested a few people for Q&As but the suggestions mostly fell on deaf ears. I might take some initiative though and see if Lanny Poffo wants to do the Q&A. Apparently, he personally answers all of his e-mails. From watching his RF Shoot, I think he'd make for a fun Q&A subject.

    Armchair Bookers:What if...

No, feel free to start another "What Might Have Been" thread. And I agree with cabbage- I think The Radicalz ECW run would have been pretty short. Just long enough for Benoit and Guerrero to put over RVD and Malenko and Saturn to put over The Impact Players.

    Guys on the way out

I think Jericho's last in-ring appearence in WCW was jobbing to Scott Steiner in the first round of the U.S. title tournament on the Spring Break Nitro in March '99. They did briefly show him at the WCW.com booth at Great American Bash '99. Has Steve McMichael's last appearance with WCW been mentioned? That was a really odd way to go out. IIRC, he got coffee thrown in his face by Hollywood Hogan and then never showed up again.

I didn't think DarKnight could be worse than his brother but he is. At least cabbage can be amusingly bad at times, DarKnight is just a doofus.
  16. Bad Boys 3 would be on those of movies nobody really wants to see but ends up making $50-60 million opening weekend anyways.

Hey---look the contrarian for the sake of being contrarian backlash has already started! What well reasoned arguments put forth in this Facebook group.

    All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

I'd happily swap Kerry Von Erich for one or both of The Brainbusters. I love my roster though but I'd love to have The Horsemen in some shape or form.

    Carl's Jr. & Hardee's

Me and Nighthawk talked about this a couple months ago. It seems like the smaller the town, the better the fast food. Some of the employees there take pride in it for some reason. On the other hand, I can't eat fast food in big cities. Especially after I got a bad case of the shits after eating at the Burger King across the street from Boston commons. I haven't noticed them being that much more expensive (Though I don't notice that type of shit when I'm ordering fast food) but they're usually a lot dirtier and the food is crappier. And a lot of the patrons (and usually some of the employees) are sketchy as hell, even during the daytime.

We Have Us An Iron Man

I figured they'd eventually get Favreau and Downey but the thing I'm shocked about is its being released in April. Granted, it's at the tail end of the month but it seems like Summer Movie Season gets longer and longer every year with big movies coming out earlier and earlier in May (and now into April) and more prominent movies coming out in August.. I don't know if I'm just remembering my shit wrong but it seemed like back in the day Summer Movie Season was mid-May to mid to late July. Now it starts in the last friggin Friday in April and doesn't end till Labor Day.

    The Concert Thread

Saw Gnarls Barkley with Hercules and A Love Affair opening tonight. Great show, probably one of the better ones I've seen this year. Though Cee-Lo seemed a bit pissed towards the end for some reason. But yeah both bands were fucking tight.

2008 movies to open with a PSA under $1,000

Oooh OK. Here are three that I can think of off the top of my head. The Big White: The aforementioned Robin Williams movie. Also starring Holly Hunter, Woody Harrelson, and Giovanni Ribisi. From what I've heard, it's a massive Fargo ripoff. Williams plays an Alaskan travel agent in financial trouble who tries to cash in on a one million dollar insurance claim on his brother (Harrelson), who's been missing for five years. He finds a body on the side of the road and tries to pretend it's his brother but surprise! He's still alive and shenanigans ensue! The reviews for it were mostly bad but I remember Leonard Maltin really liked it for some reason and talked about it on Secret's Out The Alibi: Released on DVD as Lies and Alibis. Was supposed to be Steve Coogan's breakthrough as a leading man in the U.S. It didn't quite work. He plays a man who runs an alibi service for adulterous husbands who gets into a jam when the son of his most powerful clients murders his mistress. Somewhere along the line, Sam Elliot shows up as a Mormon hitman and John Leguizamo plays the jealous ex boyfriend of the mistress. I've actually seen this one. There are a few scenes but it's really too convoluted for its own good. Havoc: Awful, awful movie where Anne Hathaway delves into the gangster culture of L.A. She gets topless but that's about the only good part. Also stars Bijou Philips, Joseph Gordon Leavitt, Freddy Rodreiguez, Channing Tatum, and Michael Biehn. Was written by the guy who wrote Traffic For some reason, it inspired a completely unrelated sequel with Amber Tamblyn.

    The Dark Knight

Ah makes perfect sense. But it still doesn't explain why Tropic Thunder is opening on a Wednesday.

    The Dark Knight

For some reason, I think Stiller is headed in the Eddie Murphy direction and will be doing more family movies in the next few years. This is purely speculation but let's face, it happenes to most comedic actors when they get older (Look at Steve Martin, Robin Williams, even Richard Pryor). I'd love to see Stiller work with Judd Apatow again. The interest in me for Tropic Thunder is the cast. That is one of the most loaded casts to come along in a while. Stiller, Robert Downey Jr, Jack Black, Nick Nolte, Steve motherfuckin' Coogan, Bill Hader, Jay Baruchel. On paper, that's probably my second favorite cast of the summer behind The Dark Knight. Edit: Whoa! This is the Dark Knight thread. Just to veer it back on course. I find it weird that Pineapple Express and Tropic Thunder are both Wednesday releases. It doesn't really make sense. It seems like Wednesday releases are usually before holidays or are superhuge releases. It almost seems like the studios don't want to beat The Dark Knight. Nevertheless, I think if Pineapple Express doesn't do it next week then Tropic Thunder will.
