I got shot with a potato gun in the inner thigh when I was in 6th or 7th grade by some random teenagers driving by when I was walking home from school. I have a feeling they were aiming for another nearby body part and to this day, I'm grateful that they missed their target.

The Beach Boys- "Marcella" The Beach Boys attempt at country rock. Definitely a slightly jarring listen- no matter how hard they try, it still kind of sounds like The Beach Boys and it sounds odd to hear them vaguely rootsy sounding. I really like it though for some reason I can't quite articulate. Maybe it's the fact I kind of enjoy good songs from lesser albums of iconic bands. Maybe it's because the song was named after a prostitute Brian Wilson visited. I've been meaning to get into The Beach Boys post-Brian Wilson, early 70s material for quite a while now. The combination of rootsy, country rock and the Beach Boys harmonies is intriguing. I shall download the Carl and The Passions---So Tough/Holland 2 on 1 CD collection on Ruckus after I'm done with this post.

On the other hand, he could be a Jake Roberts/Keith Richards type that just can't be killed.

Jon Lovitz was on Comics Unleashed With Byron Allen last night. It was kind of depressing. I don't expect Lovitz to be some kind of huge box office star but you'd think he'd be getting cool character parts but he isn't even getting that. Has anybody else seen Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen? I wish I could say I haven't.

Even though he wasn't a great worker (or even marginal) in his last years, Andre was always a smart worker. I haven't seen the matches in years and years but for some reason, I remember his series with Jim Duggan was surprisingly watchable.

I lament the loss of the seafood salad. There's still one Subway near my camp which had it the last time I visited it but that was eight months ago or so. I hadn't seen it in years before that. In its place Tuna on Honey Oat with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, jalapenos, and a little bit of olive oil. Makes my breath stink on ice but its deliciousness makes it worth it.

It's odd, I'm the same as you LOTC with shrimp. But when I was a kid, I wouldn't touch cooked shrimp but could tolerate cold shrimp. I'll still eat cold shrimp but it's on the lowest tier of seafood, just slightly above Long John Silver's and sardines. -

If you're looking for crap, Jingus, Bash At The Beach 2000 is way better. Besides the obvious Russo/Hogan debacle, The KISS Demon Vs Vampiro in a graveyard match, your girl Daffney Vs Ms. Hancock in a wedding gown match, Goldberg Vs Kevin Nash with Scott Hall's contract on the line, and Ralphus(!!!) So, which one do you guys want? Bash At The Beach 2000 or Fall Brawl 2000? Either one's fine by me. -

*DOUBLE POST* Speaking of WrestleCrap, I just saw that somebody posted Bash At The Beach 2000 in its entirety on Daily Motion. -

Yeah but Fall Brawl 2000 is on Daily Motion. I think Fall Brawl is an ideal show for this type of thing. It's got enough good stuff on it so we won't completely waste two and a half hours but enough WrestleCrap so we can make plenty of wisecracks. -

I can't do it tomorrow night since I'm doing real life stuff but I might be available Thursday. I think a month is too long. It just sounded catchier than Tape of Every Other Week. Biweekly would be ideal. -
Dude's probably just a huge film snob. I don't like them myself but I'd gladly take a snob over a shill.

To be fair- when was the last time he's done one? *checks IMDb* I Spy and Showtime were his last two. I admit those two were sort of duds but it's been six years since he's done one. That's a long time in Hollywood. I think an R rated Eddie comedy could be huge. He still has "it" somewhere buried inside him.

You know I don't agree with the guy's views on Iron Man (Haven't seen Hancock...or The Dark Knight obviously) but aren't film critics hired to...you know...have an opinion?

Shatner was in Showtime right? I vaguely recally my dad really liking it. Boy, financial success or not, Eddie Murphy sure has had his share of incredibly forgettable movies over the years.

The Things That Anger You Thread.

The one vegan I knew well was a pretty chill dude. We sat next to each other during first block cafeteria study hall during my junior year of high school. We mostly discussed the current Mark Trail storyline and told a lot of inside jokes (Usually involving the cafeteria staff inadvertantly putting live hagfish into the day's lunch and the ensuing pandemonium). As you can tell, I was very cool in high school but that's neither here nor there. -

That second comment MVP made doesn't even make sense. Was it supposed to be insult? -
I didn't know a thing about that movie until a thread on another board mentioned it last weekend. The plot doesn't sound like it would make for a good five minute sketch let alone a ninety minute movie. Hell, I can't even remember the sketch it was based on. It's another stop on Cuba Gooding Jr's train ride to obscurity.

WWE 24/7 Classics OnDemand General Discussion

The non-spoiler (for Venk) card for In Your House IV We get (in order) Hunter Hearst Helmsley Vs Fatu The Smokin' Gunns Vs The 123 Kid and Razor Ramon for the WWF Tag Team titles Goldust Vs Marty Jannetty Yokozuna Vs King Mabel Dean Douglas Vs Razor Ramon for The WWF Intercontinental title The British Bulldog Vs Diesel for the WWF World title Yep, not a very good show at all. I don't remember it (haven't seen the show in ten years) but the tag team title match might not be bad... -

WWE 24/7 Classics OnDemand General Discussion

In case you're curious, these are the match listings for the two Coliseum tapes being shown next month courtesy of The History of WWE website... World Tour 92 (8/27/92) This is one of the few Coliseum Videos from the early 90s that I haven't seen (perhaps I've blocked out of my memory). The only matches that don't sound horrible are Bret/Martel and Macho Man/HBK (and I've heard from various sources that the latter is a huge let down). The tape with the cool Texas Tornado/Ric Flair match I was mentioning earlier was the very similar titled Wrestling World Tour. World Tour 96 (1997) This tape is boring as hell but at the same time, mildly interesting. I don't remember that half of the matches featured Ahmed Johnson. I guess that speaks for the quality of the tape. The October '95 In Your House...that's the one with Diesel Vs The British Bulldog main eventing, right? Good lord, that show is almost as bad as King of The Ring '95. In fact, pretty much the only reasons that it isn't is it's two hours instead of three and there's slightly less King Mabel. The discussion thread for that one on here should be interesting. Edit: Fixed for anyone who didn't want to be spoiled like poor Venk was. Didn't know anybody would be so touchy about fifteen year old Coliseum Video results. -

I thought 911's name in WCW was Tombstone. Early '00 WCW did produce a few more decent matches than The Observer gave credit for. Note the emphasis on a few.But again none were more than **1/2-***. While it paled in comparison to the battles they had in their heydays, I remember The Terry Funk-Ric Flair Texas Death Match at SuperBrawl X was decent. The stretcher match between The Mamalukes and David Flair there was pretty fun. I haven't seen it since I first watched the PPV eight years ago but I thought Fit Finlay Vs Vampiro at Uncensored 2000 was one of Vampiro's better matches and the MOTN (Not saying much really). There was also the occassional decent TV match, usually on Saturday Night. Three Count and The Jung Dragons started their series. I remember a decent TAFKAPI-Mike Modest match on the Spring Break Nitro back when TAFKAPI had the title and Modest upset him (it was non title obviously). Of course, it being WCW, the next new Nitro was Vince Russo and Bischoff's return and we didn't see Mike Modest again until early '01 when he and Christopher Daniels were getting pummeled by Scott Steiner. Again, all small beans. And I'm not sure if there's another three month period in professional wrestling history where a major federation doesn't have a match that isn't more than ***. Except maybe the last year or so of AWA and by then, they weren't major league by any stretch of the imagination. -

Wikipedia says Big Al was Al Green but I know for a fact that isn't true. Big Al was a lot younger and was way taller than the future Dog. For some reason, I could have sworn Big Al was in ECW for a little while under a name before his inauspicious WCW run.
