Aw man, I love that album. Maybe my #1 guilty pleasure. Of the 5 decent non original lineup KISS songs, three of them are songs from that album. And that new Journey singer sounds almost disturbingly like Steve Perry- right down to the stage patter. Didn't they find this guy on MySpace? Or am I confusing him with the new singer of Boston?

The majority of non original lineup Kiss is terrible, save for a song or two. I will say that Revenge is actually a solid album, mostly because it doesn't sound like a Kiss album. I'm probably the biggest (only?) KISS fan on this board behind Paul Stanley (the poster- whatever happened to him anyways) and that Ecuadorian guy. And even I will admit that there's only about 5 decent songs in the non original lineup canon. I like AC/DC alright but I think I'd like them better if my mom didn't like them so much. For some reason, I don't care about having the same musical taste as my dad but my mom is a whole other story.

I was going to start a townhall type thread but I'm feeling too lazy to come up with questions. So let's talk about The King of The Ring tournament, your favorite moments, your least favorite moments. Personally, having seen all of the King of The Ring PPVs, my favorite tournament is still the first. You had Bret Hart having ***+ matches in one night and almost every guy in the tournament (except Duggan and maybe Mr. Hughes) had a conceivable shot at winning the whole thing. '94 would be a close second. To be perfectly honest, I thought after the first two, the tournaments kind of sucked for the most part. It's like it came the afterthought to its own card. Just for a whim, I'll rank the PPV tournaments (I don't think very many, even on the IWC, have seen the old one-night house show King of The Rings though I know there's a fan cam of at least of one of them). 1. 1993 2. 1994 3. 1996 4. 2001 5. 1997 6. 2000 7. 2002 8. 1998 9. 1999 10. 1995 #4-8 are really interchangable. It's obvious what the top two are and bottom two are but after that it gets muddled.

I kind of like KOTR '98 too but I'll be damned if I can remember anything about the tournament itself. Well except Triple saying "I'm bi a lot of things but lingual is not one of them" while guest commentating during the finals.

I think Ken Shamrock is the one KOTR winner where the KOTR win had absolutely no effect-positive or negative on his wrestling career. He was a midcarder before winning it and he was a mid-carder after.

IIRC, Prom Night 2008 isn't even supposed to be a remake of the original. Just a vaguely similar movie with the same title. I could be completely wrong though.

1. How much of the tournament should be shown on the PPV? Quarterfinals on? Semi-finals on? Ideally, I'd show the quarterfinals, semis and finals but that format really only worked in '93 and '94. Every other year, it felt rushed. But yeah, if I had to pick to I'd say from the quarterfinals on. 2. Since the last KOTR PPV in 2002, do you think the WWE has been better at building young superstars? Worse? Eh, probably a bit better but I'm not sure if it has much at all to do with the KOTR. The King of The Ring only really built one guy every year. How many 2nd place KOTR guys can you remember? 3. If Steve Austin hadn't won the '96 King of The Ring, how would it have effected his career? What if Triple H hadn't won in '97?Austin wouldn't have had that definitive promo. But I think he was too charismatic to be a midcarder for the rest of his WWF stint and was already sort of on his way so it didn't effect him all that much. KOTR rescued Helmsley from the doldrums of the midcard but who else were they going to give it to that year? I think his ensuing feud with Mankind did more for him than the KOTR win over Mankind itself. 4. What are some of your favorite King of The Ring memories? Like I mentioned Bret Hart's three matches at the first PPV. The pre-match promo with Bret Hart and Mr. Perfect at the same PPV. Owen Hart Vs 123 Kid at KOTR '94. Austin's post match promo after winning the tournament. The retarded kid falling over the barricade during HBK/Austin at KOTR '97 (sorry, I'm going to hell). 5. Least favorite? The entire 1995 and 1999 PPVs.

Daryl Hall is doing a free show this summer at L.L. Bean Park. While I won't be able to achieve my dream of seeing Hall and Oates live, Hall is the one I want to see if I have to pick between the two.

He does a show at City Hall in Portland every year and I think he charges around $75-80 but I think his ticket prices must vary on the venue cause he played a 10,000 seat outdoor venue normally reserved for concerts and only charged $50-60. I don't see the appeal of seeing stand-up in a huge place like that though.

The Undertaker beat John Cena at Vengeance '03. Granted, it's not the huge mega match it would be now but it was the #2 attraction on that card.

Sweet- Fox On The Run In a half awake slumber, I could have swore I heard them play a snippet of the intro of this song on The Today Show as background music for one of the segments this morning. It was bizarre to say the least. I guess one of the producers at Today is a big fan of second tier glam rock.

The more I think about it, I think "Leave Me Alone" is my favorite Michael Jackson music video. It's got everything you could want from a Michael Jackson video; an appearence by Bubbles, dogs in suits, Michael dancing with The Elephant Man's skeleton, and giant Michael destroying an amusement park. Any one of those elements would make a music video awesome but all together? Man oh man, I love that video.

I'm not going to let this thread go by without a mention of The Raspberries. Great classic power-pop band. Even if their ballads kind of suck.

Yeah...Droese was gone for a good year or so by the time Chyna arrived and was gone for about three years by the time Chyna had that Good Housekeeping match with Jeff Jarrett. I would admonish you for drinking and posting but I'm posting about Duke Droese sober so...

OK- this is completely off-topic but since we're on the topic of Duke "The Dumpster" Droese, I'll ask this question. Am I crazy or did Droese leave the WWF after losing a Loser Leaves Town "Good Housekeeping" (plunder match basically) to T.L. Hopper on Superstars? I swear that match happened but nobody else seems to remember it

How is 6 to 8 months not new? I guess you're sort of right by 1996 standards. But 6 to 8 months isn't really new by current standards. This is a stupid argument so I'm going stop right now. But yeah Duke Droese was getting a lot of wins (relatively speaking) in that time period and he even beat Helmsley at The Royal Rumble Free For All. Actually, it's kind of ridiculous we're having a Duke Droese conversation in the first place. Only in a Wrestler Court thread...

I call bullshit only because by the time that Droese-Triple H match happened where Droese got his head shaved, Helmsley had been in the company for like 6 to 8 months and thus wasn't new.

Oh I forgot to mention that after seeing Fountains of Wayne last August, I got a T-shirt signed by them. Pretty stupid in retrospect cause now I can't wear that shirt and as much as I like them, it's not like it's ever going to sell for huge bucks if I ever get deep into debt and decide to sell it. $20 down the drain. And I don't have any cool meeting band stories like SmartlyPretty. The student body president in my sophomore and junior year's band opened up for Hawthorne Heights. That's not really worth bragging about though.
