I think the next MK game should be a prequel. I mean, the MK tournament is supposed to have been around for hundreds of years, right? On another MK note, Shinnok is a fucking terrible boss. Quan Chi should have been the last guy in MK4. At least he looked the part. Shinnok looked like a fuckin' tool. Even though neither of them were very impressive. And Goro wasn't even in the arcade version, was he? Lame.

Incandenza, what is your take on white people saying "nigger".

I enjoyed Jericho's first WWF match with Rock in October '99. Perhaps it wouldn't hold up today, but I was a huge Y2J fan at the time and I was very voiciferously supporting him in that match. And that's drama! When you can actually get behind someone and want a certain outcome for the match, that's when wrestling is a success. P.S. Thread starter, are you the guy on Youtube on whom Kent Jones dropped the n-bomb?

I haven't drank apple juice since May, when I had to go the hospital because my stomach was hurting. They made me drink some sort of fluid mixed with apple juice which would allow them to do an X-ray of my stomach, and which was pretty much the most disgusting thing I have ever drank. Then I drove to New York to see Guns N' Roses and got lost in a black neighborhood. It was scary, but I'm not racist! I just get scared when I'm lost! But I haven't taken a chance on apple juice since then, because I fear that just the smell might cause me to vomit.

Booker was in WCW before him too.

You know, I was just thinking about Eternal Champions (which I thought was a really good game, despite the large amount of sentiment online that says it sucked) and something occured to me. They advertised the game by making fun of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat (with lines like "Hey, Johnny Cage, are you afraid you'll get your BUTT kicked by a girl?"), which certainly wasn't uncommon in those days. But Sega actually created and published Eternal Champions themselves. And MK and SFII:CE were both available for Genesis. So Sega, despite having a financial interest in the success of those games, made fun of them in their ads. Sega was fucking dumb.

Eddie got released because he got arrested for DUI almost immediately after being put back on the road after his stint in rehab.

I wish Anglesault was still here to comment on this news.

I just got the new Observer. I'm sure HTQ will have detailed notes up soon, but this one can't wait. Apparently Vince has demanded that the word "belt" not be used on WWE, OVW, and DSW television, because it's too "old-time wrestling" for him. That was the same reason why Ken Anderson was changed to Ken Kennedy, because "Anderson" is too "old-school".

Well damn, that's actually a good lineup.

Nintendo confirmed a Mario Strikers sequel and Battalion Wars 2 today for Wii. Given that Battalion Wars was a spectacular bomb in sales, I don't really know why they're doing this, but hey, I guess it works for some people.

There hasn't been a new deal signed with Sci-Fi for ECW but there is expected to be. Vince wants a raise in rights fees but NBC Universal turned down that request. NBC wants the mobile phone rights the the shows but Vince ain't biting on that one either. WWE pulled the Taker-Khali match from Summerslam because it was gonna suck, but you all already knew that. Some people within WWE were against the decision since they had already advertised the match for the Bash PPV the month before and then not delivered, but ultimately, the match was cancelled. Mysterio will be taking time off after his feud with Chavo is done to get knee surgery. He'll probably be out at least six months. Angle is losing a lot of respect backstage as he frequently tries to change plans for himself and others. The 12/3 ECW PPV will be held in Augusta, GA. Dave calls the Rey/Chavo/Vickie stuff from Smackdown on 8/11 "beyond fucked up". He also says that JT reading her poem in the Diva Search talent show reminded him of a "stoned skank stripper". That man can be so brutal sometimes......... WWE was going to bring in James Beard as a ref, but then he made a long post about his WWE tryout on the wrestlingclassics.com message board. So now they don't want him anymore. Dave thinks Francine will be gone from ECW soon because Vince apparently doesn't think she's good-looking enough. Some people in WWE want to bring back Rikishi and Brian Christopher to reform Too Cool, and to bring in Ron Killings to be a member of the group. CourtTV will be airing Ric and Beth Flair's alimony hearings in November.

Yes. He had his entire storyline ended in a nice package. Foley can look back and know he wrote another great storyline that didn't insult the fan's intelligence, made sense and had the logical points. Why don't those morons pay attention to Foley, I'll never get. The storyline was a fucking abortion. I'm sorry the story required understanding of depth and the ability to figure things out yourself but that's what quality writers (as far as pro wrestling writing goes) do. It was precise and detailed, which probably threw you off to begin with. Melina's involvment was neccesary because it represented alot of things in Mick Foley's character change. That was the FIRST step in the entire angle with Flair. Foley put over the changes that occured after the hardcore match at WM. He built his friendship with Melina over dating back months ago via his blog and then again on the air in his promos. Melina was always a presence in the story. Melina, represented something Foley never had before. It was never about sex or looks or anything like that, it was Foley's complete humanity for someone. All of this built to the fact that Foley is the eternal loser who will always be hurt at the end of it. The Flair involvement was designed around it and that part was delivered with success save for Flair's reduction in his promos thanks to the idiots in charge. The whole angle was simple, direct and logical. It wasn't over the top and it made sense. That is a lot more then you can get from anything else in the WWE. BTW, the morons I'm refering to are the writers in the back who could learn something from Foley. You don't have to like it, that's fine but don't call it an abortion when the storyline delivered on its purpose. The storyline did have a few flaws but as a whole it was better developed then pretty much any other storyline they have done in the past year. While they are trying to incorporate gags from movies for DX and to bury a dead man via his wife, they could stand to ask Foley "How you write something that makes sense?". I didn't read your piece of shit post and I hope nobody else does either. It was a horrible storyline and I suspect that you're a homosexual or a virgin for liking it Thank you for my new sig.

Actually, they're doing Blu-Ray because it's their own proprietary format and they think putting it in the PS3 will help it to become the next-gen DVD standard.
