    Vince McMahon Interview

And by an "automotive", I think he means he wants car companies to advertise on WWE programs.

I would guess he means when the first WWE movie is released.

Who needs a multitude of viewpoints at college? That's what I have TSM for.........

    The Nintendo Revolution controller

Konami made a game like that for PS2, and by all accounts it sucks.

That song quoted in the fourth post is by Bang Tango. Since when do goths like hair metal?

Florida Bill Would Allow Students To Sue Teachers

In my four semesters of college so far, I think pretty much every one of my professors have been liberal. Some of them are VERY liberal (my public relations professor had us watch TV Nation in class a few weeks back) while some just make passing references to being anti-war. I think I've only had one professor who may have been conservative, and he was an economics professor. It's great.

    Jarrett meeting with Viacom

I think you mean USA. I remember watching Raven's last appearance on ECW on TNN when Cyrus came out and announced that "the Network" had cancelled the show and all the fans started chanting "U-S-A! U-S-A!" It was so sad because I knew there was no chance in hell that was happening.
  9. Are you sure? I got the feeling he was talking about Scott Hall. I don't think WWF would have been very happy with Jarrett referring to a guy who was currently working for them like that.

The latest twist in the Schiavo case.......

I'd like to say Mike is wrong about people taking pleasure in Terri's death, but then I saw this.
  11. ^That's right, he thought it would be the Hogan/Andre of 2000. Frok what I've read, WWF also briefly considered Rikishi/HHH for WM2000, after Rikishi got incredibly over in early 2000.

How hyped are yall for WM21?

I'm sure it won't be a bad show, but it definitely doesn't have much compared to last year. Batista-HHH: This match probably won't be very good and if Batista wins, so what? He's not that interesting and I can't say I'm particularly looking forward to any title defenses by him. The HHH feud is kind of interesting because of the over 2 years of backstory with them, but the writers have made the feud very underwhelming in the past few weeks. What intrigue is there seeing him feud with anyone else? Cena-JBL: This feud hasn't been too bad, and I think they've done a pretty good job of building it up. It probably won't be that good, but I'm looking forward to this one more than Batista/HHH. I wouldn't mind seeing Cena as champion. Sure, his matches aren't that good but neither are JBL's. If Cena wins, they should definitely move him to Raw (and move the World champ to Smackdown) because there's only one top heel on Smackdown for him to feud with besides JBL (Angle), although since I've read that WWE is planning a Cena/Angle main event for Judgment Day, it looks like he won't be moving. Michaels-Angle: This has the potential to be a great match, and I've enjoyed the buildup, but I wouldn't exactly consider it a "dream match". I suspect Michaels will win, since neither guy really gains or loses anything from this match and they'll want to balance it out since Undertaker is definitely beating Orton. Undertaker-Orton: I can't stand Orton. You can just tell by looking at him that he's a total douche and the reports of his backstage behavior corroborate this. Since it looks like he'll be out after WM recovering from an injury, it looks sure that UT will win, not that there was much doubt anyway. Guerrero-Mysterio: This will be good, but not as good as their WCW matches. As of now, the match really has no intrigue behind it but I'm hoping they'll do an angle on Smackdown that can make people care about this match. Ladder Match: This is a match that could go either way. You have to keep in mind that none of the guys in the match are really "spot" wrestlers, so while guys like Christian and Benjamin seem capable of taking big bumps, it's not like they're Jeff Hardy or Rey Mysterio. So it'll probably be a "lite" version of the TLC spotfests of years past. I bet ol' Scooter Keith gives it *****. Trish-Christy: Ugh. It'll be short, but please let Trish win. Big Show-Akebono: I really have no idea what to expect from this. I assume WWE wouldn't bring this guy in if the goal wasn't to but Show over, but is Akebono willing to job in a fake fight? I mean, this guy is a yokozuna - he obviously has a reputation in Japan and he isn't going to want to throw it away just for a chance to be on Wrestlemania, is he? Definitely not "supercard" material. I'm surprised by all the wrestlers not on the card - last year they had a bunch of huge matches and they still managed to fit almost everyone in.

Early Album of the Year Candidates?

Pitchfork gave Frances the Mute a bad review. I don't know if that should have surprised me, but it did.
  14. I was just wondering, was Jim Duggan's appearance at Fall Brawl '94 his WCW debut? If so, had they announced he was coming, done vignettes or anything, or was it just a total surprise?

    the DVD MB Sleaze Thread.

Here's one that I read on there: "276. Atsushi Onita went to Puerto Rico to do an angle there that was intended to draw out Invader, the killer of Bruiser Brody. Onita intended to get Invader to go to Japan and have him killed by the Yakuza in revenge for murdering brody. Invader either found out or the angle fell thru, as it never happened." I thought the story was that they did an angle where Onita would supposedly be attacked by Invader and he would be seen lying in a pool of blood, implying that Invader tried to do to Onita what he did to Brody. That would set up a match between them in Japan, where Brody was loved, but fans were so offended by the angle that it never happened. I never heard about the real-life side of this angle. Anyone know anything else about this?

^Me too, except the crying part. You know, Rolling Stone would have all of us believe that Conor Oberst is the next Dylan. I've heard some of his stuff and I honestly don't see what the big deal is. Anyone??

I believe the correct saying is "Tip drill the bitch, yo".
  18. You missed his Clash June '92 match teaming with Wellington against Pillman and Liger. I haven't seen it, since my brother taped over or got rid of that show long ago, but it's supposed to be really good.
  19. On that Raw, they just showed Mr. T sitting in the audience and Lawler made a joke about him being Booker T's dad. Nothing else.

The latest twist in the Schiavo case.......

That's not to say that liberals wouldn't be complaining if the Bush administration had done what was done in Waco, but to me it seems like a lot of the "outrage" on the part of conservatives over the deaths of Koresh's followers was all acting on their part to try to mobilize the anti-Clinton folks.

  24. I always loved Spring Break Nitro. It was nice to get a different atmosphere once in a while. I'd like to see WWE do something like that, although I know it wouldn't be practical at all to actually do it. I liked how every year, somebody always went into the water. My favorite was in '99, when I waited all night hoping someone would go into the pool. Right at the end, just as I had given up hope, Rey Mysterio sends Ric Flair into the pool. A markout moment, for sure.
