I just watched Hogan/Warrior from WM6 again and I must say, this match was not very good. Why is it praised so much? Is it just due to the memories fans have of the excitement over the "Ultimate Challenge". To me, I saw that the match was comprised mainly of three things: 1) Stalling 2) Restholds 3) Really weak punching and brawling sequences I also thought the finish looked really lame, because Hogan was sitting up after he missed the legdrop and then he seemed to lie down for the Warrior splash, which connected VERY softly but still put Hogan down for three. I think they could have come up with a better finish than that. So why do people like it? I know it had the huge crowd and "big match atmosphere", but that doesn't make a match great, in my opinion. Sure the match had a lot of drama, but that only really works when you're seeing it as it happens, and already knowing that Warrior wins really takes a lot of the "drama" out of it.

Here's my question: How did the kids find out that the brownies had semen on them?

Does sitcoms still/really have studio audiences?

I always thought it was dumb when they cheered for the characters on Married....with Children. It's not like they didn't introduce the actors on the show before the taping. The worst was Unhappily Ever After, where they would cheer every time an actor came on screen. That was just ridiculous. -
Until people that like watching actual wrestling find out what TNA offers. Namely, not usually all that good wrestling. -=Mike Wow, just like WWE!

I hope this doesn't just end up being "Ocarina of Time Part 2" (as it seems that nearly every enemy or environment in this new trailer is from that game). Either way, it'll be great.

What do you mean Malenko/Guerrero didn't have crowd heat? Didn't you see the fans politely applaud after every wrestling sequence? Oh wait..you mean the fans did that for EVERY match in ECW? OK, my mistake. Anyway, I think it's funny that WWE is doing the PPV mainly on the strength of the "Rise and Fall of" DVD and yet this one won't even be released on its own on DVD. ECW marks sat on their hands for wrestling. Malenko v Guerrero had so many matches in near total silence (like Japanese crowds --- except ECW crowds didn't pop for ANYTHING) it was almost sad. -=Mike Well, that wasn't their fault. Eddie and Dean went out there, busted their asses, and the crowds were silent because they weren't hitting each other with barbed wire baseball bats. BUT THE FANS LOVED THEM FOR IT! Or so we were made to believe by the tearful going-away party they had when they left. Surely, the people who inhabited the ECW Arena were an odd kind.

I would argue that the Malenko/Guerrero matches that took place in '95 were some of the best matches in the US that year. Certainly the WWF wasn't doing anything great that year, outside of Michaels and Hart, and Benoit, Malenko, and Guerrero's matches in WCW generally weren't as good as their ECW work because they were usually given less time.

Is it just me or does Kash look a bit like Vince Neil in that picture?

Actually I do often wonder how the hell Shane Douglas got PPV clearance, and just how he convinced the PPV companies to broadcast it. Did he? I didn't even think he was trying to get it on PPV.

True. I think liberals should start asking "Why do they hate YOU???"

What, you've never had a semen and jelly sandwhich? I'm very sorry for that.

Well, Terry McAuliffe apparently was all buddy-buddy with Fat Mikey, at least according to the conservatives on this board (I wasn't really paying attention but I'll take their word for it), but then Terry Mac is a huge idiot so I hope despite his former position of power people don't confuse him with all Democrats.

Moore, because Republicans don't NEED to embrace people like Coulter. The Dems went crazy over Moore, despite him repeatedly saying that he doesn't even like the Democratic Party and was only supporting them because he wanted to see Bush lose, which makes it even more pathetic. I also think Republicans' obsession with Moore is pretty sad, however. He's just a big fat man who doesn't like the president. Get the fuck over it.

Didn't they also rehire Neidhart around the time, but never use him?

They talked about this on Bill Maher's show last night. Surprisingly, he was against the ruling. I think it's kind of dumb to say that there's a big difference between a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old. Sure, there's growth emotionally, but I've known as long as I can remember that killing is wrong. Is there really a better chance of rehabilitating a 16-year-old killer than an 18-year-old (Personally, I don't really think you can rehabilitate a killer, but that's beside the point). Not that this country shouldn't respect international opinions, but they should never affect US Supreme Court decisions.

Flair turned on Austin while they were teaming together against the nWo. The next week Flair was seen directing the nWO, saying that he had fired Scott Hall because he couldn't get the job done or something like that. Flair then teamed with the Big Show at Judgment Day, losing to Austin in a handicap match. The next night, Nash returned as nWo leader, so Flair wasn't really needed anymore.

Mr. Belding comes to my college in 3 weeks. Anyone got anything they want me to ask him? -
I always felt that Friday the 13th Part VIII was a bit overrated, especially by Leonard Maltin, who called it the best in the series. I also think Jason Goes to Hell was rather underrated, but you won't find a lot of people who agree with that. But it would be strange seeing a Jason movie get critical acclaim for once.

I don't know if he wrestled there before '98, but here are the matches from his '98-'99 run, according to Cawthon's site: WWF @ Richmond, VA - Coliseum - April 28, 1998 Steve Williams pinned Scorpio with a backdrop driver WWF @ Binghamton, NY - July 14, 1998 Raw is War - 7/20/98: Brawl for All: Steve Williams defeated Pierre WWF @ Anaheim, CA - Arrowhead Pond - July 27, 1998 Raw is War: Brawl for All Semi-Finals: Bart Gunn defeated Steve Williams WWF @ Beaumont, TX - January 12, 1999 Steve Williams defeated Bob Holly PCW @ Reading, PA - February 5, 1999 (training camp) Steve Williams defeated Pierre Oulette ECWA @ Wilmington, DE - February 6, 1999 (training camp) Steve Williams defeated Mideon via disqualification WWF @ San Jose, CA - Arena - March 15, 1999 Sunday Night Heat - 3/21/99: Steve Williams defeated Matt & Jeff Hardy in a handicap match with a powerslam WWF @ East Rutherford, NJ - Continental Airlines Arena - March 29, 1999 Raw is War: WWF Hardcore Champion Hardcore Holly pinned Steve Williams after Al Snow interfered and hit the challenger with a frying pan So we've got two dark matches, two indy "training camp" shows, one squash on Heat, and three Raw matches, one of which is his most embarassing loss. That's a hell of a run for Dr. Death. I swear I had no idea the guy before me was doing the same thing.

That Degrassi episode is going to air in the US.

Here's some small news from the Observer website: "Paul Heyman was brought into the WWE offices regarding the ECW PPV show. Heyman pushed the idea of using people who work for TNA on the show." Well, he's dreaming if he thinks WWE is going to do that.

Well, it turns out that the full article was actually longer than the version JAxl posted. Here are some choice quotes from that one: "With the band's return, Mr. Rose's machinery cranked up again. One internal cost analysis from the period pegs the operation's monthly tab at a staggering $244,000. It included more than $50,000 in studio time at the Village, a more modern studio where Mr. Baker had moved the band. It also included a combined payroll for seven band members that exceeded $62,000, with the star players earning roughly $11,000 each. Guitar technicians earned about $6,000 per month, while the album's main engineer was paid $14,000 per month and a recording software engineer was paid $25,000 a month, the document stated. " "But Mr. Rose's renewed energies were not being directed toward the finish line. He had the crew send him CD's almost daily, sometimes with 16 or more takes of a musician performing his part of a single song. He accompanied Buckethead on a jaunt to Disneyland when the guitarist was drifting toward quitting, several people involved recalled; then Buckethead announced he would be more comfortable working inside a chicken coop, so one was built for him in the studio, from wood planks and chicken wire. " "The band went on a successful tour, but in the hours after their triumphant Madison Square Garden appearance, Mr. Rose was reportedly refused entry to the Manhattan nightclub Spa because he was wearing fur, which the club does not allow. That killed the mood. He didn't show up for the band's next performance, and the promoter canceled the rest of the tour. Months dragged on as the band waited for Mr. Rose to record more vocals. In August 2003 when label executives announced their intention to release a Guns N' Roses greatest-hits CD for the holidays, the band's representatives managed to hold them off with yet another promise to deliver "Chinese Democracy" by the end of the year. But the album, of course, did not materialize. And then the game was over. "HAVING EXCEEDED ALL budgeted and approved recording costs by millions of dollars," the label wrote in a letter dated Feb. 2 , 2004, "it is Mr. Rose's obligation to fund and complete the album, not Geffen's." The tab at Village studio was closed out, and Mr. Rose tried a brief stint recording at the label's in-house studio before that too was ended. The band's computer gear, guitars and keyboards were packed away. Over a legal challenge by Mr. Rose, the label issued a greatest-hits compilation, in search of even a modest return on their eight-figure investment. I believe Savage was a Wolfpac member in the beginning. Also, Sting joined the Wolfpac two weeks before Bash '98.

There is no excuse for having any "filler" on the CD. Axl didn't say they were "filler". He said they wouldn't be released as singles.
