She's extremely intelligent and her stuff is exceptionally interesting to read. -=Mike Explain to me what is so good about her writings. Sure, I dont agree with her views, but I can enjoy certain conservative writers like Jonah Goldberg and Michelle Malkin. With Coulter, it seems that all her columns consist completely of personal attacks and general statements such as liberals support Saddam, liberals uniformly don't believe in God, etc. I mean, it's not like her writings could actually turn someone away from liberalism and towards conservatism, because she never writes about what's good about conservatism, only about how awful liberals are. Not that there aren't a lot of people like that on the left, but it seems that the kind of stuff she writes would only appeal to people such as yourself who really seem to hate liberals (that isn't meant as a flame, just an observation based on reading your posts over the last year).

You know, if I lived ten minutes from where I live now, I'd have Blue Ridge cable. But since I don't, I have to wait until Cablevision gets it.

By the way, would it have been THAT hard for WCW to just say, "OK, Shane Douglas bailed on Steamboat so he's teaming with Tom Zenk? It's not like Douglas was a draw or anything.

OK, I just found this from a 2002 interview with The Maestro (AKA Gorgeous George III) http://www.sportsonly.com/nb/8661/bin/201.html
-
Ugh. 8 minutes of Masters? I'm guessing he didn't show any talent that he's been hiding on Raw, did he?

Maher is one of those guys who I'll often find myself agreeing with (especially when he talks about the media and their "political correctness") but then he'll say something so incredibly fucking stupid that I'll be ashamed to have agreed with him before.
-
Two quick questions: 1) Was it really Shane Douglas in the FIRST Dos Hombres-Hollywood Blonds match (not the Slamboree one but the non-title match on free TV)? 2) Is it true that Randy Savage bought the rights to the name "Gorgeous George" with the intention of having his brother use it, only to give it to his girlfriend when Lanny's deal fell through?

How did Dark Journey bring down the territory? And "Doc" refers to Steve Williams, right?
-
MillenniumMan something.

Didn't one of his matches as the Dingo Warrior air on the MSG network?

Did you know there are two accounts that have been on the "Awaiting Authorization" list since last summer?

Just wondering, what was your opinion on Hogan/Warrior? I personally think that Hogan/Rock was actually better than it, even though I didn't think either was good when it came to actual wrestling.
-
It's a joke. Gamespot and IGN already confirmed that.

Jeff Jarrett returned to the "Double J" gimmick the same night Tyson joined DX. Another classic catchphrase which didn't catch on: Shane Douglas - "THAT'S A FACT!! THAT'S A FACT!! THAT'S A FACT!! JAAAAAAACKAAAAAAAAAASSS!!"

Of course, Dinosaurs ended up doing a "special episode" for the finale, where the dinosaurs went extinct because Earl messed with nature and killed some plants, or something like that.
-
No, he doesn't. WWE owns the name "Ultimate Warrior". He had his name legally changed to "Warrior", so that's what he called himself in WCW.

I think "The Blues" sounds like something off of one of the "Use Your Illusions. On a side note, I just got a DVD of GNR'S Madison Square Garden performance from 2002, the last concert they have performed to date, and the night before the Philly riot I was at. Should be interesting to watch. Did you pay for that? Some GNR website had those videos up for free download a few months ago. It's a great show, but supposedly Axl decided to cancel the tour after hearing one of Howard Stern's producers say it sucked.
-
Well, he did a good job of dodging the question. But it's been obvious for a while that what he's saying is true. For better or worse, this is an Axl album. If Slash had his way GNR never would have done songs like "November Rain" or Estranged". If people want to hear what Slash's GNR would have sounded like, listen to Slash's Snakepit. I couldn't imagine Slash being big on songs like "The Blues" or "Madagascar".

Here's something I've always wondered: How the fuck did Husker Du's Bob Mould get a job on the WCW booking team?
-
From what I've read, that Arquette match is pretty good.

Cawthon's site says Moolah wrestled Cowgirl Shalo (which is a God-awful name, by the way) on May 21, so you're probably right.

I personally don't understand why so many people hated that ending. I mean, sure, it was shitty for Hogan to pull a power trip like he did, but think about it: if the show had just ended with Hart or Yoko winning, it would have been the most uneventful WM ever. Hogan winning the belt was totally unexpected, popped the crowd huge, and as a seven-year-old Hogan mark, I personally loved it (although I loved a lot of dumb things back then, but you have to realize that I was in the demographic the WWF was aiming for with Hogan's win, not the "workrate fans"). While it's certainly unsurprising that so many smarks hated the ending, and considering the aftermath it might not have been such a great business move (mainly because Hogan never defended the title at house shows during that run) I don't think WWF was wrong to give Hogan the belt at Wrestlemania 9.

Go here. Then click on "Wrestling". Then click on "Matches, Matches Everywhere". There's no minimum post count required, but if you don't post and just download matches you'll get banned.

Remember though, Goldberg didn't want to work with Jericho. I would have put Goldberg with DDP and Hart and turned the match into a three-way. DDP vs. Hart was no main event, because it had already been done on TV several times before, and when is a US title match a PPV main event anyway?
