I just watched this on YouTube and I was not impressed. This "Crazy Funky Hat" song you reference is a gag that's supposed to be funny but falls pathetically flat. What I saw was a couple of girls of about 14 years old acting half that, delivering a song/dance sure to make anyone with an age in double digits embarrassed for having seen it. The Cory theme song is amazing in the same way that Vanilla Ice's Hard to Swallow or backyard wrestling videos are amazing. Oh yeah, this is special.

Remember the Andy Richter sitcom Quintuplets? Andy's character ate some weed brownies at a Springsteen concert in the first episode. I thought that was a bit early to be introducing the plot device of "square dad gettin' high", because we didn't know him well enough to understand why this was funny. If he gets high in the first episode, he has to get high in every episode! I never watched another edition of "Quints" as I like to call it but I bet they all sucked BUTT.

I'm not a big fan of weed-based humor. I'm old enough to see through the really exaggerated depictions of "dumb stoner behavior", but I'm also really tired of potheads' self-celebration. I still think crack is funny. But sitcoms don't want none of that. There was a Murphy Brown episode about weed. But she had cancer, it was OK.

I have a preauricular pit. No, that is not me. I ceased to be a baby long ago! It's not that much of a bother. It got badly infected when I was ten, but since then has been under control. But every two days or so, I squeeze it and a small amount of pus comes out. It's pretty gross. But, like taking a big dump, when I can get a whole lot out, it feels pretty rewarding.

First off, if there was going to be a reunion, GNR management would deny it until the second they announced the tour. But there's never going to be a reunion, so don't worry. Second, I really admire the way Axl fucked over the record industry on this one. Force out every member of your inner circle who isn't a total brown-nosing yes-man or yes-women, keep the name of the band even though you're the only member left, spend 11 years recording an album, be fed an endless supply of money to hire whoever you want, keep musicians, engineers and producers on payroll even if they aren't doing anything for you, tour when you feel like it, abruptly stop touring when you feel like it, headline a whole summer's worth of overseas stadium festivals when you do start touring again, bring your washed-up hair band also-ran best friend along on tour as a permanent opening act, bite a fucking cop in the leg and get off with a small fine, publicly fire an opening act for sucking, then release an album, don't do any promotion for it, and it still turns a profit despite bombing at retail. Now that's pretty awesome. That's how to be punk in 2008.
