Why the fuck is Cornette in the Hall and Jimmy Hart isn't?
-
When did Cornette draw money? His fabulous main event run managing Yokozuna in '93? Was it the SMW/WCW crossover feud earlier that year where HE CAME IN AND CUT A PROMO ON JIM HERD AND THE DUMB FUCKS WHO RAN HIM OUT OF WCW SO THAT THE PEOPLE WOULD THINK IT WAS A SHOOT AND THAT SHIT-FOR-BRAINS ERIC BISCHOFF CENSORED IT BECAUSE HE WAS AFRAID OF THE TRUTH? Was it his years as a mid-card manager in the faltering Crockett territory?

Depends on how you look at it. If her political manuvering is HOF-worthy on its own, then she should be in. If you think she needs more than that, then she's not. She was the most important figure in women's wrestling for nearly three decades. She trained a great number of the successful female wrestlers during that time. Her influence may not have been for the best but God knows she was important. I suppose my belief that she belongs in the Hall is more along the lines of the DVDVR-style "OOH THEY PUT DIRTY KURT ANGLE IN THERE WHY ISN'T BUNKHOUSE BUCK IN THERE HE COULD THROW A GOOD PUNCH" arguments but there's a great number of people in there less deserving. I mean, there's a freakin' ring announcer in there. I'd even say that she's more deserving than, say, Jim Cornette.

It's still ridiculous that Moolah isn't in the Observer Hall of Fame.

Look around you There are many things to see That some would say could never be These things I know It's true and I will tell you so They are there to see If you believe Trolls and wizards and fairy kings Birds that talk and fish that sing And if your heart is true Then you will find them too In every wish and dream and happy home You will find a kingdom of THE GNOOOOOOOOOOMES

That game would have totally been worth it just for the testicle ripping. Why was the second enemy in the video dressed like a member of Demolition?

OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD YOU CAN BUILD YOUR OWN STAGES OH JESUS

I remember on one occasion somehow I was aware beforehand that this was going to take place, and so I started a thread called "THE INVISIBLE POST" and hopefully created lots of confusion. Also I hope to make this Monday's chat should such an event take place.

Oh man I just played Mario Galaxy at Gamestop and it is SOOOOO awesome. Game of the freakin' year although I haven't played any of the other games that everyone would suggest for that designation, like Halo 3 or Bioshock or High School Musical: Makin' the Cut.

"We Built This City" is great. Fuck off. And that list can suck it because of its inclusion of "I'd Do Anything For Love". WAAA WAAA WHAT IS "THAT" MEAT LOAF NEVER TELLS US WHAT HE WON'T DO FOR LOVE. No you fucking morons, it's very clear. He'll never forget the way you feel right now. He'll never forgive himself they don't go all the way tonight. He'll never stop dreaming of you every night of his life. Meat Loaf and Steinman have explained this on many occasions but I guess Blender wasn't listening! Some professional music journalists they are!

Spore's been confirmed for Wii for a while, hasn't it? At least that's what I thought. And Geist wasn't made by NST, it was n-Space.

The Magic Box has news on some new Wii games: Remember the old arcade game Crazy Climber? No? Well, it's getting a Wii sequel. Also, Namco is bringing a new installment of the Family Stadium (refashioned in the U.S. as RBI baseball) to Wii, and will also be releasing "Family Jockey" and "Family Ski". And also, which Gamecube game will Nintendo (allegedly according to EGM) be releasing a Wii sequel to? ... ... ... ... GET FUCKIN' READY

The all caps thing is just something I do in lieu of quotes from time to time. I wasn't trying to make you look dumb or anything. In the case of the Sonics and PSO, wasn't it just that Naka liked the Cube the best out of the three systems?

Andrew has said in the past that Sega doesn't know how to emulate Saturn games because the machine's architecture is too complicated. That's why Sonic R in the Sonic Gems Collection is a port of the PC version, for example. As for Dreamcast, the Wii hardware isn't THAT much more powerful than the DC, so it would be kind of hard to emulate. I remember once when the possibility of DC games on the VC was raised Andrew was all OF COURSE YOU CAN EMULATE DREAMCAST ON WII BECAUSE THEY PORTED SONIC ADVENTURE 1 AND 2 TO GAMECUBE but that's CRAZY TALK because those were ports that actually cost money to develop and the whole point of the Virtual Console is to put out shovelware rereleases of ancient games without incurring any development costs except to translate menus in Sin and Punishment*. On top of that, there's the issue of disc size. Most DC games (and some Saturn games) were larger than the flash memory on the Wii. So without a hard drive, it just couldn't work. Impossible Mission was actually announced for a Wii Ware remake. But I do recall C64 being announced for the VC and nothing has come of it at all. *Since nobody has posted this, I feel I should: Treasure considering a Sin and Punishment Wii sequel

Oh man I didn't know Mikey was there. I would have loved to discuss Axl's sweet pleather shirt with a former ECW champ. I envy you, sir.

"Tangled Up in Me" is a catchy tune.

I listened to one of her new songs because i was doubtful of this NIN-meets-Britney claim which sounded like one of them lame bullshit Kurt Cobain saying "we sound like the Bay City Rollers being molested by Black Flag and Black Sabbath"-type things and yet I found that her voice did kind of sound like Britney and the featured some very Reznor-like drum loops. Sadly this did not save the song from sucking ass but whatever. She accurately assessed her sound and I give Ms. Sweetnam credit for that.

Oh man I just did a search on "Sweetnam" at the Pit and there's 8 whole fucking pages of SKBF being all SKYE SWEETNAM SKYE SWEETNAM SKYE SWEETNAM SKYE SWEETNAM SKYE SWEETNAM SKYE SWEETNAM SKYE SWEETNAM SKYE SWEETNAM SKYE SWEETNAM SKYE SWEETNAM SKYE SWEETNAM SKYE SWEETNAM SKYE SWEETNAM SKYE SWEETNAM SKYE SWEETNAM and other people making fun of him for it. This is as bad as Spoon's obsession with Kylie although I admit it lacks the homoerotic undertones of that situation since I don't know Skye Sweetnam to be any sort of gay icon. Just, wow.

http://wii.ign.com/articles/829/829301p1.html IGN gave Zack and Wiki a 9.0. A good third-party Wii exclusive? Amazing. Too bad the game will sell like shit and Capcom will probably cancel 80% of their Wii projects but it was worth a try.

Go look up the match results yourself. Between his WWF title loss to Sid at Survivor Series 96 and his semi-retirement match with Austin at Wrestlemania 14, Shawn DIDN'T job to anyone. For seventeen months he didn't get pinned one single time, no matter whether he was babyface or heel, champ or not. (And no, HHH's Euro title "win" doesn't count.) Meanwhile, Bret was jobbing to guys like The Patriot. He jobbed a few times on house shows. I know there was at least one time in late '96/early '97 when he got pinned by Austin, then Hart pinned him in a dark match at the MSG Raw that year (it was a 3-way with Taker), then I believe Taker pinned him in a six-man at MSG about a week after the screwjob. And, um, that's all I can think of. But none of those were on TV, so your point stands.

Oh I guess I accidentally deleted that when I was editing the post for some reason.
