There's a difference between porting games between systems and actually emulating the hardware. There were a lot of Genesis games ported to SNES. Could the SNES have run a Genesis emulator? I doubt it. I bet PS3 and Xbox 360 could run a DC emulator, but I don't think Wii could.

I've seen the cage match around awhile back but much like that 8 man tag you were asking for it has been awhile since I passed across a link. I will keep an eye out for you though. Reason being the Uncensored cage match sucked. The rules kept changing throughout the match, the finish made no sense, and Hogan looked more like the face when he was supposed to be the heel. It was supposed to be like that as it was a dual turn with Hogan turning face and Flair turning heel. Not to say it made sense, but that's why the finish looked like it did. Another thing they have in common was that neither PPV seemingly got all that much hype both on TV or on the internet back in those days. Gotta wonder what the buyrate was. If it is as low as I think it was then it is no wonder these matches are semi-rare to outright impossible to find since nobody bought the PPV. The Superbrawl buy rate was shockingly high at 1.1, and it came very close to matching the buy rate for the Austin/McMahon cage match that took place the week before. It's generally considered to be the last big buy rate Hulk Hogan drew as a full-time wrestler. The Uncensored main event was funny going in, because it was a First Blood match and they were forbidden from using the term 'First Blood' on television, so they had to hype up a match with a stipulation where they couldn't tell you what the stipulation was. Uncensored did 0.73 in the end. I wonder how much better Uncensored could have done with a better undercard. SuperBrawl had a pretty stacked card including some really heavily-built up matches like Goldberg-Bigelow and Steiner-DDP. On SuperBrawl, the main event was the only big match. Of course, the next month's show dropped to something like a .6 with a much better lineup than Uncensored, but I guess that's what you get when you don't announce the two big matches (Hogan vs Sting vs Flair vs DDP and Goldberg vs Nash) until a week before the show. Oh, WCW.

I would assume there would be licensing problems since a lot of the wrestlers in the game aren't with WWE anymore and thus they aren't under whatever license agreements allowed them to be in the game in the first place. I'd expect to see very few licensed games on the VC.

SJK, Vigilante was a game in the Kung-Fu mold but set in an urban environment. I'd go so far as to call it a present day (at the time) update of Kung-Fu. My brother may have rented this game back in the day. I have fairly vivid memories of a number of games we rented for the TurboGrafx. Battle Royale. Bloody Wolf. Darkwing Duck. NEUTOPIA! D&D: The Order of the Griffon. But I can't say I remember much of Vigilante besides the name. Although looking at some of the screenshots, it does look a little familar.

I remember Vigilante. Kinda. Or do I? I think I do. I should look into this. Seriously, though. Neutopia. And Neutopia II. There aren't any good TurboGrafx emulators.

Yeah but they released the last one for PS2, 360 and PSP and there was a PS3 version scheduled before it got canned. I'm guessing they realized that in the eyes of the fans, the Smackdown series is the clear #1 and they figured it's best just to make the same game for each system, which is the cheaper option as well.

Well, it was actually released in November 1998 in Japan. But they did need to get it out early to get the jump on PS2. They DIDN'T buy three consoles in five years. That was the problem. If people had bought those consoles they wouldn't have needed to rush the Dreamcast. Yeah I'm sure Saturn owners were upset about the premature death of their system but there were only 1.5 million of them in the US, so why should Sega have continued catering to them rather than making another bid at the mainstream?

Sega was never a gigantic company on the level of a Sony or even a Nintendo. That didn't stop them from creating and/or supporting an astounding number of systems. In 1994, they were making games for Genesis, Sega CD, and Game Gear. And they were porting Genesis and Game Gear titles to the Master System for release in Europe. And that year they released the 32X, Saturn (in Japan) and Pico: The Computer That Thinks It's A Toy! And they were also pumping out a large number of arcade games. I also think they introduced a new brand called "Sega Toys" around this time. The next year they brought out the Nomad. It was also around this period (somewhere around '95-'96) that they began producing PC games. Anyway, by focusing on too many different pieces of hardware no system got the attention it fully deserved.

Man, don't tell me you actually believe that Nintendo PlayStation bullshit. "They were ready to co-exist harmoniously before Nintendo screwed Sony BUT THEY GOT THEIR COMEUPPANCE!" Sony always had plans to release their own game system. The deal to create the SNES-CD was just their way of getting a foot in the door. The original plan for the PlayStation was to be a home entertainment system that played SNES carts and Sony's own CD-ROM games. I'm sure Nintendo would have been TOTALLY down with that. When the deal fell through Sony went ahead with the project on their own.

Anyone with a working brain would have also killed the Saturn for the Dreamcast. That doesn't mean Bernie Stolar isn't a moron.
