From the official Playstation.com page (assuming they aren't lying, which is a big assumption since it is Sony's page): http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/specs.html Core: 20 GB HD vs. Premium: 60 GB HD Core: I/O only 4 USB 2.0 ports vs. Premium: additional Memory Stick/SD/CompactFlash slots Core: requires physical ethernet connection to get online vs. Premium: IEEE 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi also supported. So if the USB ports will allow you to use portable USB flash drives for moving data around (which it should, in theory), it's not that big a difference. You'll have just a smaller harddrive and you won't have the PS3 connected online wirelessly. I don't care since wireless internet is an utter pain in the ass, and my cordless phones would probably screw it up bigtime. As for upgrading--as far as I know you can upgrade the Harddrive, but I doubt you can add the missing ports. Whether you can simply slide a wireless card into the PS3 for wi-fi or if a more complicated/risky installation is required hasn't been revealed. So it honestly isn't so much a tard pack as the Hard-drive-less cheap 360 at first glance, but we don't know to what extent you can upgrade besides the Hard drive.

You forget--the competition doesn't matter. And fortunately, the Europeans don't mind the delay. Really, just ask Sony! http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/sony/sony-vp-...elay-205698.php This isn't something said when the delay was just announced either, but something new. Neat little comment from the Kotaku thread... He forgot the "first 3 million will sell even if there's no softwre for it," statement, the "next gen doesn't start until we say so" statement, etc, etc.

By "doesn't have an HD period" I mean Hard Drive. There's no hard drive in the Tard 360. So you have to buy memory cards to save on, which like start at 40 bucks IIRC.

Ok, so he's like an idiot savant with the 2D/3D thing. Highly likely.

Well, who is to say it wasn't John who actually knew what he was doing, not Ed? Ed's standalone projects have been crap. Of course, John's have been worse... Although I guess the argument is that one or both of them knew what they were doing in 2D, but when it comes to 3D, he/they're clueless?

Boon still has no clue what he did right and what he did wrong. The people who made SF, Tekken, VF, etc. have learned what they've done right and wrong and tried to update/fix the games appropriately. Sadly, often that involves "toning down" characters who don't need it and introducing broken new characters, but at least they try and have a clue what they're doing.

"....how do I hand over an item?" I don't like WoW or any MMORPGs (what a colossal waste of time), but found most of it amusing.

One year or so later--how you liking the PSP, JotW?

It could be argued, though, that the PS3's core pack is just as good as the 360; the HD size is smaller, but the 360 Tard pack didn't even have a HD period. HDMI ports are in the $499 PS3 as well.

Glad to hear Metal Slug Anthology is still on. It seems ot have dropped from the launch lists and I haven't heard/seen much on it lately.

The screens and press release with all of the specific information are new. I saw the screens in the survey. If I knew anyone cared I would have perhaps shared.

That doesn't make much sense. It's not as if the demo console is just any regular ol' console with a standard controller. It's a Wii. Which I imagine would involve the Wiimotes/nunchucks being securely locked to the kiosks (for $60? Mosdef). I would think Nintendo would want as many casuals/nongamers to be playing it as possible, though. So why put it in the specialty shops and not the major retailers? Oh--my GC was starting to get the dreaded DREs. Fortunately I fixed it, in under an hour.

Ugh. It's slot-loading.

Old news. I actually took a survey on this months ago.

Samurai Shodown 0 Special: MK Trilogy combos--including lots of near/100+ combos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxALDbVG3NY Those look real to you, Anya?
-
I doubt it will make any sense, try as they might. Anya linked me to this--the Killer Instinct 1 and 2 finishing moves: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDG3Iq8G9Fk I still don't get how Orchid kills you by showing you her tits. I mean, they look freakish, but still... I can't find any videos at all for time killers and bloodstorm. Ha! MK4 Fatalities: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SelUxnJgJ-8

Oh, okay. That boost. I didn't really notice it. Thanks for pointing that out. Unfortunately--yeah, so far this game's difficulty is making OOT look difficult in comparison.
-
Yah, just keep running until you get the speed lines. Knew about that since the demo, tho... Crimson Helm is soooooooooooo easy. I beat him without even being hit. The fish are tough with conventional attacks, but bombs and power slashes make quick work of them--although they may jump on your back and you have to slash them before they explode.

It seems most impressions of Red Steel have been bumped up from "it looks and plays like ass" to "it looks okay and plays better--waiting on a reviewable." I would *like* it to be good, but I have little faith in it.
-
Who honestly is getting a Wii for COD3? Or Red Steel?
-
It's *not* the games, it's the 72-pin connector. It flat-out goes bad. Replacing that took care of that problem on my NES.
-
The NES had a known issue with the cart slots (and the whole design is pretty poorly thought out). Gamecubes sometimes suffer from their own DRE problems. Some of the DSes had a problem with the hinges where they were susceptible to hairline cracks, Nintendo offered to fix any of them for free. Every portable system suffers from occasional runs of dead pixels, but I haven't heard much about the DS, or if there are any, there's been no gripes about Nintendo not fixing them. But regardless, it's going to have a 1 year warranty, not this "90 days" bullshit Sony and MS do for a system 2-3 times the cost.

Yeesh...you were still trying to get all those trees?! That final tree was the same one I was stuck on. Found it in, like 5 minutes. Yet Mr. King of RPGs who went through Disgaea in one day... I'm at 11 hours but that's artificially trumped up from pause time, too. Is the Deflector sold in Kusa worth buying? I passed on it for Gold Dust to upgrade my current weapon. I only need a few thousand yen to afford it, but that would be all my cash and I don't think I need it.
